Based on the responses a few rules will be in place:

-The server is mainly adult oriented. There may be a channel for nsfw specifically but the rest of the server is completely SFW

-Minors can join but will be separated from the adult side. There will be one general chat and one disability related chat where all ages can interact which both will be heavily moderated due to safety reasons

-Systems (doesn't matter what kind) will NOT be permitted to join. If you have DIAGNOSED d.i.d. or o.s.d.d. you can join IF you have credible proof. I'm not taking sides as I am not a system, but from what I've observed systems already have enough spaces.

-This server will be as user friendly as possible including screenreader accessible.

-Self-diagnosed people are welcome to join but will have expectations to follow. This is not due to anti-self-diagnoses it's for safety reasons. Once you see the expectations it'll make more sense.

-This server is NOT designed to diagnose people. Nobody is permitted to diagnose each other. No exceptions.

-ALL ages are welcome (13+). It doesn't matter how old you are. Again, minors and adults will be separated as much as possible.

-People without a disability are welcome to join as well! The server isn't 100% disability oriented. There will be channels specified for disability talk but other channels will just be general to talk about anything (sfw ofc unless otherwise specificed)

This is a disability focused server BUT it will still be extremely welcoming to able-bodied people.

I will also be releasing another form for people to fill out based on the server.

This server is meant to be a safe space and will NOT be similar to other discord disability servers.

I also want to say that I am an ADULT. This server is geared more towards adults than minors.

Many discord servers are focused around minors. Adults need their space but with that being said, minors with disabilities should be able to be social with other minors that are disabled.

Debating if I should just keep channels separated and locked based on roles.

I'm still trying to figure it out but I think a poll would be best.

The most common epilepsy death is Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) followed by status epilepticus

Audism is very much real and something people with hearing problems face quite often.

Examples include but are not limited to:

-Denying closed captions

-Taking advantage of someone's inability to hear

-Feeling as though closed captions are an inconvenience to you as a hearing a person

PLEASE IF SOMEBODY TELLS YOU THAT THEYRE HARD OF HEARING AFTER YOU’VE REPEATED YOURSELF A COUPLE TIMES DO! NOT! SCREAM! AT! THEM!!!!

It’s the most disrespectful thing you can do and it’s the easiest way to get them to ignore you.

Please the best way you can help them understand you is to RAISE your voice somewhat and ENUNCIATE your words, or SLOW DOWN how fast you are speaking.

autistic people may also find it hard to interpret verbal messages within the context of the video, so it's useful to have written alternatives to fall back on

some people live in a conservative household or with family who don't share the same ideals, and they may not have privacy to view things on their own, so they may need to watch things with the volume extremely low or muted
