how the fuck the ‘shared life experience’ line made it into the final cut of the movie. like. what the actual fuck.

steve and nat very clearly talk about very much non-platonic romantic interests. and then steve just drops that line and the audience is supposed to be like 'duh maybe he’s talking about peggy or something’

and then literally ten (10) minutes later steve’s presumed dead best friend since childhood and wartime companion james buchanan 'bucky’ barnes of the 107th shows up. and apparently seven decades of intense brainwashing can be broken by one sappy line uttered between them more than half a century ago (read: wedding vows). and then he goes to save steve’s life and all. (and then steve goes against half of the avengers and most governments because he’s sure his bro wouldn’t be behind a terror attack.)

and you mean to tell me that this isn’t who 'shared life experience’ refers to?
