if they ask for space, give it to them. they’ll come out when they’re ready.

give them a piece of paper and some crayons to write down their feelings. if they don’t want to show you, don’t force them. they can scrunch or rip up the paper and put it in the trash.

if they don’t want to tell you what’s wrong, don’t force them or punish them. it’ll make it worse.

be gentle with them.

make sure they’re as comfortable as they can be.

get them some snacks. whether they eat them or not, it’s nice to know they have the option.

help them with looking after themselves. ie; help them brush their teeth, take a bath etc.

hold their hand.

watch their favourite movies and tv shows with them.

let them cuddle their stuffie.

don’t be upset or offended if they don’t want to cuddle or be around you.

overall, just be sure that they know you’re there for them no matter what.
