I imagine because of that Dev is really intent on giving as much eye contact as possible to show that he loves someone. It’s like one of his love languages. He’ll stare at you intensely whenever you talk or you’ll catch him looking at you. He’s not afraid to of prolonged eye contact contact and doesn’t notice when it gets awkward. It can be on purpose or subconsciously. He won’t even realize he’s staring sometimes. He just likes looking with his big wet eyes full of love. He’d definitely stare at Hazel during class.
