Tommy always worried about Liam, he couldn’t help it. Having a son that couldn’t feel pain, and was bullied as a result of that, well, who wouldn’t worry? After the incident with John kids, and the kids from Liam’s school, however, that fear only grew worse.

He felt himself just wanted to bundle Liam up in bubble-wrap and bring him everywhere with him. He was even nervous about letting Liam go out to play with Finn. Although, he knew he couldn’t keep Lee locked away forever.

He watched from his office window as Lee waddled after Finn towards Jeremiah Jesus’ house. A very excitable Isiah quickly hugging his dad before joining the Shelby boys. Liam rushes to hug Isiah, and the older boy didn’t hesitate to hug him back before picking him up and heading off towards the cut.

Tommy sighed, sitting down at his desk and attempting to get on with his work. He trusted Finn, and Isiah for that matter, with Liam; It was the other lads he didn’t trust. He just hoped, prayed that they kept a close enough eye on his little boy.

Finn watched as Isiah pretend to be much slower than he really was, letting Liam catch him as they were playing tig. He fought to keep in a laugh as Isiah dramatically acted shocked that Liam caught him.

“How are you so fast, Lee?” He pretended to wonder as Liam broke out in a fit of giggles.

“You’re just really slow, iz,” he laughed. Isiah gasped in mock offence.

“You little monster,” He said before launching into an attack of tickles. “How dare you.” Finn stopped holding in his laugh at that and instead joined Isiah’s attack.

“Stop,” Lee stammered in between laughs.

“Not until you admit that I’m a fast runner.”

“B-but you’re not.” Isiah gasped again, continuing to tickle to boy. After a couple of minutes Lee caved in. “F-fine! You’re a fast runner,” He exclaimed.

“Thank you,” Isiah said stepping away, Finn did the same. “That wasn’t so hard was it?” He beamed at the boy. Liam moved his hand to rub at the tears of laughter that had formed on his face, trying not to press down too hard.

After that the boys went to Charlie Strong’s yard to see the horses. Isiah making sure to hold Lee’s hand as he had a tendency to run in the stables excited and spook the horses. Isiah remembered clear as day the ice-cold fear he felt when he saw the horse buck, he only just managed to grab Liam before the horse cracked his skull open.

“Hello, boys,” Charlie greeted.

“Hi, Charlie. We were wondering if we could see the horses?” Finn asked politely. Upon seeing the hesitation on Charlie’s face Isiah spoke up.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got Lee. I’ll make sure he doesn’t hurt himself.” Charlie nodded.

“Alright, but only for a little bit, Curly and I have to clean the stables soon.”

“Thank you, uncle Charlie!” Liam exclaimed, pulling on Isiah’s hand.

“Hold on, Lee,” Isiah started, crouching down to the boy’s level to make sure he had his attention. “I need you to promise to be calm around the horses, okay? I know you love them, but you don’t want to scare them, yeah? And I don’t want you to get hurt. So, promise me, yeah?”

“Okay, I promise, iz.”

“Okay. Good.” He stood up again, keeping a hold of Liam’s hand. “Let’s go then.”

Tommy had tried, and failed at getting his work done. His mind to preoccupied by his anxiety over Liam’s safety to be able to focus on the business. Liam was the only thing that could keep Tommy from working.

He decided to go see Charlie and see if he’d seen Liam. He knew his boy loved horses, so that was the most likely bet.

“Morning, Charlie,” He greeted in his usual emotionless voice.

“Morning, Tom. Finn, Isiah, and Liam are in the stables if you’re looking for them.” Tommy nodded, heading to find his boy; he needed to calm his disquiet. He stopped at the door, seeing Isiah holding Liam on his hip.

“Slowly, Lee. You don’t want to scare her, do you?” He heard Isiah say quietly. Liam shook his head softly, and cautiously lifted his hand up towards the mare. It sniffed softly at the boy’s hand. Liam let out a little giggle, making the corner of Tommy’s mouth curl slightly.

“Tickles,” He whispered to Isiah.

