i promise I READ OTHER FANFIC AUTHORS TOO but this is old and i just remembered it after drawing those pennywaynes yesterday. just. leave me be . jason at the klurb with his big brother and his grandma who only he can see á la Dead Man’s Party.

i as a personal preference prefer the waynes when they are at their most symbolic, which is part of why i like morally ambiguous (or morally unknowable) waynes. but thats a side tangent

i think the wayne murders work best when its unsolved forever. not that bruce doesn’t try because i think he does and would revisit it over his career but that there is simply not enough information to know & its been too long to find out. i think this functionals better for bruce because it makes every other case he encounters a chance for him to ensure that what happened to him (both in the loss and the cold case nature) doesn’t happen again.

in comic stories were he does know who did it i do prefer its a nobody, even better if no justice can be had (i.e. hes dead or otherwise someone bruce wouldnt want to enact “punishment” on.) the only exception to that is reevesverse bc we technically know it was the mob (as much as we possibly can) but i think that functions well in that specific universe and its versions of the characters.
