for the first time in forever

Get to know ANNA ARENDELLE who’s TWENTY- FOUR years old and works as a ICE SKATER in town  She is from CORONA and is often times mistaken for WILLA FITZGERALD while others say she reminds them of ANNA from FROZEN.

anna let out a little giggle at her friend’s words. “and you’re so sweet and beautiful and amazing,” she returns the compliment. how they ended up on this track, she doesn’t really remember, but now that they were here she wasn’t going to back down. encouraging and boosting people up was one of her best skills, if she did say so herself, and really there were a million things she could say for and about teri. “you’re like the best dancer i’ve ever seen.” @terithemuse

“they’re notecards - for all the reasons i have that elsa should step down from the business,” she answers, explaining the mess that cluttered up their usual table at the coffee shop. there was still a space open for hans to put his drink and his arms if he wanted, anna made sure to leave that, but otherwise the entire table was littered with a bunch of little cards. “i thought we could go over them together? and weed out the ones that you think aren’t really strong enough - or add more if you don’t think this will be convincing enough. i just... i just want to make sure whenever i do this it’ll go over well.” @hansoftheisles

“that’s super sweet.... but i don’t think that’s quite true in this case,” she states as she looks down at all the boxes of new deliveries to be moved around in the back rooms. candy was surprisingly heavy and some of them just from a glance anna already knew were going to be far too much for her to handle. but she also didn’t want to seem like she was a quitter in front of her boss, so with a big breath she put on a smile and turned to grab first one of the lighter boxes. “but i’m sure we’ve got that! between the two of us we can figure it all out.” 

“You’re just being modest,” Elsa shakes her head, though her smile was still present. She looks around at everyone nearby as Anna wipes the chocolate from the corners of her lips. “I am too, surprisingly,” she admitted rather happily. Even though the events were never really her thing, she was having a good time so far. Immediately noticing her sister look around, she raises a curious eyebrow until she hears the question she’d been waiting for Anna to ask. She’d been avoiding talking about her date since she first mentioned it to Anna, but she knew her sister would find a way to question her eventually. “Well, sure, I mean …. ” she was clearly blushing by this point. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear nervously. Anna didn’t know much of anything about Elsa’s secret dating past, so even though this wasn’t Elsa’s first real date, it felt new for her to talk to her sister about this sort of thing. She continued to try to brush it off, but she had a feeling Anna would ask more questions anyways. “… It’s really not a big deal or anything..”

“No, I mean it,” she insists, crumpling up the napkin in her hand and look at the older girl sincerely. It was true - as far as Anna was concerned her big sister was the prettiest person around. It was a sentiment she always thought but tonight, dressed up in that beautiful blue gown, it was like Elsa shined even brighter than normal. Though a big part of that could also be from the fact that for once the eldest Arendelle girl was actually letting herself enjoy the event. Something Anna picked up on immediately, even if she already knew that might be the case considering it was the first time she’d ever seen her sister go out with someone. “Of course it’s a big deal! It’s a date! All dates are a big deal.” Or at least, to a hopeless romantic like her they all would be. Looking around once more for a second, she leaned forward to grab Elsa’s arm and give it a small squeeze. “This is exciting, Els! What are they like? Are they handsome or pretty?”

Noticing her sister approaching her, Elsa gave a friendly smile. Lock had mentioned he’d have to help his sister with something for a minute, so she didn’t mind spending some time with Anna while he was busy. She was still being a little hesitant to talk to Anna about her dating life, though there was no particular reason why. Really, she was so used to being secretive about these kinds of things, it just seemed normal to her. “Thank you, Anna. You look beautiful as well,” Elsa replied, though she couldn’t help but notice small traces of chocolate on the corner of Anna’s lips. She giggled and offered her a napkin, “I can see you already got into the sweets.. Are you having fun?”

“Not as beautiful as you, though,” she promises, grinning wide right before a blush warms her cheeks as Elsa holds out a napkin to her. Taking it with a thankful smile, she’s careful to wipe at her lips and just hope she isn’t messing up her makeup too much. “I am! What about you?” Bunching up the napkin in her hand, she looks around a bit for a moment to see if there’s anyone coming over towards the two of them. Once she decides the coast is clear, she turns her attention fully back to her sister. “Having fun with this mysterious date of yours?”

