Sims 4 Challenges To Try

Hey, friends! I found black representation lacking in the Sims 4, so I built an entire legacy challenge based on it! This challenge is my love letter to my community. And it is meant for anyone and everyone to play, but I want to showcase how rich, beautiful, and powerful we are. It follows a story that has a beginning, middle, and end to it. Every generation is based on a different soul food dish.

There’s nothing Short n’ Sweet about this challenge 🤭 Although I did try to make it shorter by pairing two songs together. Most of the songs from the album are sad, which led to some very romantically tragic (but dare I say realistic) generations. If you get bored of the "perfect household", this challenge is for you!

This is a legacy challenge I created to add some more drama and spice to my game while enjoying the many packs and features it has to offer (that I often forget exist)! Feel free to use mods/cc in your games or play completely vanilla. It’s all up to you! In some generations, I will add some mod suggestions that I think would add to the overall experience of that gen, but it is NOT a must! Feel free to alter certain goals to suit your play style as I want you guys to enjoy the legacy and have fun! I hope you guys are ready for some drama & hot tea! 🍵

This legacy is pack heavy (I couldn’t help myself 😭) so feel free to swap out traits, aspirations and goals to something you can do with the packs you own. Some generations are more wholesome than others. Some are filled with drama! If you want to check things off your list, make a copy of the rules to keep for yourself, then you should be able to edit it! Oh and I want to see your sims!! 1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge

The 1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge puts a twist on the traditional Legacy Challenge by spanning across all four mainline Sims games:

One generation in TS1

Two generations in TS2

Three generations in TS3

Four generations in TS4

This adds up to 10 generations in total. The goal is to explore the evolution of The Sims gameplay over the years! There is more information below, but feel free to run with the idea — customize it to suit your playstyle and tell the story you want to tell!

The Guts Legacy Challenge

Nearly three years to the day since I first posted the Sour Legacy Challenge and Guts is finalllllly ready for you (never thought I'd see the day) 😭🤘✨

Same drill as before: the rules are lax, make this your own, take it slow or fast, use lots of mods and cheats or don't, I don't care—my only hope is that this helps you tell a creative, chaotic story in our favorite little dollhouse game.

Note for gen 1: if you don't have the sticky fingers aspiration in your game, I recommend fabulously wealthy or mansion baron!

Hello! This is the first challenge my friend and I created. I had lots of fun making this challenge and I hope you enjoy it as well. I created this in only a day so there may be things that need to be added or taken away once I go through the challenge myself. Happy Simming!

Overview:

This is an 8 generation Legacy Challenge. The gender and style is completely up to you (except generation 2). Complete all goals before moving onto the next generation. Make sure you look ahead each generation because some may overlap with each other (start as a teen or teen goals). I will create a base game version in the future, but for right now just skip or make up a new rule if you don't have a pack. We will be adding colour's (yes we’re Canadian), no they don't make sense with the herbs and spices, but it's fun so that's what we're going to do!! I'm playing this for the first time so things may change, please let me know if there's any mistakes or if you think of anything to add to this challenge.

Rules

You can either start off with 0 money like the original legacy challenge or start out with starting funds, whichever is more fun for you!

You don't have to level up skills to level 10, unless the job states otherwise.

Complete job career, unless stated otherwise

Complete the aspiration each generation, unless stated otherwise

Cheats are fine if it makes the challenge more fun for you, otherwise try not to make yourself have an advantage over others, cc is fine

Must complete each goal for each gen, then you can go to the next generation, You can choose to do the optional goals

I suggest life span on normal or long, short if you want stress and a challenge!

