Heya guys, while I'm waiting on getting a part-time job I decided to open up my old Ko-fi account to start doing commissions. I'll only be doing sketches for now since I wanna start out small.

Hero prophecy but I took it literally.

Alright, buckle in because this is gunna be a big dumb ramble that I'm not sure will get my point across.

I feel like everyone makes memes and theories a lot about Gaster without seriously thinking much about who he might've been as a person and how he's going to fit in within deltarune's themes of escapism and the feeling of being left out/forgotten.

So here's what I think:

He seems to be the type of person who indulges in his own work a lot, a scientist who doesn't really have a moral compass when it comes to his experiments. Because why should he? After getting shattered across time and space he's practically become enlightened about the true nature of his world. There's no reason for him to care about anyone there when it's all just a game to him. His only interest is US and what we can do, always striving to see everything till the end. But maybe he's always been sorta like that before getting shattered.

Since he's implied to be related to Sans and Papyrus, I wonder how that affected his relationship with them. Btw, I never really subscribed to the idea that he's their dad lmao. I think him being the middle child makes more sense and more tragic. Because of course, it's a common trope that the middle kid in the family always gets overshadowed or unacknowledged. Or similarly that one friend in the group who's getting third-wheeled or replaced *cough*. The odd one out, as you could say. (hmmm who does that remind me of, I wonder…. looks at a certain apple-scented human) *cough cough*

I think that before everything went wrong, Gaster got way too caught up in his own work because nobody bothered with him, and he probably didn't even have anybody who he could connect with either. Shit, maybe his own brother Sans never bonded with him that much. He might've tried to but it clearly wasn't working. Perhaps it was because their values were just too different...

From what we've seen so far in deltarune, Sans doesn't seem like the type of person who knows how to handle serious situations compared to undertale. Instead, trying to brush things off and make up for it in a way that doesn't involve being direct or vulnerable abt it. Basically being avoidant. He practically dismissed Susie being uncomfortable at the end of chapter 4, and told Toriel that she shouldn't be too worried about both of the kids in chapter 5. Yes, he did restock the fridge and everything but again, he doesn't really acknowledge to both of them that he mightve made them uncomfortable. In the weird route he seems to know something's up, but again doesn't really do anything about it besides giving us bread that might be important

So what am I trying to get at this? Sans is a complicated person who seems to care about the people he's close with, but he doesn't know how to handle them when they're going through something. And maybe that's why Gaster decided it was best not to bother with social connections. Finding more joy in his creation rather than interacting with people who aren't emotionally there for him. And once he doomed himself because of it, maybe that's why Sans started to prioritize his relationship with Papyrus more. Praising him and giving him attention and all, because he regrets not being there for his other brother and wants to make up for it.

One more point, we don't really know what Sans' deal is with putting off our meeting with his "little brother". We don't even know if it's papyrus or not lol so I won't go too much into it.

All I want to say is that I think the skelebros being a dysfunctional family like the dreemurrs and holidays would be interesting as they would all have one thing in common:

"Uuu, My color changed! Does my name change, too?!"

This chapter was pretty meh for me but I still enjoyed some of it tho.

Sketches of a concept I wanted to make into a comic, but I've been too busy and Chapter 5 will come out soon, so this may or may not age well.

First of all, the game and even the owner of the horses themselves ship them. In real life, they’re buried right next to each other. I don’t know what to tell you but it’s very clear that they have a special bond in the game as well.

Second of all, we don’t even have canon ages. Both sky and flower are relatively young and are in the same division (junior)