“i know i didn’t - but i wanted to,” she answers with a shrug, grinning at the other girl. up until these past few years anna had never really had friends to buy presents for so there was a chance she may have gone a bit overboard getting multiple things for all the people that had become important in her life - including tiana. holding out the big gift bag once more, she shook it a little bit as she waited for her co-worker to take it. “you might already own some of this stuff so i left the gift receipt in there in case you want to exchange or return anything.” @tiasbeignets

staring at the tree, anna mentally debated what the best plan of action would be to take on trying to tackle the upper portion. back when they were kids, father would simply lift them up to reach the higher branches or follow their instruction of where to place it himself - but without him around anna had no clue what they should do. and with this being the first year she and elsa are actually decorating the tree together, it had to be perfect. “do we have a ladder?” she asked her sister the moment elsa came back into the room with another box in her hand. “or do you think it’s stable enough to try to climb it? how are we supposed to get the star on top?” @elsarendelle

“right?! i really thought we were going to win at least some kind of prize or category,” she responds as she pulls her phone back to look at the pictures of the gingerbread house she’d made in the winter festival contest. it would have been fairly obvious to anyone else that hans was being a bit of an asshole with his comment, but all sarcasm flew right over anna’s head. “but it was still fun regardless. the whole festival was! until the storm, of course. but it was nice spending time with you and lily rose - you should bring her around some time. oh!! do you think she’d like to see one of our christmas shows at the ice palace?” @hansoftheisles

An eyebrow raised, Hans looks back and forth between Elsa and Anna, doing his best to hide the amused smirk that curls on the end of his lips. There’s no question that his presence here is keeping them from talking about whatever it is they’re vaguely trying to conceal, but Hans is more than happy to play along, to pretend as though it’s completely believable that Elsa is nothing more than a weather enthusiast. “These weather patterns do sound quite interesting. I’d love to know more.” Not even Elsa, who has to be the dullest person Hans has ever met in his life, could possibly be that boring. “What could possibly cause a freak storm like this if the weather expects didn’t even see it coming?” he asks, trying to play the question off as casually and innocently as he can. “I’d be really interested to know your thoughts.” While all the signs are there he doesn’t actually believe that Elsa is the one causing the blizzard, not really, but there’s no denying just how suspicious it all feels. The sudden chill he feels whenever Elsa is around, Anna’s vague mentioning that she knows someone with powers, as though she has a social circle big enough for that to be just anybody. Even the way they’re talking about the storm now, as if there’s something they both know that he doesn’t, and he’s determined not to let the evening pass without finding out what it is. “Hot chocolate and blankets sound great, thank you Anna,” he smiles, now fully prepared to be here for the long haul. “How can I help?” @elsarendelle​

Elsa was practically cringing as Anna continued to talk about her being a weather expert. Though Elsa was typically good at keeping a poker face, it was hard to do so with how obviously fake this conversation was. She could feel Hans’ gaze between the two, and as Anna continued on, Elsa could feel her heart sinking into her stomach. Somehow, someway, she just had a feeling that Hans knew her secret by now. All the signs were there, with their odd conversation being the cherry on top; unless Hans was an idiot, which he didn’t seem to be, he just had to know by now. “Well…. I don’t, so maybe you should … ask a different weather expert,” Elsa answered rather coldly, her gaze toward Anna very serious. It was strange to hear Hans chime in, her attention turning to him as she tried to read his expression. A part of her swore he was holding a smug look on his face as he practically mocked their conversation, only giving her more reason to believe he wasn’t naive and understood what was going on here. “Well, it’s easy to become familiar with weather patterns when it’s much similar to business. Checking trends, going through data from previous years, understanding the current environment… But instead of, well, businesses, it’s all about … the weather.” She surprisingly kept her tone calm and casual, as if anything she had just said wasn’t completely made up in the spur of the moment. Though, his next question grew her suspicions even further, and she gave him a cold stare that she hoped Anna wouldn’t notice. “Well, as I just told my sister.. I’m clearly not the expert in this kind of situation, but I’m sure that another .. weather expert, may have more answers than I do.” Was this conversation ever going to end? She didn’t think so at first, but luckily the mention of hot cocoa and blankets finally steered them into a different direction. She found herself observing Hans more than she ever had before, uneasy by the way his tone and demeanor changed ever-so-slightly as they finally changed the subject. Was she looking into it too deeply? Anna would probably think so, but she always listened to her gut instincts. “Mother’s hot chocolate sounds perfect.. I can go grab some blankets if you two want to get the hot chocolate started in the kitchen?” She offered, just wanting to step away from them for a moment to compose herself and her thoughts. “I’ll meet you in there after I get enough blankets for everyone.” @skatinganna​

