putting my thoughts of the new waterparks album here (not positive)

i love waterparks, ive seen them three years in a row (tickets still for next year to make it four in a row) they’ve been my top artist every year for three years running, one year all my top 22 songs were all waterparks - i met them earlier this year and it was the best day of my life

now we’ve established i like them and i’ve liked them since before the release of FANDOM i want to share my thoughts on this because ngl i’m really disappointed

first off - the most obvious for me - TEN YEARS OF ALPHABETICAL TITLES AND THEN IT ENDS??? no. i’ve heard the idea that greatest hits was g and h but then this just mean that intellectual property has just missed out jklmno so that doesn’t really make sense??

second , it definitely feels they’re catering more toward their ‘tiktok’ audience than the original fans?? and i completely get trying to get new listeners and changing your style but yknow don’t forget the of fans who got you to where you are ( and i know every parx album changed slightly but not to the extent of this)

third , the singles. some are kinda good ?? funeral grey and self sabotage are a maybe. but fuck about it??? no. awful. it’s so smooth, too smooth yknow? it might also just be having the first official feature or whatever but i’m not a fan. from all the videos live i thought it was going to be such a bigger drop (like a TANTRUM x turbulent crossover ) but no , that was so anticlimactic and it doesn’t give me much hope for real super dark either. i’ll be honest brainwashed sounds pretty good - but again that’s a live version that could change drastically.

i also fully do not believe this is all the bands fault. i mean we’ve seen what fuled by ramen has brought out recently (viva las vengeance and scaled and icy - tbf scaled and icy is better now but nowhere near as good as the others) it worried me when i saw they were with them but i was still holding out hope. By this point all hope for a good fifth album is leaving me but i’m trying to stay positive - i trust and love waterparks <3

hands down worst haircut did him Zero favors. I can in no way justify this hair.

the fact that he did this intentionally Boggles my mind. what was he THINKING

Black Parade Greased Weasel:

we're getting better but still dont think this did him a lot of favors. makes him look like he got dunked in a vat of olive oil.

Bullets Era Mop:

kinda cute, kinda dorky. and honestly only way i can justify it. looks like if you ran your fingers through it it would crunch.

The Kobra Kid:

ik a lot of people really like this one but honestly it just felt a lil basic to me. Also when he swoops it back it gets dangerously close to hershey kiss territory.

My Emo Beanie Boy:

I KNOOOW people hate this one but it holds such a place in my heart. this is Classic Mikeway. and he had sumn going here if he just showered.
