#52frames_blurtheaction I waited a little less than the last minute for this week's #52Frames challenge. If this pattern continues I not even wait until Sunday to take it! The challenge was to "blur the action" and it was tough. It would probably have been easier to shoot on my DSLR but I'm lazy and didn't feel like digging it out. I also used portrait mode on my phone which I always forget I have and it worked better than trying to use pro mode. Got great depth and a combo of blurred motion and sharp edges This was far from the original plan but I think it's super cute. So I decided to try doing #52Frames again this year and even though I managed to take this pic within the time frame (11:40pm lol) I then also managed to forget to upload before time ran out. Oops. In my defense I was eating cheesecake. So then I said screw it, spent a little time editing it in LR and figured I'd still post to IG as my own accountability post. This was taken on my phone, I'm viewing these as creative exercises to get ideas that I could then maybe translate into photoshoots. The first week's theme is always self portrait which I kinda loathe but here we are. Back in October we had a small photoshoot as a thank you to anyone that helped @dccosplayphoto with Awesome Con. This was a challenging shoot in July. It was very hot and the lighting was a real struggle. But challenging yourself to do better or work in different conditions than you're used to is what @dccosplayphoto is all about (except for the heat, fuck that noise). This window's natural light with the strong shadows from the room worked perfectly for @impressionistic_cosplay 's beautiful historic garb. (I'm trying the panorama thingy but it does mean I have to crop my landscape oriented photos so I'm not sold on it yet.)
