It would be pretty chad if suicidal people could admit how they feel and seek support without being threatened with or forced into institutionalization. Everyone says “if you’re suicidal don’t be afraid to talk about it with loved ones and doctors before it’s too late!” but no one acknowledges why suicidal people avoid speaking up in the first place. When I was first put in a psych ward at age 14 I lied and told doctors I wasn’t suicidal at all because I was more miserable and scared in that place than home with my abusive dad where I could at least go places like school and see friends. Like, for fucks sake, if you want to actually help suicidal people accept and support them instead of shoving them aside as dangerous idiots who need to be locked up.
