Burrito Hypnosis
I’ve done hypnosis for so long and had so many jobs related to it as well as interviews with people about what the hell it is that I do.
And the most common thing I get from people, is how?
And don’t get me wrong I can get the mystical side of it given that so many of us discovered it through cartoons and other mediums where it’s not portrayed as a skill but as a mystical object based power…. it’s understandable that people believe becoming a hypnotist is learning to use your hands to fire off invisible waves of hypnosis.
But the thing people don’t realise sometimes, is that the belief of hypnosis in a mystical setting is what makes it so effective! That belief that looking at a watch will put you under does nothing but help us when we offer to hypnotise you, and the belief that you can do anything opens up amazing doors to what we can experience together.
That being said even if you’re a skeptic, You’re awesome for being that skeptical. We don’t see it as a challenge it’s a learning curve.
Case and point, the Burrito induction.
So I had a skeptical friend online who was partial to hypnosis despite having little understanding about it all. He would question each induction and step despite not really wanting to go fully under because he believed it was roleplay. Which in a way isn’t wrong but isn’t right at the same time….
So he mentioned that the burrito someone made him was terrible and how the harder he tried to hold it the more that dropped out the bottom. Seizing the opportunity I began talking to him about how its like a mind being bombarded with suggestions, he confusedly asked how that was relevant as I began suggesting to imagine it….
A mind, wrapped up inside that burrito, each topping added in expanding the fluffy tortilla as it struggles to cover its precious cargo, small inserts of sauce filling the void.
Making your mind struggle to think about the level of concentration needed to focus, but so safe within, and the more you add the harder it gets to focus, your mind clouded away inside it, each layer pushing and pushing, begging for release, each little bit of pressure making the tortilla shift and tear.
Until, that moment, when the smallest bit of pressure escapes, and the cool air hits you, it’s relaxing but still shocking as it reaches out, cool and calm as more escapes, and you feel your mind tumble,
and Drop.
*giggles* and that cool air calms you into a new level of bliss as you feel more ready to find your feet in the new day. Up up up. :)
