Druck Episode 1 Clip 1Ā āMy generationā Transcript (1/?)
Jonas: My generation - whatever that may be - is more political, apparently. Maybe it seems like weāre more political because there are more obvious fronts. Nazis are back in parliament, Donald Trump in the White House, Wladimir Putin, Erdogan⦠Of course everyoneās against that. But I believe that most of my generation is unpolitical. Politics has become such a big part of youth culture that we forget that our āFuck Nazisā phone cases donāt make the reigning system stop pitting weak people against weak people. That our Fair Trade chocolate is better than the other one, but only a radical and determined fight for redistribution in the world is going to make every product fair. The generations before us still thought about utopias. We have given up.
Ā Pressure (on screen)
Hanna: Great, really good. Jonas: Really? Hanna: Apart from the fact that I feel like shit now because I never go to demonstrations.
Jonas takes out a cigarette and lights it.
Jonas: That was the plan. anything else? Annoying phrases or anything like that? Hanna: Isnāt saying āradical and determinedā saying the same thing twice? Jonas: No. With ādeterminedā, I only mean that you actually do it and donāt only talk about it. And āradicalā means using ways that actually have an impact.
Leonie and other girls walk by. Hanna looks at them and then at Jonas. Matteo comes up behind them and takes Jonasā cigarette.
Matteo: Mmmhh... nicotine. Jonas: Dude⦠Whatād you get in german? Matteo: 11 points, you?Ā Jonas: 12. Matteo: Nice. and you? (addressing Hanna) Jonas: She didnāt wanna tell me either. Hanna: 6. Jonas: Well, youāre better at other things⦠Looking great, getting dressed all on your own, brushing your teeth.
Hanna shows him the middle finger while grinning and they kiss.
Matteo: Dude, I thought we wanted to leave. Jonas: Well, letās go then Hanna: Where are you going Jonas: Carlos. Iāll call you later, okay?Ā
