#I'm going to be okay

Tumblr was one of the leading ways that I stopped being a homophobic piece of shit. I remember the post, seeing two boys kissing, that was finally the last straw. It was so beautiful, and I saw nothing wrong with it, and I wanted to learn MORE.

When my mother was abusing me, I had friends to turn to and forums FILLED with sexual text - about what’s consent, what’s not, and how to stay safe.

When I wanted to learn more about fucking the same gender as myself, I could. And I was able to teach other people about SAFE sex - something that my school didn’t do. Until my first boyfriend, Tumblr was my BEST source of sex education.

When I didn’t understand trans kids, I looked it up on Tumblr. I saw their transformations, rooted them on from my conservative living room. When I was questioned, I knew there was nothing wrong with being trans, even if I was or wasn’t.

I learned about asexuality, and sex repulsion (apothisexual), and they were brands I was able to wear until I found that sexuality might be fluid after all.

Then, when I was being abused AGAIN, I was able to look up the right resources for me. You know what? I even (GASP) became a sex worker later on and made some money.

And this whole time, Tumblr was this giant resource for me.

I reported the child porn blogs. I reported the people preying on me, and the Nazis, and the sexist assholes, and the racist rants. I tried so hard to help people do better for themselves. I tried so hard to make sure other people could LEARN. Because I needed to know the stuff I wasn’t being taught since I was in grade school. If you don’t sex ed to people, they get preyed on, and abused, and defeated.

But Tumblr didn’t take down the Nazi blogs, and my posts could get in trouble for my rants against them. They didn’t take down the actual MAPS, who I fought in droves against. Hell, they barely helped us during the 4chan Invasion (yeah I meant it, I’ve been here awhile). IIIIIII had to do that. WE had to handle that (for those who don’t know, a bunch of 4chan dicks posted animal mutilation on the site and tagged it under so many fandoms and pretty tags that it wasn’t even funny. And I was up during that night, shaking, reporting picture after picture after picture after picture).

The people who bullied me got to do it. The assholes who tried to groom me got away with it, and got blocked. They got BLOCKED. But the teachers, the artists, the brilliant minds in this site are gonna get removed? You’ve already started???

Listen, new Tumblr-staff. I know you got bought out. I know you fucks are brand fucking new, and I’ve been here a lot goddamn longer than you.

They told me the s.o.b. would be hurt in jail. That they wouldn’t survive.  7 months...and they were let out for good behavior.

Good behavior? They ruined my life.

They went on to hurt more kids. And when people hurt me, I didn’t bother reporting. I had gone through painful therapy that felt like it did more damage than anything else, and I went through the pain of his family blaming me only to come near my house and watch me. And for me to be blamed for “fucking up a good thing”.
