Does someone know what the hell is the reason for this? How did queer identities get so entangled with glorifying regimes that were very much not queer friendly?

I think it's a very misunderstood reaction to "rainbow capitalism." They didn't think the problem was "capitalists commodifying queer identities to get your money without actually caring about queer rights." They thought the problem was capitalism, and obviously the solution is communism.

A friend's child, aged 7 or so, learned about human reproduction and was appalled. Found it utterly disgusting. Scowled fiercely at the parents and informed them severely, "you've already got two children, that's plenty. If I get another little brother or sister, I'll know what you've been doing!"