“Yeah, they do that,” Isiah chuckled back. Finn was just standing in the corner watching the other two boys, much like Tom was doing. He and Tommy locked eyes, sent each other a small smile and a nod-silently agreeing to not interrupt.

The mare tilted his head down slightly, giving permission for Liam to pet her. Lee turned to Isiah, his blue eyes full of awe and a silent question.

“Yeah, go on, Lee,” Isiah encouraged, cause Liam to smile and gently run his hand along the mare’s head.

“I’m doing it, iz,” He whisper-yelled excitedly.

“I know,” Isiah replied in a breathy laugh. “I’m proud of you.” If it was possibly, Liam’s smile got even wider. Tommy felt like someone was pulling on his heartstrings. His beautiful boy seemed so thrilled to do something as simple as pet a horse, he wondered if Isiah being there with him made the little boy more excitable.

Suddenly, the bubble was burst as Charlie walked in, followed by curly.

“Right boys, sorry but times up.” Isiah pulled Liam away, placing him back on the ground and taking ahold of his hand. When he turned around a saw tommy, a look of pure shock covered the boys face.

“Hello, Mr Shelby,” He said. Tommy smiled at him.

“Hello, Isiah.”

“Lee, wanted to pet the horse,” He explained nervously.

“I know, Isiah, I saw. I was just checking on on him, but I can see he’s in good hands.”

“Iz,” Lee said, pulling on the older boy’s hand.

“Yeah?”

“Can we play hide and seek? Me, you, and Finn?” Lee looked at Isiah with pure awe, as if the boy was a prophet.

“Yeah, of course we can. Coming Finn?”

“Yep. See you later, Tom.” Finn chirped, following his best friend and nephew.

“See you, boys.” Tommy watched them walk away for a moment, before heading back to work. The worry he once held gone after witnessing the love Isiah seemed to have for his boy.

A few days had passed and your dream had come to an end. You were hoping that when you got back to arrow house you’d be able to enjoy the feeling of being engaged for little bit longer before it was ruined, but, of course, your further in-laws were there, waiting for you and Tommy. You sighed, knowing that they weren’t here to be friendly to you.

“What’re you lot doing here?” Tommy asked the second we were in front of them.

“You just disappeared, Thomas. Where were you?” Polly asked. Her eyes flickered to you for a moment, disgust filled them. You tighter your grip on Charlie’s hands ever-so-slightly.

“I went travel with my son and my fiancé, Pol. I made sure the business would run smoothly, I don’t see-“

“Your what?!”

“My fiancé; my future wife.” Tommy’s voice was filled with pride as he spoke up you.

“Tom,” Arthur began. “She’s with you for your money, brother, are you blind?” Arthur, unlike Polly, didn’t sound angry, he sounded genuinely concerned.

“I’ve had enough of this bullshit!” Tommy exclaimed, exasperated with this whole ordeal. “(Y/N) will be my wife; she’ll be our family, and you lot have to learn to live with that. She’s not with me for my money, for fuck sake!” Tommy’s shouting must’ve scared Charlie because he started wailing. Polly went towards him, but he turned around and grabbed on to your leg.

“Mummy, why’s daddy angry?” He cried. No missed what Charlie had called you and, even though you saw him as your own, you knew you had to correct him. You pried him away from your legs, crouched down to his level and placed your hands on his shoulders.

“Sweetheart, I love you, but you know I’m not your mummy,” you said as softly as you could. “But, I love you so so much, okay? And I know your mummy loves you too.” He threw himself into your arms and you didn’t hesitate to hug him back.

“Why’s daddy angry?” He asked again.

“Daddy’s not angry at you, sweetheart. It’s grown up stuff, and I know that’s annoying to hear, but I’ll tell you when I’m older.”

“Promise?” He sniffed, wiping his eyes on the back of his tiny hands.

“I promise, baby,” You cooed, placing a kiss on his head. “Come on, love, you’ve got violin practice,” You spoke softly, taking ahold of Charlie’s little hand and leading him into the house, sending Tommy a small smile as you did.

