please don’t try to justify buying the new harry potter game guys there are so many other things u can do with ur time and money and if you ARE going to play it at least don’t make the situation worse by derailing conversations about the damage jkr has caused with attempts to publicly justify your choice.

i think thats the thing that frustrates me the most here. there is no need for there to be a conversation about how this game might be ok or morally correct to buy at all. the only reason for that conversation to exist is to shore up the feelings of people who want to play the game without guilt. it’s not helpful, or considerate to anyone. its selfish. it’s talking over the actual issue. if, despite everything, you’re going to play the game regardless of what anyone says, just play it quietly and dont make a big deal about it. accept that its a selfish choice. accept that it’s not a move that you can spin to make you look good. not everything in this world is about bending the definitions of things to ensure you look virtuous without having to change your behavior.

not to pull the 18 year old minor card but some of y'all really think people just magically become fully developed adults once they're legal. the difference between 17 and 18 is just a few months and it doesn't give you license to prey on teenagers. just because something isn't gonna get you put in jail doesn't make it morally right. don't let the number 18 stop you from protecting young people, especially vulnerable teenage girls tricked into thinking they're "mature for their age"

thinking of the time I ordered olive garden online and I put "please speak to me in an Italian accent" in the special requests category and completely forgot about it, and when I went to pick it up the guy comes out and goes "eyyy I got-a your-a order bappada boopity!" and when I told him he didn't actually have to do it he was like "a-nooo I was-a looking forward to it!