This doesn't need to be a berry challenge, but if you want to you can make everything their fav colour!!

as i was looking for legacy challenges that were being updated as new packs came out, i had the thought "hey, why not just write one myself?" so here we are! i'll do by best to add new generations as time goes on, but seeing as this already has 35 (!!) generations, i think we'll be okay for a bit.

a few notes:

this challenge incorporates mods. i tried to include options for players who do not use gameplay mods, but some generations are built around them.

this challenge uses (almost) all packs. some generations are based off specific packs though, so you could pick and choose which gens you want to do.

this challenge has story aspects. there's a lot of room for you to come up with a story yourself each generation, so have fun with it!

some generations are longer and more involved than others! this is meant to give you a bit of a break and provide variety between generations.

Wild apple tree sims legacy challenge

Basic Rules

- Each generation must have an apple tree. It may be the founders tree and gets carried thru each generation or it can be a new tree but the new tree must grow from an apple off the last generations tree.

- Heir for each generation can be either gender unless stated other wise

- No money Cheats (optional)

- Color for each generation is optional

- May live where ever you choose unless location is specified.

- Each generation needs to complete their aspiration(all aspirations are whatever you choose)

- Must have the Career that is listed for each generation

*Founder can be any gender

*Your founder must be a single parent

*He/she must marry another single parent

*Both single parents must have one or more kids from their previous relationships prior to meeting.

* After Marriage have at least one more child using science

*Next heir must be Science baby

*Next heir must have ambitious trait and do well in school

Career- Career of your choice to start

2. Science baby - Jonagold yellow

*Attend a university(which ever path you choose)

*Have only one child while In university

*Don't have another baby till you are an adult and ,half way through the Science Branch

*Master Logic Skill

*Master Robotics Skill (Optional)

*Master Rocket science

*Visit Sixam At least once

*Always join Next heir to high-school(Must meet future spouse)

Career- Scientist but of course

3.High school sweethearts - Pink Lady

*Heir must marry their High school sweetheart of course

*Try for baby every time you woohoo(optional)

*Have relationship fail but never divorce

*Heir alway attend the romantic festival

*Have a child from someone other then spouse after marriage(preferably a co-star)

*Try for baby with more then one sim in the same day/week

*One Sim must have a bad relationship with their children.

Career- Acting for both Heir and spouse (Must Join when ever they get a gig)

4.We're Adopting- Empire Purple

*First child must be from adoption (preferably as an infant)

* Must have at least one boy and one girl

* Next heir must be male ( can be the adopted sim)

*Live/ Move to sulani

*Master fishing

*Own at least 2 fish tanks

*Have your teens work as lifeguards

*Only leave the island to dig for bottles in Tartosa

*Best friend a mermaid

*Go diving at least once a week(Bonus finding mermaid kelp)

5.Single dad - Cosmic Blue

*Live in an apartment

* Meet your girlfriend at a party or bar

*Must have a baby girl

*Have your girlfriend leave you after you have a girl.

*Must never marry or date again but Can woo-hoo around

*Must live with and have close relationship to adopted sibling. ( preferably both heir and next heir)

* Must Leave your daughter to be raised by your sibling before she becomes a teen.(you can choose to do this however you like.)

* you may have more then one child but your daughter must be next heir*

Career- Military Man (Either branch)

6.Raised by my aunt/uncle - Multi-colored Ambrosia

*Have a great relationship with your aunt/uncle

*Heir must be Female

*Heir starts this generation as a child

*Have a Bake sale as a child

*Have only one child by a one night stand(Can not take pregnancy test or keep trying with the same sim)

*Sell your baked goods(You can do this with a yard sale table)

*Build your own bakery and work it part time(Optional)

7.Happy little accident - Fuji green

*Master painting skill

*Only paint landscape and photos you take(optional)

*Start an art club

*Have more then one baby

*Have loves outdoors trait

*Own at least one cat or dog

*Own at least 2 small pets (one must be a hedgehog)

*Own some chickens

*Have a drone to record and stream you when ever you are painting

*Upload your painting videos (Optional)

8.Soccer Mom/Dad - Arkansas Black and White

*Marry someone successful ( go dig for gold with this one)

*Must have at least 5 kids

*Travel at least once a week with all the kids for a fun day out ( just has to be somewhere outside of the house)