You were sitting listening to Charlie play the violin when Tommy called a family meeting, and, since you were going to be his wife, he invited you along.

“(Y/N), took you long enough, eh?” Tommy said, he sounded slightly annoyed.

“Sorry, I was busy supporting your son,” You bit back. “Why am I here, Tommy?”

“Because we’re going to deal with this situation-“ He gestured between you and his family. “-because I’m sick of this.”

“We’re just looking out for you, Thomas; she’s using you,” Polly spoke softly.

“Tom,” You sighed. “I’ll just sign a prenup, problem solved!” You exclaimed in mock celebration. “So, can I go now?”

“No, no you’re not signing a prenuptial agreement.”

“Wh-what?” You stammered, looking at Tommy like he was an alien.

“If I die, I’m not leaving you with nothing.” He stood his ground. You looked around the room and, for once, it seemed like Polly agreed with you.

“I can look after myself, Tom. I was doing fine before we got together!” You spat.

“Yeah, you were working for me.”

“I had a job before I worked here. I left that job to work here, I didn’t need to work here.” You rolled your eyes. Did he really think you’d perish without his money? “For fuck sake, Tom, I don’t need nor do I want your fucking money!” You shouted, his family believed you only wanted his money, did Tommy believe that too?

“You don’t want it, no? Then why do you let me buy you all those expensive dresses and jewellery? Eh? Tell me that, (Y/N),” He replied, his face was still stone-cold, as always, but you could hear him getting pissed off.

“Because they’re fucking gifts, Tom! I don’t like expensive dresses and jewellery, but I wear them for you! You fucking idiot, Tom,” You sighed, exasperated. “I hate having to be posh and proper, but I do it for you.” You looked at the floor, not wanting to meet Tommy’s gaze.

“Why?” He asked.

“Why what?”

“Why do it if you hate it?” His brows furrowed in confusion.

“Because I love you, Tommy,” You spoke softly, walking towards him. As you stood in front of him, you placed your hands on either side of his face. “I love you, Tommy, I’ve never been ‘proper’ and I don’t like it, but I’ll do it for you.” He placed his hands on top of yours.

“You don’t have to be ‘proper’, love. I fell in love with you before you started acting ‘proper’, didn’t I?” His soft voice flowed gently into your eyes, his slight chuckle at the end painting a smile onto your face.

“Tommy, can we going travelling again soon?” You whispered, feeling guilty for a reason you couldn’t determine.

“You wanna do it again?” He tried to hide it, but you could hear the slight confusion in his voice.

“Yeah... It was fun.” You shrugged, looking at your shoes bashfully.

“Okay,” He chuckled slightly, and god did you love that sound. “Okay, we can go travelling again, not sure when but we will.”

“Yay!” You squeaked. “Charlie‘ll be so excited.” You smiled at him.

“I think he just wants to see you try and ride a horse again.”

“Shut up, I wasn’t that bad,” You laughed, playfully hitting his arm. Tommy placed his hands on either side of your face, slowly bringing his lips to yours, dancing gently together.

“I can’t wait to marry you, love,” He whispered as the dance ended.

“Well, you’re gonna have to wait, Tom, because I’ve got a lot of planning to do,” You giggled, he smiled down at you, pecking lips yours once more before turning to address his family once again.

“(Y/N) and I are getting married, and that’s that. So, suck it up and deal with it, yeah?” He wasn’t really asking so much as telling. No one said anything, they still didn’t trust you, but no one had seen him like that since before Grace died and it’s always easier to be around Tommy when he’s happy.

“Correction- it’ll be perfect,” Sarah encouraged as she finished your makeup, a bright smile painting her face.

The Ivory a-line you’d dreamt of since you were a girl was on. Your hair was styled perfectly, thanks to Mary, and your makeup was perfect, thanks to Sarah. Your perfect groom awaited you. You took a deep breath, stood up and said: “Okay. I’m ready,” You enthused. “Let’s do this.”

