Detective Henry Quinn

Henry watched as Dex's fingers slid over the keys, entranced at how some simple movements could produce such a lovely melody. Henry wasn't musically inclined himself, at all, so it always amazed him how easily the artistic things came to his lover.

He was leaning on his hand and gazing when the song came to an end.

☕ caramel macchiato – what’s their sweet side that most people don’t see?

Henry usually wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't about letting that sweetness hide. But, people he works with might be surprised how lovely he is personally since they don't know him that well and he handles his work very professionally. They get an idea of that when he works with victims, though, because he is overflowing with empathy.

🍫 caffè mocha – what’s their guilty pleasure?

It's sweets, 100% He's never gonna turn down a treat, or a dessert after dinner. He might have to work out or run to counter the bad, but he's gonna do it, every time.

🍮 vanilla latte – what’s something sweet about them?

Henry is an animal lover. He has his cat, Max, but he loves all animals. Part of me thinks about making him a vegan since I think it would match his personality, but I haven't decided yet :p

"Why the fuck do you keep doing this?" Henry sighed, absolutely exasperated. Another 'date' of his ruined after Josh came barging into their dorm room unannounced and uninvited. Henry was sure he told Josh about this earlier in the day, that he needed the privacy, but it had fallen on deaf ears, as usual.

Josh had made up his mind that he and Henry were not to be couple, and refused to admit his true love, or commit, so Henry had decided to move on. Josh said he didn't care, spoiler alert; Josh cared.

"You're mine." Came back the flat and honest answer, as plain as day, and left Henry standing in the room absolutely gobsmacked and stunned for several moments. And Josh wasn't giving him his usual smirk to wind him up, he was staring Henry dead in the eyes.

"I can't argue with that." Henry shrugged, "I think I've been yours since the moment we met on the tennis court. But you don't want that, you don't want me to yours, not really, not truly."

Finally he moved, realizing he should go after the girl he'd been making out with just moments before, she'd be hurt if he didn't, but Henry at least wanted to apologize. Josh made a grab for him before he left, but Henry pushed him off, a little harder than he intended, that sent Josh downward on their pushed together beds.

"I'm sorry," Henry said before leaving, not having enough emotion left in him to slam the door.

The sad part was, it was all true. And Henry would come back to this room after telling the girl it wasn't going to work out. He and Josh would literally kiss and make up, and fuck in those beds....and tomorrow they'd do it all over again.

🍵 matcha latte – what calms them down when they’re stressed?

The main thing Henry will do when he's stressed is go for a run. It's a good way to get his energy out. It releases tension and automatically makes him feel better. If the weather isn't cooperating he'll call his Aunt Jeanie to vent. If he's with someone, he'll seek their arms to hold him through it.

🌿 chai latte – what’s something warm/spicy about their personality?

Henry is a very warm and caring person in general. Very observant and kind. As for spicy, he's can be very dirty-mouthed within the throws of passion, or a total smartass when he's upset. The latter doesn't happen that often though.

🍪 cookies & cream frappuccino – what brings them comfort?

For physical things, he's big on comfort foods. Whether a meal or just dessert. He's is 100% the type to eat out of a tub of ice cream like the girls in the movies lol.

🥛 flat white – what’s something simple but important about them?

Henry likes to keep a neat and tidy home that has basic colours and is sparsely decorated. He finds the neutral tones comforting, and a clean space leaves him content.

🔥 spicy lemonade – what makes them snap or lose their temper?

This is a very super seldom thing to happen. Henry doesn't process negative emotions like a normal person, especially anger, so he usually bottles it up or ignores it. Injustice is the thing that pisses him off the most though, in all situations, not just victims in his line of work.

Henry was no stranger to being hit on, but he never let it affect him. It flattered him, sure, but he was not a man with a big ego, nor the need to feed into one; and for all his past rendezvous when he was single, when it came to love, he was always completely locked in on the person he was with. He loved a lot, but only one person at a time.

So, when the man behind the counter obviously gave Henry a discount on his purchase, (a new headset for Zeke's gaming *cough*) Henry only smiled politely and accepted the generous offer. Zeke was having none of it.

"Choose me." The younger man said, once they were out in the parking lot, standing there, giving Henry the poutiest look he'd ever seen.

Henry stopped to turn and look at him, tilting his head. "Zeke, baby..." He walked over and cupped his lover's face, giving him a kiss on his sweet, pink lips. "I don't know exactly what you mean, but I do choose you, always. You think some guy that works the counter is gonna sweep me off my feet with a 20% discount on something I bought for you?"

Henry kissed his forehead, he wasn't chastising Zeke for this, he was young, it was a very intense relationship, and Zeke still had a lot to learn about his self worth and confidence. Henry was his steady partner, his rock, his passionate lover, but also, he was raising him, in an odd sort of way.

"I'm not that cheap, I mean it could have at least been 50% off." He smiled and took the bag from Zeke's hands to carry it for him. "I love you, only you, I promise, ok?"
