Congratulations to Hideki Matsuyama for winning the Masters at Augusta! By accomplishing this feat, he became the first Japanese to claim a men’s major championship.

Do I believe Matsuyama is invested in American politics, no. But is he impacted by them? Was he advised about how to insure his safety in these uncertain times? Absolutely.

Real estate is one of the best ways to generate wealth. 

Traditionally, the commercial real estate industry is an industry someone gets into because you know someone. It’s also not a very diverse industry (only 4.6% are Black). This has created a self-perpetuating ecosystem that lacks diversity.  

SXSW panel voting is open now and there’s an application called Closing Generational Real Estate with Real Estate. The panel explores how we can disrupt that ecosystem by providing minority students with CRE education, experience, and opportunities to help level the playing field.

The husband goes to his wife and asks her, “Honey, I noticed that Billy looks different from the other children, did you have an affair?”

The wife starts to break down into tears and nods her head.

The husband, heartbroken, quietly asks his wife, “So who is Billy’s father?”

MULTIPLE people in my life have told me they can “tell” I’m “self conscious” because I look at my feet when I walk and they say it like they want me to open up about some social insecurities, like I have some wall they’re about to break down and we’ll have a moment

And I tell them the same truth every single time:

As a kid we had two MASSIVE Holly trees in the backyard and my dad and my uncle, both well meaning but perhaps poor planners, said “yes a great place for a swing set is directly beneath those.”

So they built it there and the issue is that entire section of yard was a Minefield of dried Holly leaves with one final mission before they became dirt which was to Stab themselves into a child’s foot

And being that my siblings and I had some feral rage aversion to wearing shoes, we took to running to the swings on our tiptoes, staring at the ground for the leaves

And to this DAY I still look at the ground when I walk out of habit formed by a decade of that

I’m playing with my hair because I have ADHD and can’t stay still.

“I can tell you’re lying because you’re looking up and to the side.”

I’m looking up and to the side because I have ADHD and can’t hear you if I’m looking directly at you.

“I can tell…”

“Dad, I.. I think I’m gay.”

“Albus Severus Potter, you were named after two headmasters-“

“Oh God. Dad, I’ve already heard this. I know how this ends.”

“One of them was gay and-“

“For the love of all that is magic, I get it!”

“He was one of the bravest gay wizards I’ve ever known. Brave, but gay.”

“Please stop.”

“BRAVEST GAY HEADMASTER ALL OF HOGWARTS HAS EVER HAD!”

“…”

“Were you safe, son?”

“Yeah. I made him wear a condom.”

“Well, as long as you were safe about it. Congrats on the sex, honey. Let me go get the cake.”

“Mom, I had sex with a guy.”