You walked down the isle, nerves eating away at you. Kicking your dress forward slightly with every step you took towards Tommy.

“Hi,” You whispered as you stood in front of your future husband.

“Hello. You look breathtaking, my love,” He whispered back. Your exchange of whispered words was halted as Jeremiah began to speak.

“We are gathered here today, in holy matrimony, to celebrate to coming together Thomas Michael Shelby and (Y/N) (Y/M/N) (Y/L/N).” Jeremiah spoke clearly and loudly, his voice bouncing off of the walls of the church. As Jeremiah continued, your eyes never let Thomas. His crystalline eyes staring into mine, a smile plastered onto his face.

“Do you, Thomas Michael Shelby, take (Y/N) (Y/M/N) (Y/L/N) to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, through sickness and in health, til death do you part?”

“I do.”

“And do you, (Y/N) (Y/M/N) (Y/L/N), take Thomas Michael Shelby to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to, through sickness and in health, til death do you part?”

“I do.”

“Then, with the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride,” Jeremiah exclaimed happily. Thomas wasted no time, placing his hands on either side of face and planting his lips on yours. Cheers and applause were heard behind you. When the two of you finally broke the kiss, Tommy smiled at you while you chuckled nervously. Tommy was the one to grab your hand and pull you back up the isle. Outside a photographer waited, ready to snap some pictures to remember the day by.

After a long, loud, party, you, Thomas, and the rest of the Shelby/Grey clan headed back to Arrow house. You gave tommy a quick, but loving, peck on the cheek and headed upstairs to get changed. You took the dress of and carefully hung it up. After you dresses in some more comfortable clothes, you couldn’t help but stare and the dress. How could this have happened to me? You pondered. Married to the love of my life(even if his family hated me) all because I got a job. You smiled to yourself as Mary opened the door, an excitable Charlie in her arms.

“Miss (Y/L/N)- I-I mean Mrs Shelby,” Mary said, quickly correcting herself. “Charlie wanted to see you, I can look after him if you want?”

“No, it’s fine. Thank you, Mary. You should get some sleep, I know he can be a handful sometimes,” you giggled, taking Charlie into your arms. She smiled back at you.

“Thank you, Mrs Shelby. Good night.” She politely left the room, closing the door behind her. You sat on the bed, making silly faces as Charlie laughed. Soon though, Polly appeared. She opened the door silently so you didn’t notice her. A slight smile graced her face as she saw you with her great-nephew.

She sat next to you, but didn’t say a yo thing as you looked at her. Suddenly, her hand slide over your stomach.

She smiled slightly. “You’re good with him. I hope you’ll be just as good with this one.” She looked at her hand on your stomach, your eyes widened as you realised what she was implying. She gave you a knowing smirk as she left the room. Gently, you placed Charlie on the bed, one hand still holding him as the other went to your stomach.

Hunter grinned as he looked at himself in the mirror. The new suit has dad bought him made look, at least in his opinion, even more like a man. He ran his through his, now, short hair. Turning side on just so he could stare at how flat his chest looked. Granted, he was finding it a little difficult to breathe, be his chest was flat!

“Hunter!” His dad called. “Family meeting!” Hunter let out a strained breath before straightening his back and heading downstairs. He sat down next to Pol, his father standing in front of him.

“Right, we’re all here, so, Arthur, why’re we here?” Thomas’ eyes kept flickering between Arthur and Hunter. A leech seemed to began squirming around him Hunter’s stomach as his father’s eyes darting between he and his uncle.

“Linda says she needs to say something.”

“We need to talk about Hope,” Linda began, quickly being cut off by Thomas.

“You mean Hunter?”

“No, Tom, I mean Hope, your daughter.” Hunter felt tears gather in eyes at his aunt’s words. He wrapped his arms around his waist, holding himself together. “She can’t just change, Tom. She’s just playing dress up.”