*Heir Can only make money from trendi (Other sims in the home can work however you choose including the children )

*Must help with any school project brought home and try to help with homework often

*Aspiration Super parent

*Celebrate all Holidays and birthdays

*Build a tree house

Career- Stay at home parent

9.Raised in a nursing home - Granny smith Grey

* Heir Must have more then one child

*Heir Must become Elder before last child becomes a teen

*All kids must be moved out once they hit young adults except the last child ( The Next Heir )

*When Heir is an elder they must rent rooms to at least 4 other Elders

*Have a game night ever Wednesday with the elders ( this includes bowling)

*Have dance night every Thursday with elders

*Master dancing

*Have Movie night every Friday (can be at home)

*Never have a real career( May make money any other way)

*Next heir can't move till they have at least 3 kids

Career- Job hop part time jobs. Call out of work at least once for each job. Quit/retire once you are an elder

10.Fullhouse - Red Delicious

*Must have at least 6 or more sims living together during the entire generation( 2 sims preferably Aunts/Uncles)

*Take a family vacation every season

*Throw a party every other weekend( Include at least one slumber party)

*Build a tree house

*Have Grandparents visit often(Include stay overs)

*2 Sims must master guitar

*All Sims must master comedy

*3 Sims must master singing

*1 Sim must master dj

My husband and I worked on this together... It's a Legacy Challenge based on TV families from shows... Of course I left out the families with horrible personalities (Such as the Cosby Show (Bill Cosby) and All in the Family (Let's face it, Archie was a racist... But, hey, if you want to add them into your challenge, that is entirely up to you!

TV Family Legacy Challenge: 

Rules are simple: 

Infants have to remain infants for the entire time. 

Toddlers can be aged up if they get level 3 in all skills, or level 5 on one skill. 

Children can be aged up either by completing their aspirations or by becoming an A student 

Teenagers can be leveled up either by completing their aspirations or by becoming an A student 

Adults must finish at least one level of aspiration before they die. 

Can be done in any order, and you are allowed to use cheats. I understand the game gets annoying without cheats. 

Generation 1: The Addamses 

“They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky, the Addams Family” 

Starts with a patriarchal household (Gomez Addams) 

Must have either Successful Lineage or Famously Wealthy Aspiration 

Must have Romantic and Gloomy traits 

Must have a partner with the same traits, but Soulmate Aspiration 

Inherited money, so you or your partner don’t have to work a day in your life (feel free to use the Motherlode cheat to become filthy stinking rich) 

Feel free to add Fester and Grandmama, if you’d like. 

Must have at least 3 children, and at least 1 of those children must be a boy. The youngest child will be the heir. 

Generation 2: The Munsters 

“The lesson I want you to learn is: It doesn't matter what you look like. You can be tall or short or fat or thin, or ugly or handsome, like your father, or you can be black or yellow or white. It doesn't matter. But what does matter is the size of your heart and the strength of your character.” 

After growing up in a family who was wealthy, you didn’t need to work. You had all the money you could ever need. Now you can focus on raising your family. Your story begins as a young adult.

Must have Successful Lineage aspiration 

Must have Gloomy and genius traits 

Must have at least 1 daughter, and the daughter must marry a green man (who has the personality trait Childish) and live with you. 

Have 1 grandson, who will be the heir for the next generation. 

Generation 3: The Bradys 

“Here’s a story, of a lovely lady, who was bringing up 3 very lovely girls. All of them had hair of gold, like their mother, the youngest one in curls.” 

Growing up, you were sheltered and didn’t get to talk to people all that much. When you finally meet someone, it’s love at first sight. You settle down in a nice house and raise your family together. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Patriarchal Head (Mike Brady) 

Must have Big Happy Family aspiration 

Must have Romantic and Family-Oriented traits 

Must have 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. The youngest girl or boy will be the heir. 

Must have a maid. 

