Detective Henry Quinn

"N-No... No it's ok..." His voice trembled as he spoke, standing under that warm stream of water and letting it coat his entire body. He had never felt so cold in his life, not even when he had been struggling to find places to sleep when he was young. He knew that it would pass, but fuck it was freezing. He gave a small nod in response to the offer of help, unable to do anything besides find relief in the warm water.

Henry's eyes swooped over Jud's form, naturally, without even thinking. He'd never seen the priest more than shirtless before, much less in a towel and wet from the shower; damn. Then he looked away.

"Of course I was gonna help you, I can't have my partner in the paranormal up and dying on me." Henry offered him a smile and rubbed the back of his neck. "Do you feel better now?"

The events had shaken them, even Henry, with all his experience, hadn't seen a spirit so violent before. Perhaps there was something more to it. But even if there was, their jobs didn't change.

"That was scary, but it was scarier seeing you hurt. I think I'd be lost out here if anything ever happened to you." And Henry meant in general, not just investigating. Jud was a big part of his life now, which had happened by chance and was unexpectant.

But then came the call out from Jeanie and he sighed, before chuckling at the response from Henry.

"You know I can be dirty with the best of them." Henry reminded, and kissed Ollie's neck. They both knew that once they started, Henry's filthy mouth was a tool he used to make Ollie undone. His sweet/dirty talk was on point. Even if Ollie was the swearer in their relationship day to day.

Henry took Ollie's hand and placed it on his hardened cock, rubbing it up and down. "Yeah, that's a hard situation alright. And even though I instigated this, I'm blaming you." 'That smile on Henry's face, the softness in it, that took Josh straight back to college. The blonde always had such a beautiful, gentle smile, and it had been one of the things that had drawn him in from the first time they met. He moved after Henry towards the kitchen, hearing the music that came on and pausing for a second. It was always powerful between them. Josh was a magnet and Henry's heart (and his dick, if he was being honest) were made of metal. If Josh had made a move, Henry wouldn't deny him, and he cursed himself inside his head for this fact. Some things never changed. But even if his body craved his former lover, Henry wouldn't let his emotions pull him back in again.

There were times when Josh had been gentle, times when he'd looked out for Henry and always had his back. And it was impossible to ignore all the memories flooding back, as hard as he had tried to supress them. But there were also times when Josh was toxic, possessive, and hard to read. If Henry had been truly loved by him, he didn't know it.

"I don't know what to say to that, you're welcome I guess?" Henry turned with two plates in his hands with the steaks and sides, and placed them on the kitchen table. "I hope this is good enough. If there's a next time, we can go out, or I'll cook."

Looking forward to any 'next time' was a dangerous thing. Josh might be leaving town in a day for all Henry knew. "Please, sit."

Ok that caught Zeke off guard. Why did hearing that kind of praise make the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end? He quickly cleared his throat and focused on the road, glad that Henry moved on from the words. "I didn't really have a damn clue when I started, but it's a good place to learn on the job. But hopefully we can figure it out and get her back up and runnin' soon."

He's very cute, not just from first glance, but it's obvious Zeke is very adorable in personality as well. Henry hadn't been prepared for this today. He expected some random guy to come and give him a tow, not a cute twenty-something with a pretty face and beautiful blonde curls. Shit.

It was Henry's turn to be surprised at the spoken words when Zeke said he was 22. He was even younger than Henry had thought. "Oh, I'm sorry, when you said graduated for some reason my brain went to college, not high school. I shouldn't just assume things, I apologize." It was probably just the fact that he was 35 and thinking older for someone reason. Once again, shit.

"Close to your birthday then." Henry smiled, playing it cool but inside he was sure someone so young probably thought mid-thirties was old man status. "What else do you like to do, Zeke? Besides saving people like me and fixing their cars?"

As they pushed through the door of the motel room they were staying in, Jud felt himself shivering. They may have come out of the exorcism on top overall, another innocent life saved, but it had not been without its trials. Amidst the proceedings, the demon they were fighting had sent the priest flying, causing him to land in the nearby river. He was unharmed, fortunately, and Henry was able to finish the job himself, but it had left him soaking wet and covered in mud. Given the current temperatures, with ice beginning to form on the ground, Jud was now freezing cold and he allowed Henry to usher him towards the bathroom.

