Cannibal with a preference

this is the original mask, from Friday the 13th Part 3D

it is molded after a Jacques Plante Fibrosport street hockey mask, a real object with a purpose

And then the redesign comes by and it looks like this

And idk, it bothers me cause it doesn't look like a Hockey mask. it looks like a Jason Mask. Like in the original movie, the character picked up a physical object to hide his face and it became his iconic look. And the redesign only exists because Jason wears a mask. It does not have a context anymore. They made the eyeholes angrier and the chevrons bigger to further emphasize the mask is angry. It's trying too hard and it looks cheap. The fibrosport looked plain and it worked better. It was neutral. it had a context outside of the character. the new one would not exist without Jason. Unreal object that is only there because it needs to be. Reworked because it needs to show it is different to the old ones somehow.

idk. who cares. i find the round eye holes endearing. he's like a shark.
