i think I'd have less of a problem with proshipping (and all other related "fiction isnt real" things) if the stuff they say aren't quite genuinely contradictions, or else proving they are just as weird as most presume them to be.
for one, the fiction doesn't affect reality is horrible, because it can be disproven many ways. however when either sides bring up an example someone may or may not have acted on fiction, the other side always says "well most people would know better!" or some general statement so that it seems inconclusive. please. in fact, i could give many personal experiences where people acted adjacent to what they consume in media, but it's just common sense I would think.
also they are generally very supportive of all things? like nsfw art of real people? and fanfic porn of real people? does that extend to ai porn of real people? because the past examples were bad as well and you can't say this doesn't affect people at some point. i particularly hate when they say or draw or write anything that concerns child actors... which you think would be a given?