The sound of water running quickly hit his ears, the shower turned on hot as Henry began to frantically help him remove his sopping clothes. Slipping out of his shoes and socks, he let his slacks fall to the ground and he tugged his shirt over his head, discarding it (along with his collar) a lot less carefully than he normally would. He then reached out to test the water, stepping under its flow with a gasp.

Henry would never say that he thought what they fought was a demon. He didn't believe in demons, or angels. As far as he was concerned, it was a malevolent spirit, he'd seen plenty of nasty ones in his day, and he knew they could possess others; he'd been mildly possessed on purpose in readings before. But he didn't begrudge Jud for calling them that, if that's what his beliefs taught him. The important thing was they'd helped the person in peril, though not without some mishaps themselves.

"Sorry, sorry, probably a bit too hot." Henry fussed and adjusted the water to a more sensible temperature. "You don't look like you're getting hypothermia or anything, just get in and get warm."

Henry took Jud's wet clothes up off the floor and put towels down where Jud could easily find them when he stepped out of the shower. Then he left the priest his privacy and went into the room proper to wait for him. "If you need me or feel weak, just holler."

"Oh, one of the many ways?" Henry laughed, "How many ways are there? I'd like to know them all." He teased, and his assault of tickles continued until Ollie was yelping at him. "I like the way you move under me." Suffice to say, all this wrestling and friction had made Henry hard, not that is was difficult for Ollie to do that to him.

Instead of tickling him, Henry's hands slid up under his lover's shirt once again to slide over his stomach and chest, feeling his hair and then playing with his nipples. "You think we got time for a quickie before dinner?"

"Dinner time!" Jeanie called up the stairs, "Come and get it."

"Fuck." Henry muttered, was he hungry for spaghetti, of course, but he was far hungrier for Ollie. "Looks like you're saved by the dinner bell from your ravishing." He smiled, stealing another kiss.

"It's nice to know you're a good boy then." Henry said without thinking at all. It did occur to him after the fact, but he assumed it best just to keep talking like it didn't happen. "You must have a real knack for this type of work then, it's not an easy job. Especially with an old car like mine, it gets harder and harder to find the parts, so hopefully, it is just the battery."

It then came to him that Zeke might be either younger or older than he thought, it was hard to tell, he was so pretty and youthful looking. "So how old are you, if you don't mind me asking? You said 4 years since you graduated so what, 25 or 26?" Why did that matter? Well, he'd be lying if he wasn't curious about Zeke already, some conversation would only kill the time.

He wanted to smile then, however hearing Henry use those words like that caught him off guard. It made Josh wonder just how much of their relationship - if one could call it that - Henry perhaps regretted. He quickly brushed that thought aside and instead focused on listening to what the blonde said about his work. He listened, giving Henry his full attention, wanting to show the other that he was genuinely interested, and he nodded along with what was said.

"Well, I'm gonna guess that she's pretty damn proud of you. Using your stuff for good, it's admirable." Being selfless like Henry was, it was something entirely unfamiliar to Josh. It wasn't that he was a bad person, but he was often selfish. Especially if someone were to ask his parents.

Henry could never say that Josh wasn't a good listener. Even back in college the only way Josh passed certain courses was with Henry's tutoring. Well that, and Henry may have written an assignment or two for him, for which he was always rewarded. Henry was so weak back then, it was laughable. But, nonetheless, Henry smiled as Josh's eyes were locked on him.

"Jeanie would be proud of me if I'd stayed a gas station attendant like my summer job." He mused with a fond smile, "She just wants me to be a good person, and luckily she set a good example."

Henry went into the kitchen and actually had a radio, rather than his phone set up for music. "I really enjoy this one oldies station, there's just something special about listening to actual radio broadcasts still."

The radio was already set on the dial when he turned it on, and Otis Redding immediately started. Oh great, Henry thought, how ironic.

