I love Kaz's whole ripping eyes out for Inej thing but honestly it's his respect for ALL women that really pushes him into king territory for me. A lot of male characters love their GFs but how many stand up for the rights of sex workers?

I’m just thinking about how Ben Barnes performance is so good because he actually took it seriously. I feel like it’s so easy for men who act in these teen romance adaptations to completely dismiss the story and it’s value. Like even though I love Robert Pattinson in Twilight, he hated the books. And even if that isn’t obvious in his performance, it’s still there. Ben Barnes clearly mined that text and fully understood everything about the Darkling and it shows every time he’s on screen. This man is the new standard and that’s why his performance is one of the best that’s ever existed in an adapted work.

By far the funniest and most in-character thing in sab was Inej urgently asking "Wait why would Heleen get the Crow Club?" and Kaz straight up just leaving

we really got so lucky having freddy carter as kaz brekker. i don't know if this was all him or the writers but every single time someone touched him during the show, he looked down at the spot they touched and looked visually uncomfortable. not to mention how much it looked like he wanted to help inej when she got injured but he physically couldn't bring himself to. i cannot put into words how much i love this cast for reading the books and actually caring about the characters they are bringing to life.
