A little blue bird, done with fountain pen, Sumi ink, watercolors, and gold leaf papers. Just another excuse to test gilding paper, one test that more of less succeeded amongst a pile of total fails. Slowly getting there:)

"Gangsta monkey" skull study inspired by an amazing picture from the talented @oddarticulations, go check his feed! . Been a while that I wanted to paint that little bugger and his gold tooth, & I finally got my hand on some gilding paper. That was the perfect piece for my first gilding attempt. My room is full of gold flakes now, damn that shit is hard to contain... . I also got tired of shop frames, & have been experimenting with Plexiglas framing to give more a ruff/ industrial look to my paintings. I think I am going in the right direction but it's the last time I cut plexiglass myself, it's impossible to be precise😖 . Let me know what you think

Today´s study: A Bongo skull from @yorkshire.skeleton.museum collection, done with fountain pen and Sumi ink on paper. . . The bongo, Tragelaphus Eurycerus, is a forest antelope living in Western and Central African forests. . As the only forest bovid that forms small herds, the bongo relies on the shrubs, bushes, and trees of the forest for both food and cover. Herd size ranges from 5 to 50 animals and is made up of mostly females and their young, most males are solitary. . The bongo is a very elusive species, and it is easily startled by humans. It is thus very difficult to study. . The bongo is the only species of spiral-horned antelope in which both sexes have horns. (at Puerta del Sol Madrid)
