Something I haven't seen anyone talk about before is the parallel between the pilot episode and 3x06. I'm talking about this scene in particular.
It's a beautiful scene, partly improvised, but I'm talking about the framing. The background, the lighting-- for a moment there it doesn't look like they're in the streets, but it looks like it's a confessional booth. More specifically, it looks very similar to Louis' confessional booth from the pilot episode.
In the pilot episode, Louis has this really emotional confession, after which Lestat comes in, kills the priest, and they 'get married'. We don't know how much Lestat heard of his confession, but we don't need to know. Lestat knew, because he read his mind. He knew what Louis was going through, knew about his deepest, darkest thoughts and desires and all about his shame. And still, on the altar, he wanted to spend the rest of his immortal life with him.
In 3x06, this is paralleled. This is the reveal of Lestat's biggest, most well-kept secret (through really unethical means but this is not about that). Lestat didn't want for it to be revealed in this manner, but he later admits that deep down, he wanted Louis to know.
So Louis has everything revealed to Lestat, and Lestat still loves him and wants to be with him. Lestat then also has everything revealed to Louis, and Louis holds him and kisses his hair and tells him it's going to be okay. He still loves him, and later on in the episode he confirms they're back together (in some capacity).
They take turns in the confessional booth, but the result is the same. They love each other no matter what and it brings them closer together.
Bleach Painting I did of Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Leioncourt on a bench from season 1. Super hyped with how this came out.
On the back is the quote from episode one that Lestat says to Louis before giving him the Dark Gift.
On the outer sleeves are a cassette tape for IWTV and some vampire fangs with the Vampire Lestat logo.
i feel like a lot of people don’t understand that Claudia’s defining trait as a character is the fact that she is a memory. she is a concept. i keep seeing people complain that “she was out of character in the seance scene” or that “she would never say that.” but you don’t know what she would say!! everything we know about Claudia is someone else’s interpretation of who she is—INCLUDING the seance scene, which is still in lestat’s perspective. even on the rare occasion when she does speak for herself, we’re still seeing her through someone else’s eyes. we will never know Claudia’s version of the story because she is dead.
this inspired me
I can't believe Armand killed Larry.

I feel for everyone who isn’t having the time of their fucking lives with The Vampire Lestat. Every week I clap and cheer for the antics of the world’s saddest buzzword-laden bisexual crash-out diva and his crew of the least healed men to ever grace the small screen. The songs are cringe delightfully camp, the wigs are a nightmare, I’m living my best life, I’m loving every second. Why the fuck would you have a blood shower in your tour bus. The onscreen mother-son incest is only like the third wildest thing happening in any given episode. It’s insane. I never want it to end
listen. dementia sucks dude. it’s fucking heartbreaking taking care of a loved one who doesn’t even know who you are most of the time
but you know what makes this disease even more hell on earth? how fucking annoying it is
my grandma’s brain resets—I’m not kidding—every ten seconds. she will ask me the same question over and over and over and over and over again until i am about bursting with madness and begging to go to sleep bc at least then i will be unconscious
Dealing with this right now.
Just to add on the- aggression when the confusion doesn't alleviate. The more you answer questions and the more they don't compute, the angrier she can become. I'm normally my grandma's favorite person and today she wouldn't even look at me because I told her she was in the hospital and she didn't have to preform a song if she didn't want to. She was convinced she had to sing and was nervous. (She didn't have to sing for anyone)
Doctor: "You need to remove stress and make sure you're getting 8 hours of sleep or else you're going to most likely have a stroke. "
Me, who works nights and takes care of my 80yo grandmother that has dimentia: "Thats going to be really difficult to do. "
Doctor: "Oh well, sounds like a you problem. Figure it out, or you're gonna have a stroke."
happy holidays!

When you go in blind to the only movie at the AMC that isn't a goddamn mega-sequel and end up going'wait, holy shit this fucks, who made this?' for two hours of dark fantasy and magical realism stuffed with practical effects and puppetry and stunning set design and costumes only to get smacked at the end by the realization that apparently we now live in the era where Bryan Fuller wrote and directed and produced a new movie and Tumblr hasn't informed me a full week after it came out. There were five people in my showing. Please see Dust Bunny this Christmas.
It was amazing and I was disappointed that the nearest amc theater to me only had one or two showings a day. This movie deserves more support! Definitely a must see.
Watching Robin Hood for the first time in forever and it's hitting way closer to home than I would like.