“Linda. That’s my son you’re talking about! Would it fucking kill you to refer to him as such?!” Thomas shouted at his sister-in-law. Tommy would admit, it’s difficult to adapt, to accept, but he’d seen Hunter when he was called a girl. He never thought anything of those reactions at the time, but now that Hunter’s come out, Thomas could see it so clearly. Ever since he was a little girl, he never wanted to wear dress and he was so convinced he should be using the same public toilets at his dad.

“Tom, she’s just a girl wearing boys clothes, can’t you see that?” Linda replied. Hunter couldn’t deal with his aunt’s word anymore. He stood up, his chair crashing into the floor as he ran to his room. Sliding down against the door, he cried.

“Fuck sake, Linda!” Tommy shouted. “That’s my fucking son. Now either treat him as such or get the fuck away from this family!” Spittle flew from his mouth as Tommy screamed at her.

“You’d really disown me for calling your daughter your fucking daughter, Tom?!” Linda was angry, but there was no disguising the hurt that plagued her voice.

“No. But I will fucking disown you for calling my fucking son my daughter! You better fucking fix this attitude of yours Linda or you can get to fuck!” And with that, Tommy left the room and rushed upstairs to make sure his son was okay.

Tears ran down Hunter’s face as he looked in the mirror. Not even five minutes ago he thought he looked like a man, thought he looked like himself. But now, his face looked so feminine. Blood gushed from his hand as it smashed into the mirror, the reflective shards scattering onto the floor. He fell back on the his bed. Why couldn’t I just have been normal? He thought to himself, why do I have do be this?!

“Hunter,” Tommy murmured as he took in the scene. He could hear his family arguing downstairs, but he couldn’t find it within himself to care. His boy looked so broken. He looked to the floor covered in mirror shards, some had blood decorating them. He let out a breath making his way to the bed, he sat down, placing a hand on Hunter’s shoulder. “Hunter, look at me,” He spoke softly, his heart breaking as he gazed at his boy. Hesitantly, Hunter lifted his head to look at his dad.

“Why do I have to be like this, dad?” He whispered, a desperate twinge to his voice.

“C’mere.” Tommy opened his arms, embracing Hunter as he tried to think of how to comfort him. “It’s alright, my boy. Your gonna fine, doesn’t feel like it, I know, but you’ll be okay. I’ll make sure you’re okay.” Tommy promised, tears burning his own eyes as he felt sobs tearing through his son’s body.

“Linda.” Tommy could hear Arthur say from downstairs. “I love you, right, I do. But if you don’t fucking put a lid on it I’m gonna fucking walk. You better fucking fix this.” The door slammed shut. Not too long after, the light click of heels could be heard coming to Hunter’s bedroom. Linda’s eyes widened as she looked at the state the room was in, the state that Hop- Hunter was in. Tommy’s arms tightened protectively around his son. If she says one fucking thing that hurts him, I’ll fucking gut her, Tommy thought.

“Hunter,” His voice was shaky, the word feeling unfamiliar in her mouth. She took a deep breath, “I’m sorry for what I said. You’re not a girl playing dress-up, you’re a... a man... and I’m sorry for saying any different.”

“Get out,” Hunter mumbled from the confines of his dad’s shirt.

“Sorry?” Linda said.

Hunter pulled his head back slightly. “I said, get out,” He gritted out through clenched teeth.

“Get the fuck out, Linda!” He shouted. And she did. Hunter cuddled into his father. Tommy just held him as he cried. At that moment, Tommy vowed to do everything in his power to protect his boy, everything in his power to make his boy happy. He’d do anything for the boy crying his lap. Anything.

He’d done it. He’d finally done it. No more ‘Hope’;she was dead. He’d cut his hair, shaved the sides and back just like his father did. He grabbed some bandages, wrapped them tightly around his chest before grabbing one of Finn’s suits and dressing himself in it. He raked his fingers through the small tuffs of hair at the top of his head. Looking at himself in the mirror, he let out a breath. Finally, he looked in the mirror and saw himself.

“Hope! Breakfast!” Polly called on him. He cringed at the name, looking down at his feet. It was now or never. Time to come clean; time to tell his family.

