IT JUST KEPT GOING AND GOING! It was the first Sherlock Holmes story I read because I wanted to read them chronologically by publish date and I was like “Oh. Why is this suddenly a western borderline horror novella about the evils of Mormonism on the American frontier? Are all SH stories going to have this sudden narrative piece in the middle?” AND NO. ACD WAS JUST VERY FIRED UP ABOUT MORMONISM.
