Mary peers at him out of the side of her eye, unsure, and asks, "Dean and...the angel. They're...close?" Sam glances over at her curiously, confused. 1b. Repeat. Sam shrugs, eyes returning to the road as he answers, "Um, yeah? They've always been like that. I mean, we've known Cas for like a decade. He's our friend." Mary furrows her brow, looking contemplatively out the window. Sam grimaces at the sudden thought 'Oh, god, she's thinking about ganking him, isn't she?' and jumps to reassert Castiel's importance. "Um. But he and Dean...they're bonded. Like shelter cats. He's like...Dean's most important person." He emphasizes 'most important' pointedly, then adds as an afterthought, "Other than me."

ID: 1. Rear shot of the Impala sitting at a stop sign on a 3-way intersection on a desolate country road, her right blinker flashing. From inside, Cas says "Dean, this is not the most efficient route."

2. Front shot of the car, the scenery shifting as she makes a right turn. Sam is in the front passenger seat, idly messing around on his tablet. Dean is in the driver's seat, calmly turning the wheel as he responds "This is the way. Trust me." Cas, leaning up from the back seat, replies "If you turn back and take that left we'll get there faster."

3. Dean whips his head around to glare at Cas, snapping, "I've done this drive a thousand times! I know what I'm doing!" Cas glares back and leans further into his space, hands braced on the back of the front seat. He snaps back, "I'm an angel with infinite knowledge, Dean. I know what I'm doing," emphasis on I. Sam, perturbed, eyes the argument with his shoulders pulled up in discomfort.