“Comin’, Pol!” He called back, cringing at the voice he heard. It didn’t sound like it should. He took a deep, cleansing breath and headed downstairs to face his family.

“Finn! Wait til Hope is here to eat, we’re not animals,” He heard Polly chastise. He cleared his throat, his heart racing as his family’s eyes fell on him.

“Hope,” His dad, Thomas, began.

“I’m not Hope, my name’s Hunter,” He tried to sound strong but his voice wavered, fear ate away at him but he had to do this.

“What?”

“I’m not your daughter-“ He gulped. “-I’m your son. And my name’s Hunter.”

“Wha-how?” His dad’s brows furrowed as he stared at him.

“I, umm, I was born in the wrong body. I’m a man, dad, I know I am.” He’s never been more scared in his life than when a pregnant silence filled the room. He shuffled his feet, waiting to see what his father was going to say.

“Okay,” His dad spoke slowly. “I’ll try to... understand it...”

“Thank you,” Hunter breathed out, tears of joy filling his eyes.

“What did you say your name was?”

“Hunter. My name’s Hunter.” His dad exhaled heavily.

“Okay.” He stood up, addressing the rest of the family. “This is my son, Hunter. And you’ll all address him as such. It’ll be difficult, but we’re gonna try, okay?” A sea of unsure “okay”s filled the room. Thomas wrapped his arm around his son. “Who cut your hair?” Tom asked.

“Me, why?”

“You missed a spot,” Tom said, poking his head.

“Shit.” Hunter’s hand flew back to find the part he missed.

“Hunter,” Tom chuckled slightly. “Don’t worry, I’ll sort it for you. Then we’ll go get you some suits so you don’t have to wear Finn’s.”

“Thanks, dad.” Hunter flung himself into his father’s arms, squeezing him tightly.

“You’re welcome.”

“Well,” Arthur’s gruff voice spoke up, “guess this makes you peaky-boy now, Ho- erm, Hunter... Sorry.”

“It’s okay, Arthur,” Hunter replied as he pulled away from his father, going over to hug his uncle. “Thank you for accepting me.”

“Of course, kiddo.”

“We’re family.” His dad began. “You don’t turn you back on family.”

A Shelby and Solomons. A doomed love if there ever was such a thing. But, Thomas couldn’t help falling for (Y/N). He was nothing like his brother, the only thing they had in common was their name and their accent.

They met for the first time in Alfie’s office. Thomas and Alfie has just made a new deal when (Y/N) came storming in.

“Fuck sake, Alfie! Will you stop having your fucking men follow me everywhere!” He shouted, he knew Thomas was there but he didn’t care. He was pissed. All he wanted was to have a somewhat normal life, but he couldn’t do that when he had Alfie’s men trailing behind wherever he went.

“(Y/N), this can wait,” Alfie spoke sternly, glaring at his little brother.

“No, it fucking can’t! I can’t live a normal life when there are randoms following me around!” Thomas just stared at (Y/N). That part of his mind he’d worked so hard destroy rebuilding itself as he looked at the younger man. He wasn’t much younger, he looked about thirty. As the Solomons brothers continued to argue, Thomas’ eyes took in all of (Y/N). He was a strong, handsome man and Thomas couldn’t help but let himself wonder what (Y/N) Solomons looked like beneath his shirt.

They met for the second time when Thomas went to visit Ada, his sister. He stopped on the threshold on the drawing room, shocked to see the Solomons brother that had plagued his mind with thoughts he’d fought his entire life to ignore.

“Tommy, this is (Y/N).” Ada smiled at her brother who continued staring at the young man. “Fuck sake, Tom. He’s not interested in me... or girls of any kind,” mirth laced her words.

“Ada!” (Y/N)’s eyes widened, darting back and forth between Ada and Thomas.

“Come down, Tommy doesn’t care. He sure as hell won’t go to the police.”

“(Y/N).” Thomas cleared his throat before extending his hand out towards (Y/N). “I’m Thomas.”

