My stats after beating Dante Must Die mode on Devil May Cry 1. My normal mode rankings are only that high because I replayed the game once to get more items.
The Holy Water on Griffon 3 could've been avoided, but I used it because both the boss was so close to being killed, and I was also one hit away from dying, so I preferred to avoid the frustration of getting unlucky.
I gave up on Nelo Angelo's final encounter, the amount of damage he does is insane. I was too impatient to learn his attack patterns.
Holy Water is useless on Nightmare, especially since I broke his cores on the previous encounters, so they were used on Nelo Angelo in the Nightmare World. Untouchable was also used because I didn't want to risk dying in Nightmare's berserk stage it enters at the last of its health. I tried emulating this YouTube video (Mission 20 DMD SB - Nightmare with 2 red cores!), but I wasn't as skilled as that player.
Finally, Mundus. I did that battle the hard way with no items (besides yellow orbs) in all my other playthroughs, and I just wanted to get this game over with, so I just cheesed it with the items. I do believe I could've done phase 1 legitimately if I tried, but I was too lazy.
Also, for the final Mundus encounter where he's all mutated in the final mission, I did have to use 3 Yellow Orbs because my previous method of just using Ebony & Ivory didn't work on this mode.
Anyways, overall, I did have fun with Devil May Cry 1. Such a great game. I do remember that my initial playthrough months ago that the camera was a bit frustrating, but not the worst thing in the world. I also thought that the game would be scary for some reason. I also had no knowledge of anything about DMC, including the gameplay or characters, I only had general knowledge of it the way most gamers of general knowledge of things like Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil. Anyways, Dante was better than what I expected him to act like. The gameplay was also pretty good. When I first started the game up, I never would've expected to become skilled enough to beat the hardest difficulty. Actually, when I replayed a completely new Normal playthrough in order to beat the game without using a Yellow Orb, it was actually a lot easier since I got used to the game's controls. Super Dante is also such a great reward for whenever I feel like revisiting this game in about another year or so.
For now though, I'll take a break from Devil May Cry and try to beat some other games I haven't tried out yet. I'll likely make a post on my blog whenever I start my journey in 100%ing DMC2.
I beat DMC1 three times on normal mode (a first playthrough, another first playthrough to get the no yellow orbs achievement, and a third one to grind for items for DMD after hard mode), and once on hard mode.
Essentially, I beat the game a total of 4 times before I did my Dante Must Die playthrough and didn't skip the cutscenes, so I basically watched them all 4 times.
This means that I choked when I finally beat DMD and Dante's line as the airplane leaves Mallet Island surprised me.
Anyways, I don't feel like touching DMC in general for at least a week, but at least I know that if I do return to DMC1, I now can play DMC1.

When I barely finished mission 17 (final Nelo Angelo fight), I find out that apparently after beating Hard mode, you unlock the ability to select the difficulty of subsequent playthroughs.
I had no idea about this, so I ended up doing all of the secret missions (since I completed none in my first playthrough) as well as blue orb fragments on Hard mode since I didn't want to do them on Dante Must Die mode. There's a total of 12 secret missions and I already did 10, and I also almost have almost all the blue orb fragments, so I might as well do the rest on Hard mode.
But man, I really do wish I knew earlier. At least now though, I don't have to worry about replaying the game from the beginning since I missed some enemy files exculsive to Sin Scythes (only on Normal mode), and I didn't want to restart from the start for that.
Maybe this is me being brainrotted after over 100 hours of Resident Evil, but rewatching season 5 episode 15 where Dean and Bobby fighting off those zombies, I really was reminded of Resident Evil.

Now that I've played and beaten Resident Evil 4 (2005), including the Separate Ways campaign, the voice lines of the enemies infected with Las Plagas is stuck in my head. Especially as a Spanish speaker, it's pretty easy to remember and repeat. Though, I wonder how similiar/different the Spanish will be once I play the Remake tomorrow.
DMC Netflix Anime makes Dante stereotypical TikTok Wacky WooHoo Pizzaman and I hate Adi Shankar for this dumbification of Dante.
Dante's character is complex, since his time as Tony Redgrave. He has this shell around him to protect others, it was about depth to his layer beyond the surface.
I just couldn't help but remember how subtle 2007 DMC anime was and how every lil detail tells a whole layer of complexity to ponder upon by the viewers and think.
Be it ride back home after his childhood friend calls him a monster, or him calling Patty his daughter, or him commenting how an ugly heart will always out do a pretty face.
Whatever shit that is produced, it is deplorable.
Dante is an intelligent character. In DMC, his office is littered with Pizza boxes, beer bottles, and books!
He reads....people who believe in the dumbification of Dante might find it hard to digest. He is just subtle in his way of loving, caring, and every other emotion.
I somehow also dislike Capcom for allowing this Trash.
I can't believe that the new Star Fox game is real. I'm also shocked that it is yet another remake of Star Fox 64, but I guess I shouldn't have expected an actual new entry in the series...
