You do not get to force treatment on anyone.

You do not get to coerce people into treatment.

You do not get to punish people for not agreeing to treatment.

You do not get to obstruct patients from accessing treatments you don’t agree with.

You eliminate “uncooperative”, “resists treatment”, “manipulative towards staff” and everything similar from your vocabulary.

You do not make a diagnosis that the patient doesn’t agree with.

If you and the patient disagree, learn to agree to disagree. 

Even better, swallow your damn pride and admit you are wrong.

You do not get to pathologize things you don’t like.

You do not get to turn a patient away because of their diagnosis.

You respect the right of the patient to lead a mad, and even self-destructive life if they don’t want your help.

-If the parent consents to treatment but the child does not, and the child is old enough to understand what said treatment is, don’t force treatment on the child.

Sri Lanka returns containers of illegal waste to Britain

Sri Lanka has shipped back to Britain container-loads of waste that the government said was brought into the island in violation of international laws governing the shipping of hazardous material. They were meant to carry used mattresses, carpets, and rugs, but had also contained hospital waste, officials said.

singleminded and incredibly dedicated to whatever it is she’s focused on at the time (gets into and then goes to law school to get back warner, even though it breaks with everything she’s done in her life up until that point)

incredibly knowledgeable about her chosen point of interest (”it’s impossible to use half-loop top stitching on low-viscosity rayon”)

relies on routine and an established set of coping mechanisms (manicures; tries to schedule social events to maintain some sort of consistency) 

struggles with social cues (for instance, the way she delivers her introduction when she first arrives at school, the way she interacts with warner)

is incredibly smart (got a 179 on the LSATs) but struggles in school — has difficulty keeping track of her assignments (first day in stromwell’s class), has difficulty answering questions on the spot in class (”do they always do that? put you on the spot like that?”)

struggles with codeswitching in different environments (with her friends in LA, in the classroom, with the other harvard students, in court, etc)

when she does try to institute a change like this, she does it overly dramatically; she over-plays it — see: the outfit she wears for her first day of classes 

that line also — ”i totally look the part!” — that idea that what she wears, says, and does are largely performative (maybe also she’s trying to pass?)

uses overly formal or informal language; language inappropriate to the context (”and i am fully amenable to that discussion” when warner is breaking up with her; the ‘valley girl’ language she uses at harvard)

has difficulty identifying sarcasm and mocking (the costume party)

is set up in the narrative as out of place in her social environment 

the narrative about elle ultimately winning the case because she uses her existing skills, knowledge base, and passion rather than What She Learned In Law School ™ is also, like, a really strong neurodiversity narrative

The vast majority of autistic people see good representation in Entrapdak. Many shippers are actually autistic. If they say that, but you not, it is good representation. If good rep makes you uncomfortable, you are ableist, easy as that.

Now, this does not mean that you have to actually like the ship or the characters. Just stop pretending you are morally better or an good ally for hating it. You are not. Not at all.

given her unemotional response to seeing bow and glimmer in s2, despite my initial predictions to the contrary, i assumed that entrapta simply wasn’t that bothered by her perceived abandonment anymore. 

yet, in s3, she tells adora outright that she felt abandoned, after making sure to hide her face from adora’s view. in the alternate universe, once she remembers the true reality, entrapta tells adora that it was nice to be her friend, implying that she understands now that adora hadn’t meant to leave her behind at all. regardless, entrapta had truly felt hurt thinking that adora didn’t care about her all that time. 

s3 highlighted entrapta’s desperate desire for connections with others. she’s often been dismissed in fandom as someone who doesn’t care about others/friendship, even though the only reason she was separated from the rest of the princesses was because she refused to leave her friend emily behind. this is an unfortunately common misunderstanding about autistic people. some people, whether allistic or autistic, aren’t interested in forging bonds with other people, but being autistic doesn’t automatically make that the case. just because we struggle to understand the emotions of allistic people and find it easier to connect to animals/robots/etc. doesn’t mean we don’t want to have human friends. 

entrapta very, very, very obviously wants friends. she built robot parents and robot friends for herself because she had no one else, not even casual visitors, all this time. 

she even admitted to hordak that she struggles to fit in, and by doing so, she revealed that she cared about that. this was something that catra recognized as well, and exploited in order to manipulate entrapta. entrapta “failed” to properly connect with adora or catra, and this made her feel discouraged, but she didn’t give up. she kept trying to make friends. 

she even had a program on her computer devoted to logically analyzing her friendships with others. it was her attempt at making sense of allistic people. she used a similar type of logical approach towards friendships during the princess prom in s1. 

she was excited that hordak considers her a lab partner and a friend. she was upset about losing her closest friend and tried to make excuses to spend more time with him. in the alternate universe, she created robots, whom she referred to as her friends, modeled after scorpia and hordak.

entrapta didn’t get mad at scorpia for repeating herself or fixating on one topic (in her case, catra). she simply verified that scorpia had told her this before and then let her continue talking about it. i think this is particularly interesting because entrapta has probably been told to shut up countless times because she wouldn’t stop talking about her special interest: technology.
