PSA: Rules Updated
//Nothing big really, just a little addition for transparency's sake (change bolded):
My replying speed with threads can be anything between a couple of days to a couple of months, depending on how much my chronic illnesses are affecting me, how busy I am, and how much muse I have. However, feel free to message me whenever if you’re feeling like I’ve missed your reply!
So, not a big change. But if you've been wondering about my ever spottier activity, my illnesses are to blame. My symptoms are really unpredictable, and at worst, I'm fatigued beyond belief, have brain fog, or I'm stuck having a fever. Or all three at the same time, sometimes for weeks on end. Also, if ever my replies seem off, that's why. Because sometimes I just have so much muse despite all of the sickly Victorian child bullshit.//
"I've seen a lot of things in my lifetime that most people aren't supposed to see." Henry said, "I can handle it. I know what you're like, and I understand your heart." As much as he did not approve of Danila risking his life and freedom for revenge on some bastard, Henry wasn't blind to what it meant. Danila was just the type to act on things most people only thought about. He wasn't out to kill for the sake of it, or harm anyone innocent, so Henry couldn't blame him for wanting the man dead.
"I'm ok." He said honestly, the further away he got from the night before, the calmer he was beginning to feel. It could have been much worse, and luckily it hadn't been, for the pair of them anyway. There was no point dwelling on what might have happened.
Henry ran his hand through Danila's dark hair and kissed his forehead. "I've already told my Aunt Jeanie you'll be coming to my house for a while when I'm gone. You two might have to cohabitate for a bit before she heads back home. She's been with Max this whole time."
Danila forced himself to meet Henry's gaze to make sure he wasn't hiding anything behind those words—that he truly was okay. Fortunately, his lover seemed to tell the truth.
He wasn't sure what he would have done if Henry hadn't.
"Your aunt?" He had no idea how much she knew, but the thought of having to face someone so important to Henry after putting his life in danger twisted his stomach. Several objections bubbled to the surface, but he swallowed them all. Henry didn't need him clashing with Aunt Jeanie before they had even met. "Okay."
Nele shrugged. She'd be an open book about her ex and his arrest but she could already feel herself be a little too lazy to hide her own involvement in this. Besides, that stupid little brain worm of hers tickled whenever she thought of sharing her more violent nature with Danila. For those reasons she grit her teeth and forced herself to stay a little more focused as to not trip over her own words for now. In other words: just avoid the subject "copycat killer boyfriend" in general.
"Kinda, yeah. I used to be really active in snuff forums a while back." That was a half-truth. Seeing people die on video didn't really count but it was the forum she had met Matt in. "Found a homeless guy dead in front of a grocery store back when I had my first job in Germany."
She glanced over at Danila. Yeah, none of those were comparable to killing a person yourself, with your own hands. She knew, knew because she had experienced how different both of them had felt. Still, she couldn't tell, not while the trial was still ongoing.
"But that's not the same and you still haven't answered my question."
Danila froze. He had prepared for a million different answers: accidents, loved ones, strangers. Something tragic but inevitable. Snuff hadn't been anywhere near what he had expected. The only tragedy involved was the poor people getting their suffering and deaths turned into something to consume for perverse ghouls.
"Dead homeless guy, I get. That happens. But why snuff forums?" A sharp breath hissed between his teeth. The woman before him looked like a stranger now. "That's disgusting."
A horrible realization squeezed his stomach. Why was Nele actually interested in his past? To get more macabre misery to devour?
Those friends didn't seem all too friendly after all judging by the way the two of them interacted but Nele couldn't condemn the guy for masking the truth behind nice words, after all that's all she ever did herself.
Nele looked at Danila over her shoulder. She could feel his urge to leave and was basically just waiting for angry stranger to give in and leave them alone for now... just so she herself could bug Danila with all kinds of questions. Their mistake to make something seem interesting enough for her to be nosy about.
"Right, Danila is supposed to be my plus-one today."
"Right, right, sorry for holding you up. Have a great time," Alexei hummed. "Call me. You don't want me to track you down," he added in Russian, his smile making it sound like an overly-complicated way to bid goodbye.
"Yeah, bye," Danila replied, trying to nudge Nele out of the door as fast as possible.
"Sorry. He can't mind his own business. So where were we?"

I want to see Danila be a father!
//Danila would low-key be a trainwreck of a parent (at least at first), and I'm not the best at keeping the momentum going with slice-of-life threads. But! Ask, and you shall receive, aka there will be a starter if/whenever you'd like 👀//

