Breakdown of Lioden's Company Accounts (and a game they abandoned)
TLDR: Lioden has a really complicated ownership structure and it is difficult to assess their actual earnings. The structure looks something like this:
Ocia Ltd. (owns Lioden, Ocia Offices, and Ocia Spark) –> Evosaur Ltd. (owns Lioden) –> Lioden Ltd.
A few days ago someone said it would be interesting to see how much Lioden makes from stuff like Black Friday, so I looked into it. If I knew what an undertaking this would have become, I probably wouldn’t… but I’m here now. Writing this for the last hour. Help.
Lioden is a UK-registered company, meaning they have to report this information on the company register, Companies House. Their last filing was in July 2025 covering up to 31 October 2024. However, there was some other interesting information before that…
1. Lioden is associated with a company called Evosaur Ltd. Searching for Evosaur reveals that it was (seemingly) a dinosaur version of Lioden/Wolvden, which was up for a while, but is now inactive. You can find its Tumblr blog here. It was run by the same people.
2. Lioden appears to be a subsidiary of Ocia Ltd. This seems to be a holding company for both Lioden and Wolvden.
3. The directors between Lioden, Evosaur and Ocia are not the same. Abbey directs Lioden and Ocia. The person who I am assuming is Kitty directs Lioden and Evosaur. A third person, who appears to be related to Abbey somehow, directs Ocia. The balance sheets are also different. “Kitty” also appears to have two directorate accounts on the company register. The first hold Lioden and Evosaur, while the second hold Valliance Property Ltd (relevant later) with an apparent relative, and Thimble and Trinket Ltd, which is unrelated to Lioden
Anyway. Accounts. DISCLAIMER: I am not a business person. What I am about to say could be inaccurate. Look at the company register yourself for clarification.
Lioden has two official employees. I believe these are both the directors, who are Abbey and (taking a guess here) Kitty. Xylax is not officially employed by Lioden Ltd, but may be under one of the other two companies.
Lioden had £532,000 ($700k) in savings as of this time period, down from 589k the year prior.
It owed other people £328,000, most of which was on “taxation and social security”. This is things like National Insurance, HMRC debts, etc. This type of debt accounted for around 80% of the amount.
Lioden profited a total of £208,000 as of 31 October 2024.
Ocia has 4 employees. Don’t ask me, I don’t know.
Ocia appears to have multiple subsidiaries of its own: Ocia Spark and Ocia Offices. Offices is listed as “letting and operating of own or lease rental estate.” Appears to imply that Ocia engages in property activity as well as owning Lioden. Spark does a bunch of stuff, but is primarily used for consultancy. Here’s their website.
Ocia made £161,000 up to 31 October 2024. It owed £3,000, but this was all to its own companies.
Ocia has way more fixed assets than Lioden. Lioden has only “plant and machinery”, whereas Ocia has fixtures and fittings (£1000), motor vehicles (just under £60,000), and computer equipment as well (£2,000). Seems consistent with Ocia Spark being consultancy, and has probably registered employee vehicles to the company (this is speculation!!).
Ocia owes trade creditors and taxation around equally (£1600 and £1700 respectively).
Ocia rents from Ocia Offiices - they owed £12,000 in this period. Ocia Offices holds one share in Ocia.
Has 1 employee. Tracks with Evosaur being inactive for a long time.
Appears to be some kind of holding account. Minimal activity (£2000 tangible assets, £1000 owed, £145,000 profit but only £6000 increase year-on-year).
Has £3000 fixed assets in fixtures and computer equipment. Not sure how to infer this.
Owed £1 by Valiance Property Ltd, whose owner may or may not be related to Evosaur’s director based on matching surname.
OCIA SPARK (pls lioden i’m tired now)
Profit of £138,000. Year-on-year of +£20,000. 2 employees. Only has plant and machinery (£4500). Owed £15,000, of which 11k is to Ocia Ltd.
£490,000 profit. Year-on-year loss of £2000. 2 employees.
Fixed assets: improvements to property (£60,000), fixtures and fittings (just under £3000).
Fixed asset investments: £721,000
Ocia Offices appears to be/have some kind of residency, as the creditors section lists “two deposits held by the two tenants in the property” at £5400.
Owes £11,000 to unnamed creditors within one year, and £311,000 to unnamed creditors after more than one year.
Ocia Spark paid £10,000 to Ocia Offices and Ocia Ltd paid £17,000 for rent.
There are three main people behind (but not exclusively) these five accounts: Abbey, “Kitty”, and “Abbey’s Relative”.
Between them, the companies are in a 2024 profit of £1,142,000
At least one of these undertakings appears to be a residency property, but I could be wrong
It is not clear if, or how, the money flows through the Lioden main account into/from the others.
I have a new year’s resolution not to do a deep dive like this again
