I have been making music for as long as I can remember. It is and has always been a turbulent experience. Before this current time, I always thought you had to strive for a sort of consumable honesty. A digestible candidness so people could understand you and relate to you. I don’t want to pander or compromise, and I haven’t wanted to for a long time. Out of politeness I found myself meeting people at the middle, part of that was a lack of self-belief which still has its remnants inside of me, and the worst part of meeting people at the centre was that those people would still disappear, which isn’t something I enjoy watching happen. In a way of life where everything is changing all the time and I watch it happen before my very eyes, in the chaotic pace of it all, I look for stability in the likemindedness of people. I’ve always looked for it there. For real, uncompromising minds who want to shift everything they see all the time. All I’ve ever wanted is to be surrounded by people who are never happy with how things are. In music, politically, philosophically, artistically, unsatisfied with how it all is so absolutely that they wish to create something in their image so they have something to sate them. This doesn’t merely mean they want to be good or the best at what they do, but they want to be happy with what they do - because they see that everything else isn’t perfect and they aren’t content with the fissures in the worlds they see so their creations are where they find their contentment. I can’t say for sure if what I do does something as drastic as what I have described, but I hope that over the course of me working it will. I’m not sure what this writing was even about or who it was for, all I really know is that I have people who think like this who I hold near my chest, and I would like to find more.
