George Floyd was brutally murdered on May 25, 2020. George was handcuffed and being cooperative before the officer, who was charged for these crimes, put his knee on George’s neck for over eight minutes while George begged and pleaded, and screamed that he could not breathe. The officer refused to listen and continued to choke him. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. George was taken from us too soon and deserves justice.

We are currently looking for artists, writers, and creators to join us for this project. Please message one of us to join, and please tell us what you prefer to do, and what your preferences are for the ship you are writing.

. writing can be 500-1000 words or more. The writing is up to the writer.

- Do not harass the creators asking where the work is. They have a two week deadline of them being requested.

“It’s whatever,” Billy drawls, rolling his shoulder into a shrug. “Like? It’s not on purpose. But if we’re gonna start to be….” He gestures between them, “…Whatever. You might wanna try keeping your panties out of a twist, princess.”

Billy shrugs, thinks about his answer before he says it. He looks a little uncomfortable: he shifts a bit, frowns. Thinking is hard. He doesn’t like it.

He blows a smoke ring. “Fuck off, Harrington,” he says. There’s a little bit of a bite to it, probably more than there should be. He knows Steve is messing with him, kind of. But Billy’s all tied up with this fucking…. guy and he doesn’t understand how Steve didn’t get what he was saying and yet simultaneously parroted his concerns back to him with such efficiency. 

Billy felt his face get a little hot. Felt a little awkward. Must be the weed, he decided. Too much all at once, just to spite this dumbass talking about fucking dying. Jesus.

“Bitch,” Billy stated, almost seriously. “Who else is gonna let me climb in their window at three AM and suck my dick? Besides. Think about it: you’d go to heaven, and no one up there has a face pretty enough for you to sit on.”

“Well, at least you’ve got your priorities figured out.” He knew Billy was only trying to divert the conversation, and it was working. He was too high to stay serious for long, anyway, and it– it was funny, really, the thought of him getting into heaven. Not that Steve was even sure he believed in it, but he was sure that people like him weren’t supposed to be invited.

He decided to go along with it anyway.

“Oh yeah?” And how would you describe that difference?”

Billy has an unlit cigarette in his mouth, and he speaks around it.

“Jesus,” he slaps Steve’s hand away, thinking of penguins. He’d never seen a penguin before. “If you get the fuck out of my face, I might think about it. Why do you wanna go to the goddamn zoo so bad?”

“Because,” Steve says. Off to a good start, there. “They’re neat. I know it’s nothing like the fancy zoos you got in California, but it just opened back up, there’s gonna be baby animals and shit, it’s actually a nice day out and it’s only an hour’s drive away, and it’s not like it’s a date–” he pauses briefly, possibly at the wrong moment, to pull out his lighter and light Billy’s cigarette for him because it’s just sitting there and it’s annoying and– “-and I just wanna go.”

“That’s bullshit, Harrington,” as soon as Steve finished his hit, Billy snatched the bong back. Fucking idiot, he thought as he did the thing with the lighter, inhaled, held his breath. Stupid fucking Harrington.

“You could say that shit about anyone. Fuck, nobody’s counting on you to save the goddamn world. But if you fucking…. offed yourself and made those dumbass kids cry, that’s pretty fucked up.”

Finally Steve turned to give Billy A Look, incredulous, face scrunched up. As if Billy were the one talking shit, making no sense, being depressing as fuck.

He’s breathing hard, staring at an empty point on the wall just above Billy’s right shoulder, because he’s too embarrassed and freaked out to look at Billy right now.

“Yeah, well maybe I just don’t trust you enough to let you see it,” Steve snaps, running nervous fingers through his hair; they catch on a tangle, and rather than try to yank it loose, he just curls his whole damn hand into a fist and tugs at his hair sharply. It’s grounding, far more than Billy’s voice or presence. Steve knows it would be even worse if he were completely alone.

But Billy doesn’t know the truth. About Hawkins, or about him– about any of it, really. Billy doesn’t know anything at all, and Steve can’t just tell him, ‘sorry for screaming and accidentally kneeing you in the face, sometimes I see shadows that remind me of the monsters that almost killed me and all the people I care about.’ He could just say it’s PTSD and leave it at that, but somehow that feels even worse, and he doesn’t want Billy to leave. He hasn’t even gotten laid yet; his little freak out made sure of that. Probably won’t at all now, and isn’t sure he still wants to anyway.

He has half a mind to apologize, at least, but then remembers that Billy had done far worse to him, once, and that had been on purpose.

It’s not even about trust, really. It’s the fact that the kids - kids! - have been holding it together far better than Steve has, and here he is still having nightmares, still jumping at every unexpected sound or too-fast movement, losing his shit in front of probably the one person he should never let himself be vulnerable around, and he’s– he’s mad about it. Mad, and embarrassed, and he can’t. Stop. Shaking.

"Stop that," he says automatically. He doesn't like the idea of Steve hurting himself, he realises. If he's not being fucked, there's no reason for Steve to get his hair pulled.

“Oh yeah?” And how would you describe that difference?”

“I dunno, Hargrove, I guess some people just like animals!”

Steve waves the tickets in front of Billy’s face again. At least the question isn’t an all-out rejection. Yet.

He really has no idea what the fuck he’s doing.

Billy watched Steve carefully as he took another hit, to make up for the one he hadn’t quite finished earlier. He eventually slid his bong between those long, wiggly fingers.

“What about those… Those little shits. That one kid, Dirty.”

“It’s Dustin, you fuck. But… yeah, I mean. They’d miss me.”

Steve snatched the bong as soon as he could get his fingers around it, sitting up from his slouch in the same motion. He took his hit, silently priding himself on coughing just slightly less than Billy had.

Billy choked mid-hit, coughing a weedsmoke cloud into the air.