Henry turned his back to Josh at the kitchen counter, "I have to admit I ordered out instead of cooking. Honestly I wasn't sure if you were going to show up."

Henry was delighted in the way Ollie followed his lead. How he was immediately hooked on him and moaned at his touch. The latching onto his neck made Henry's cock move, Ollie always able to instantly make him hard, especially on that particular weak spot. If Jo was blushing, Henry's face must have been on fire. He smiled shyly at the compliment. "Of course, I don't want to impose, so the couch is fine."

He was sitting as he waited for Jo to return, but then rose to his feet again once she entered the room. "Oh, no, I'm up pretty early." He confessed, still smiling, "I like to go for a morning run."

If only Henry knew the truth of his relationship status, not that he would blame him for assuming he was still married, he still wore the ring after all. "They'll be happy to hear you're back, even if it's just for a little while," Samuel did his best to ignore that Henry was likely only back for a short time, sure once the land was sold that he'd leave again and they'd likely never see each other again. He wanted to make the most of it.

"Jackie's five, she'll be six next week, I've ordered her some frizzle chickens for her birthday," he answered as he walked into the store, "such a gentleman~" he teased with a chuckle before grabbing a basket, figuring he may as well grab some other bits while he was in there.

"She loves chickens, was showing her some different breeds and she fell in love with the frizzles, can't blame her they're adorable," he pulled his phone out and pulled up a screenshot of the order, zooming in on the photo and showing him.

"Always," Henry says with a smile, the door shutting gently behind them. He did pride himself on being polite whenever possible.

"Oh, they sure are cute, I can see why a kid would love them. Jeanie has a few chickens, I should show her these." Henry didn't mind the chickens, but the rooster could go fuck himself, aggressive bastard. "They look very soft."

Henry searched down a few aisles and made his way to the produce section for the various fruits and veggies he needed for his green smoothies, lime being one of his favourite ingredients.

"What are you doing for her birthday? Having a party?"

Henry couldn't help but smile. Zeke's politeness and earnestness was very endearing. "Mr. Quinn?" Henry chuckled, "That was my grandfather's name, please, call me Henry." Zeke's hands were still soft despite the fact he was a mechanic that worked in manual labour. They'd touched long enough for Henry to notice.

"Not extremely far, just a couple of hours. I live in New Jersey just about 45 minutes from Manhattan. I had a house call of sorts out this way for work. I'm a cop, detective, actually, I hope that doesn't make you nervous. Some people aren't comfortable with that once they find out. But I'm off the clock today, and I don't look for traffic violations anyway."

Henry smiled, just to let the younger man know he wouldn't be busted for going over the speed limit or something else not in Henry's department. "How long have you worked for your aunt and uncle?"

"Oh, not at all. You're plenty smart, Quinn. Just not in some areas." Josh smirked playfully as he spoke, watching the way Henry's lips turned up into that smile. That damn smile he had always found himself obsessed with when they were in college. It was enough to make him melt, but he was not that kind of guy. Well, not then at least. Certainly not then. "Come on, would you have me any other way?" He didn't entirely want the answer to that, so he moved on quickly when he heard Henry's response about his training and career.

"When it comes to you, I guess I have been pretty stupid in the past. You've got me there." Henry often looked back on his feelings for Josh as embarrassing, that's he'd pined over a guy that didn't feel the same way. It wasn't an uncommon thing, probably happened to everyone at some point, but it still made him cringe when he thought about it. Seeing him again didn't help this fact, because some of those feelings were certainly still there, somewhere.

Josh was being sincere, Henry knew this because he was probably one of the only people on earth Josh had ever been sincere with. "Yes, it does, actually, it's the whole reason I went into this line of work. I wanted to utilize my skill the best way I knew how. I don't think Jeanie was expecting me to do quite that, because my degrees had been in forensics and criminology, but after the shock wore off, she understood I was doing what I had to do."

Henry rarely went into the details of his ability unless asked, it was hard to explain sometimes, and the things he saw were often upsetting. Josh had never asked him anything specific.

"I think it's about time for dinner, mind if I turn on the radio, too?"