“Have we met before, Thomas?”

“I’m in business with your brother I believe.” Thomas’ heart was racing as he looked at the younger man, but on the outside he looked his normal cold, calculated self.

“Ah, so you’ve had the misfortune of meeting Alfie. I promise I’m nothing like him,” (Y/N) chuckled nervously, not only had Ada revealed his biggest secret, but she’d revealed it to someone that knew his brother. He’d never told Alfie,he never planned on telling Alfie. Alfie was the only family he had left, he couldn’t lose him.

“Will you let me talk to my sister, alone for a moment?” Thomas asked, he could see Ada adding everything up in her head.

“Of course,” (Y/N) spoke, his eyes trailing along Thomas’ body before he left the room, left the siblings alone.

“So,” Ada began, “‘re you gonna tell me what that was about?” She asked pointedly.

“What are you talking about, Ada?” Although he maintained his calm appearance, Thomas had never been more scared in his life.

Ada took a deep breath, recognising his fear. “Tom, I know we’ve had our differences, but your still my big brother and I’ll always love you no matter what. You know that don’t you?” Her voice had softened, as had her eyes, she needed her brother to know that she’d love him no matter what; she just hoped Thomas would understand.

“Yes, Ada. I’m aware.” Thomas’ could hear his heartbeat in his ears, could feel bile rises into his throat, feel sweat gathering on his back as his breathing started to pick up.

“So, you know I’ll love no matter what, right?”

“What’s your point, Ada?”

“You introduced yourself as ‘Thomas’, no one outside the family calls you that. And, you let him check you out. Tommy, do you... y’know... like men?” She spoke softly, placing a loving hand on your brother’s shoulder. “I don’t care if you do,” She quickly added, “and I won’t tell anyone if you don’t want me to.”

He tried to talk, but his tongue felt like lead in his mouth. He nodded, so softly it was almost unnoticeable.

“Okay,” Ada said slowly, nodding her head.

“Okay?” Thomas repeated, his eyebrows furrowing. His fear never leaving him.

“Okay,” Her voice was firmer this time. “And, I’m guessing, you fancy (Y/N) at least a bit.”

“For fuck sake, Ada, keep your bloody voice down. He’s in the next room,” Panic was thick in his usually cold voice.

“Tom, (Y/N) likes men too, you idiot. And know that I think about it, I think you’re the ‘good-looking bloke that was in Alfie’s office the other day’.” She smiled, she hadn’t seen her brother act nervous since before the war.

“I wasn’t the only person visiting Alfie that day, don’t be stupid. Anyway...”

(Y/N) couldn’t stop himself, he knew it was wrong, but he listened in to Ada and Thomas’ conversation. He hadn’t forgotten Thomas’ face, how could he? Thomas was beautiful. His ocean blue eyes. His chiseled face. His jet black hair. His... everything.

He asked Alfie who he was, but all Alfie said was: ‘don’t get involved with him, (Y/N).’ But (Y/N) wasn’t known for following Alfie’s orders, why should he start now?

When Thomas started to talk to Ada about business, (Y/N) stopped listening. When he heard Thomas walking out the door, however, he jogged out to catch him. He’d never been more scared in his life, his heart was racing as he spoke:

“Thomas.”

“Yes?”

“Right, well, erm, okay. See you later I guess,” (Y/N) spoke, instantly kicking himself for sounding like an idiot.

“Okay,” Thomas chuckled. “Goodbye, (Y/N).”

They met for the third time when Thomas came to his house.

“Hey,” (Y/N) mumbled as he opened the door, his nerves eating him alive. It didn’t help that his brother was glaring at his date.

“Hello, (Y/N). Ready to go?” Thomas asked, his voice clear and firm.

“Aye. See ya, Alf,” He exclaimed before shutting the door behind him.

“It was kinda difficult to find a place we could go,” (Y/N) began, “I mean there’s clubs but someone might recognise you, so, I thought we could go somewhere more... private. Only if you’re okay with that,” He added quickly.

