You are in the most trouble ever, oh my god.” *DOOR EXPLODES INWARDS AS LOVED ONE ARRIVES* and the alternate: *vehicle pulls up, door opens, person is shoved out, door slams, vehicle screeches away* “Did you get kidnapped??” “For a minute yeah”

Whenever you feel embarrassed by publishing a short chapter for your fics I urge you to look up the per-chapter word count of your various fav books and you'll feel much better. Unless you rly like to read books written with insane chapters. But most of the time you'll feel better. I personally think it's weird that it's like, expected practice for fic chapters to be like 15k words. Because 9 times out of 10 if your chapter is 15k words you could probably do with some serious editing slash cutting the chapter into parts and working on your pacing,

I say this as a guy who used to write chapters that were between 9k and 20k btw. It's ok to struggle with these things. But you just need to remember that number of words doesn't equal quality ok. I believe in you