Barely giving Hans any thought, it wasn’t until Elsa’s cold words were directed at her that Anna fully stopped. Blinking a few times, the corner of her lips twisted downwards into a frown as she watched her sister turn her attention away and towards Hans instead. Maybe she shouldn’t have been discussing this type of thing in front of him and maybe she could have asked in a nicer way - but this was too big of a situation for her to just ignore and not talk about. Though with the way Elsa was reacting, Anna couldn’t stop the moment of self-doubt and paranoid thought that perhaps this was going to push her back into seclusion. With that in her head now, the blonde suddenly became determined to change the topic and try to fix whatever mess she may have just unintentionally made. “Okay,” she agreed with an enthusiasm that was quite obviously forced. Watching her sister for a moment longer, Anna followed along after her lead, turning to the man and offering a smile at him before leaning down to tickle at his daughter’s stomach. “Come on, Hans. Today you’re going to learn the most precious Arendelle family secret - Mother’s hot chocolate. We should probably also try to find something for little Lily Rose too, huh?”  @hansoftheisles​

With the way Anna was so excited to see him, excited enough that she was practically knocking things over, Hans expected a little more from her, especially when she prefaced the meeting saying she had something to talk about. But Hans is nothing if not patient, willing to let her get there herself. “Oh yeah?” Hans asks with an eyebrow raised, head cocked to the side curiously. In all the time he’s known Anna, he’s never known her to tell a short story, always going into far more detail than necessary to tell a simple story. The way she trails off, leaving it as “a lot of stuff” has his interest piqued, but he can’t possibly ask for more details without making it seem suspicious, like he cares a little too much about what Anna and Elsa talk about. “It sounds like you had a great time instead,” he settles for instead, taking another sip of his coffee. He hopes that he seems inviting enough, like he she can share more details if she feels so inclined. “I think it’s pretty normal for kids her age,” he chuckles as she tries to label his baby a genius. “I mean, I think she’s a genius too but I might be a little biased.”

“Yeah, we really did. It felt like… actually having a sister again instead of just another person living in the same house,” she confesses, hoping that Hans would understand what she meant. Because Anna wasn’t trying to say that Elsa had been a bad sibling in the past few years, she’d never even think that for one second, but having that moment together… connecting and Elsa opening up to her for once, that felt like real sisterhood. “Really? Huh. I would have thought that’d be later.” All the diaper commercials that had babies walking made them look so much older than Lily Rose. Or at least, she perceived them to be older than Hans’s daughter - but that could be completely wrong. Anna didn’t actually know all that much about kids or babies in general and hadn’t ever had a reason to bother looking into them. Maybe she’d do a bit of research before the next time she saw him - to get a better understanding of what the little girl might actually be up to or capable of at her current age. “But anyway. That’s not really what I wanted to ask you. Not that I don’t care about Lily Rose or about what you’ve been up to - I totally do. And if you want to keep talking about her or yourself I’m all ears to listen. I just… had something important I also needed to discuss with you.”

“kind of? come on now, you guys put this whole thing together and it’s absolutely magical.” it’s easy to compliment a friend, especially when she fiercely believes in what she’s saying. tiana may not know what exactly it is that anna contributes to the festival or her family’s company, but she’s proud of her regardless. “i am,” tiana nods, keeping her eyes focused on making her friend’s drink. “it’s real pretty and everyone seems to be having fun which is honestly good enough for me. i don’t get off for another half an hour, so not yet. but i’m sure my roommates will have a list of things for me to try with them.” or, lottie would have the longest list of all the girls. “what about you? are you and your sister enjoying it?” 

“well, i don’t really do much of it. it’s a lot of elsa’s work and then the executive board. plus all the businesses! they do most of the work,” she explains, feeling bad taking all the credit for the festival just because of her name. especially when anna really hadn’t done much of anything - even if she was the one that had originally suggested they move the winter festival to arendelle instead of keeping it corona city like it used to be before she and her sister took over her parents’ spots on the board. “i hope you guys all have fun! you should stop by the ice palace if you have time - i’m planning on spending most of my time there until the tree ceremony.” at the mention of her sister, anna brightens even more so and nods eagerly. “we went skating together! for the first time in years. it was nice.”