Curious how my muse would handle heartbreak? Want an open where my Muse is irrationally upset or in danger? Toss all the ideas at me! I might get inspired!
Anon is optional.
"I like ta give everyone a lil' nickname, people seem to like it, makes em' feel more at ease, all friendly-like." He smiled, he was enjoying this new foreign person, he was fitting in nicely already.
Riff lit up two smokes in his mouth and passed one to Danila. Then he started to introduce all the guys that were sitting around. Not many of them went by their real names, like Mouthpiece, and Baby John, and especially not Anybodys, but Riff knew them all like they were family, because these guys were his family.
"My girl, Grazie, she's not here at the moment, off with her gal pals, but she's nice, she'll like you."
Apparently, getting a nickname of his own had been inevitable, considering they seemed to be the only kind of names in use around here. Danila nodded along and tried his best to memorise them all, but already knew he'd be stumbling over them.
"You got yourself a girl, too? You've really built yourself a home here," Danila smiled before taking another puff of the cigarette.
"When do you think it's safe to get back to the streets? How persistent are the police around here?"
Her eyes drifted to her fingers, as if she could see something there that was invisible to him. But Lily quickly looked up again and turned to face him. “Not much can go wrong with it?” She snorted softly and shook her head. “Nothing in life is ever easy.”
She tried not to let it show, but the fact that he offered to give her the address lifted her mood. It was a small step in the right direction.
“Do you know what kind of meeting this is?” She took another drag on her cigarette, but the nicotine wasn’t having the desired effect on her today. Instead of calming her down, it seemed to rile her up even more. “It would be a shame if I barged into a party and wasn’t dressed properly.” The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile.
It was a small attempt to lighten the situation. But if the tension continued, something might blow up today.
“Would you like to tell me your price, or can I assume this isn’t the last time I’ll see you?”
"Business kind?" Danila shrugged. It was his best guess, as the meeting's contents were strictly on a need-to-know basis, so asking too many questions would have raised suspicion. Whatever kind it'd end up being, she'd surely make an impression.
"You forget me and tell nobody we met. And you take care of that lawyer. Don't let him get away this time. I don't want to risk my life for nothing." There was a puff of smoke, then another before he recited the address and the time of the meeting he had memorized.

Danila Bagrov + police stations
"Oh? Well, not that it's really any business of mine what you do once you're out of my office, but getting into fisticuffs is generally bad for your health."
She steps away, busying herself with gathering the cut away threads and stained gauze into the small receptacle by the desk. Danila helped, a little, obediently lifting his hand off the metal when she made to remove the absorbent sheet. Her eyes flick to his face as he spoke, took in the satisfied smirk that curved his lips when he shared about the man he'd put down. Some slimey guy, apparently, getting what he deserved and more. Miriel could only regret not being able to lay her blades on him first. It was usually a challenge to retrieve targets from hospitals, not to mention the paperwork she'd inflict on a few colleagues.
Though, perhaps, if Danila's victim survived his stay…
"Ah — it's nice of you to say so. I would suppose that it's important for an injury over the knuckles to heal up properly. Especially for someone who's good at fighting with them. Where did you pick that up, by the way?"
"Life," he shrugged. "I've had enough fights to learn something." That something had been mostly several handfuls of dirty tricks and refusal to stay down, though there was a sprinkle of rough skill beneath. It was a miracle that he had only a few small scars to show for his so-called lessons, despite sporting a busted lip or a black eye more times than he cared to count.
"You need to watch him whole night?" A hint of guilt flashed on his face. Not because he felt bad for what he had done to the man, but because he might have forced Miriel to work longer hours than expected.
"I hope I didn't ruin any plans."
//A couple of plot ideas that came to mind:
A detective is trying to solve the murders Danila is committing. Gimme Danila trying to outsmart the police while they are piecing the evidence together. Gimme a detective who gets obsessed with solving the case.
A prison plot. 'Cause let's be honest, that's where Danila should be. Is the other muse a fellow prisoner or maybe a guard? Or maybe someone who comes to visit Danila in prison?
Bonus idea: Combine the plots—the detective who caught Danila keeps visiting him in prison.//
i in fact do NOT have a pocket full of sunshine, that is a glock
Henry clasped Danila's hand when it was offered and felt an immense sense of relief that his lover was going to listen to him. Danila hadn't promised not to kill the bastard, but at least he wasn't going to do it right now and destroy their future together. They'd worked too hard to lose each other now.
They walked back to the room in silence, encountering a few looks from people in the hallway, but otherwise, made it back to safety. Henry had no idea what the fuck the guard was up to when he was supposed to be guarding the room. He'd have to look into that later.
Henry pulled back the sheets on Danila's hospital bed. "Here, you should be resting anyway." He wrapped his arms around him then, kissing his cheek and then pecking his lips tenderly. "Thank you for listening."
Danila slumped onto the bed. A faint pull around his incision reminded him that he'd been on his feet for too long.
The sun had painted a bright rectangle on the sheets. Danila stared at it through Henry's hug and kisses, fingers picking on a scab on his knuckles.
"You weren't supposed to see that." People tended to leave when they witnessed that side of him. Which is exactly why he had wised up quickly and made sure to keep it from them. But Henry had seen it–and saved him from making the biggest mistake of his life instead of turning his back on him.
"Are you okay?" Maybe one day he would stop worrying about how the whole ordeal had affected Henry, but today was not that day.

//Sorry for not being active here! I had an operation (very routine and small, no worries), and my brain has put me in a perpetual waiting mode jail as I'm waiting for everything to fully heal. I'll be back here asap when my brain cooperates again.//
"Really?"
Oh, touchy subject. Even better! Danila rarely showed any emotion. The way that he was trying to be avoidant right now told her enough already but she still wanted to know more. People needed to be poked in sensitive places, forced out of their comfort zone every now and then. Nele was just too happy to provide such a service, albeit unasked for. Maybe in another life, a life where she had a little more ambition and self-discipline she could've become a decent therapist, psychiatrist even. Morbid curiosity or genuine goodwill, didn't matter what it was as long as it helped people process.
"Well I just did."
She figured it might need a bit more for him to open up but straight-up assertiveness, so she added: "I've seen people die, too, if it makes it a little easier to talk about it."
Picking at his cuticles, he glared at Nele. Any kind of tactfulness was clearly too much to ask for.
Danila's eyebrows arched in surprise at the revelation. Still, he was about to mumble that it made no difference at all until he realized the opportunity to get the attention off of himself.
"You have?" he asked, tone measured not to come off too prying. After all, he knew all too well how uncomfortable it was when someone stuck their nose into others' personal affairs.
