will biting back like jonathan with the pink sweater but about mike's shitty knockoff outfit in california, because he felt like he was trying to be a different person; jane's boyfriend, not will's best friend. and him telling mike how much it hurt when he rejected his hug, blamed him unfairly at the rink and not paying attention to how jane was feeling. but always circling back and telling him how much he still appreciated mike wanting to be best friends and a team again.

they'd keep going and going like jancy but messier bc they're cripplinganxiety4crippinganxiety yapper4yapper but instead of things they dislike about eachother, it's secrets that they had kept in fear of hurting the other. about eachother's dad. names called that hit too close to home. letters never sent. the quarry.

and once they realise they only have a few minutes left to live, will asks mike to tell him just one last thing. because will's life started with hearing mike wheeler's voice, and he wants it to end the same way.

so mike tells will him and el broke up.

and will doesn't know what to say, or pretend to say, seeing as relief is redundant given the situation, and any hope of consoling his sister was gone. and we would've ended will byer's last line to mike wheeler the same way it started: telling mike the truth.

WILL AND HIKARU GO MISSING INTO THE WOODS AND GET TAKEN OVER BY SOME SUPERNATURAL THING, MIKE/YOSHIKI LOOKS FOR HIM. Im pretty sure theres more to this but i have no brain power atm...

I love tshd, i love st, i love yoshikaru, i love byler, i think these forces should join up because tragic and supernatural queer stories are really interesting and it might be my new favorite thing ever. Anyway i was planning to do more drawings but im in an artblock andim kindaaaa lazy BUT ANYWAYSSSSSS I HOPE YOU SEE THE VISION

I’ve been preaching that “if Will was a girl nobody would be questioning the romantic subtext in Mike and Will’s scenes” and I finally edited something together to prove it.

FYI: I had to slow down some of Max’s reactions and crop Lucas’s silhouette out of her shots. I also added the “On the Bus” music track over top of this edit to cover up some sound inconsistencies across these scenes. This is the track that was playing underneath Mike and Will’s scene anyway.

What I have NOT done is edit or distort any of Mike’s reactions, besides cutting out some content in the middle for time and doubling up one of the shots. Otherwise, Mike’s reactions here are exactly as you see them in the show. And I think that’s very telling.