“Where is this ‘more private’ place?” Thomas inquired. He didn’t want anyone to see him, but he was also aware that he was going on a date with Alfie Solomon’s brother, so, he was wary.

“There’s a spot near by that’s isolated at night, it’s just over there-“ He pointed to the north-east.

“Alright.” Thomas nodded.

They sat there talking to each other for hours, getting to know one another-jobs, interests, aspirations, family, friends, and everything in between. Both men, for the first time since France, could feel butterflies in there stomach as they slowly inches closer towards one another. Hearts race as lips brush together.

The first time the family found out about the relationship was after Arthur saw Thomas and (Y/N) together. They were careless, sharing a moment of passion in Tommy’s office when Arthur walked in to see them with their tongues down each other’s throat. He whipped around to tell the rest of Shelby/Grey clan. Thomas and (Y/N) rushed after them.

Ada knew, and Polly didn’t seem fazed, the boys, however, all looked perplexed.

“Well, what’re gonna say, Tom?” Arthur grumbled, but a wave of worry flushed through his words.

“What do you what me to say, Arthur?” Thomas asked rhetorically before clearing his throat, “everyone, this is (Y/N) Solomons, my boyfriend.” At the mention of ‘Solomons’ the full family-except for Thomas and Ada- went wide eyed, staring at Thomas as though he was an alien.

“Thomas,” Polly began. “Did you say he’s a Solomons?” She asked in disbelief.

“Yes. He’s Alfie’s younger brother, but he’s nothing like him. He has nothing to do with Alfie’s business.” (Y/N)’s eyes darted back and forth between the family members. He was terrified. But he had to stay strong for Tommy, for the man he loved.

“Tommy’s right. I ‘ave nothin’ to do with my brother’s business. I’m nothin’ like him.” He takes a breath. “I love Tommy, I wouldn’t let my brother stop me being with him and I won’t let you. (Y/N) mentally kicked himself for saying that, but then Polly smiled.

“You’re gonna fight the Peaky blinders to be with him, eh?” Polly asked, mirth tracing her words. (Y/N) gulped. Took in a deep breath.

“Yes. I would,” He spoke with his chest. Arthur stepped forward, but Polly grabbed his arm, pulling him back.

“I trust him,” She spoke.

“You what?” Arthur spat.

“Call it gypsy intuition, we can trust him. We’ll still keep an eye on him, just to be sure, but for now, we can trust him.” (Y/N) let out a sigh of relief, as Polly smiled at him. Then Thomas decided to speak.

“If any of you have a problem with my relationship, keep it to yourself. Speak of it and I’ll have to shoot you, family or not.” Everyone in that room knew he wasn’t lying and agreed.

“Very good. Back to work then.” Tommy grabbed (Y/N) hand, dragging him upstairs to his old bedroom.

“Tommy,” (Y/N) giggled, “you can’t be serious.” Tommy looked at him, his eyes blown with lust.

“Deadly, my love.” (Y/N) fell back on the bed, Thomas climbing over the top of him, leaning down to capture his lips. As their tongues danced, they tore at each other’s clothes. Tommy kissed his collarbone down to chest before moving back to his lips. (Y/N) lifted up his hips, sliding down his trousers and boxers. Tommy did the same.

Tommy warms up some oil in his hands, before carefully pushing one finger inside of (Y/N), working him open while sloppy kisses were shared between the two.

Eventually, Tommy rubbed a generous amount of oil over his cock before gently rocking into (Y/N). Low groans filled the room as Tommy starts to softly thrust. “For fuck sake,” Tommy groaned.

“We know, Finn,” Ada shouted.

“Tom! You takin’ it or givin’?” John asked. (Y/N) giggled at Tommy’s exasperated face.

“I’m gonna kill my own fucking family. If they don’t shut the fuck up,” Tommy complained.

“Aww, you poor baby,” (Y/N) cooed, placing a kiss on his lips and cuddling into him. “Can’t wait for Hanukkah, slash, Christmas this year. Should be great fun.”
