Yes, it’s that recurrent AU where Merlin is enslaved by Uther and used as a prized weapon against his own kind… Arthur decides, fuck that, and then by the end of it all they both decide, let’s fuck. This plot, I like it! I also just really wanted to reference a shot of him from The Laughing King because FRECKLES! ;)

A million years ago, around the time of when the original of this redo was done, @sirmalory and I were talking about Arthur coming back and having some trouble adapting to the modern English language. Merlin is a wonderful and patient teacher, of course, but this century is so different, and while Arthur is trying his best to cope, he sometimes still finds the change overwhelming. 

His first Christmas back, Arthur’s a little blue and Merlin is struck with the idea to Youtube some old medieval carols, and for a little while Arthur lets himself pretend that he’s still who he was all those years ago.