Optional Pack: Sims 4 Cats & Dogs  

Generation 4: The Partridges 

“We had a dream, we'd go travelin' together, We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on.  Somethin' always happens whenever we're together We get a happy feelin' when we're singing a song.” 

Growing up in a large family, you were used to being invisible, after all, you were the youngest girl. You meet a guy, have some kids. You then become the lead singer for your kids’ band, although at first you’re too shy to be in front of people. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Matriarchal Head (Shirley Partridge) 

Must have Musical Genius aspiration 

Must follow and max out the Singer occupation 

Must have Family Oriented and Outgoing traits 

Must have 5 kids: 2 girls, 3 boys (make sure the heir is a boy to continue onto the Full House generation, unless you want to skip to one of the optional families) 

Marry your soulmate and then lose him once the oldest son becomes a teenager. 

Optional Pack: Sims 4 Cats & Dogs 

Or 

Generation 4: The Ricardos 

“Lucy, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!” 

Growing up in a large family, you were used to being invisible, after all, you were the youngest boy. You meet the love of your life and together you move into a small house, and you follow your dream of becoming a lounge singer. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Patriarchal Head (RIcky Ricardo) 

Must have Musical Genius aspiration 

Must follow and max out the Singer career path 

Must have Hot-headed and Music Lover traits 

Must have at least 1 son 

Must have a wife that has red hair, and has the traits of Family-Oriented and Jealous traits 

Optional Pack: Sims 4 Dine Out- Open your own restaurant and become successful.   

Generation 5: The Tanners 

“Whatever happened to predictablity? The paperboy, milkman, evening TV? You miss your old familiar friends waiting just around the bend.” 

With your family being successful in music, you move into a big house and meet your partner. You get married and get a job working in Journalism. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Patriarchal Head (Danny Tanner) 

Must have the Best-Selling author aspiration 

Must follow the Journalist career path 

Must have Neat and Family-Oriented traits 

Must have at least 3 daughters 

Lose wife in a tragic accident 

(Optional: Add Joey and Uncle Jesse to your household) 

Optional Pack: Sims 4 Cats & Dogs 

Generation 6: The Winslows 

“It’s a rare condition, this day and age, to read any good news on the newspaper page. And love and tradition of the grand design, some people say it’s even harder to find. Well, there must be some magic clue inside these gentle walls cause all I see is a tower of dreams, real love bursting out of every seam.” 

After a long successful line of entertainers, you decide to take a different approach. After you move out, you fall in love with a non-entertainer, get married, and move into a house big enough for 8 people. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Matriarchal Head (Estelle Winslow) 

Must have Big Happy Family aspiration 

Must have Family-Oriented and Cheerful traits 

Must marry a policeman 

Must have a son who becomes a police officer 

Son (Hot-Headed and Family-Oriented traits) and wife must live with you after your husband dies. 

Have at least 3 grandchildren 

(Optional: Add Aunt Rachel and Ritchie to household) 

(Also Optional: Make Steve Urkel) 

Generation 7: The Banks 

“I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie ‘Yo holmes, smell ya later’ Looked at my kingdom I was finally there to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.” 

Inspired by your father, you decided to follow in his footsteps and join a criminal justice career. You worked from the ground up and became a successful judge, married a beautiful woman, and settled down in a mansion in the fanciest part of town. Your story begins as a young adult. 

Patriarchal Head (Phillip Banks) 

Must have either the Successful Lineage or Fabulously Wealthy aspiration 

Must have a career in Secret Agent (Base Game) 

Must have Foodie and Hot-Headed traits 

Must have a maid or butler 

Must have at least 4 children (2 girls, 2 boys) 

Nephew comes to live with you (Nephew’s traits should be Romantic and Ambitious) 

(Optional: Add Jeff as Will’s best friend) 

Optional Packs: Get to Work for Detective career or DIscover University for Judge career 

Generation 8: The Spellmans 

“What’s the matter? I have to be a witch, I have to be a mortal, I have to be a teenager, and I have to be a girl, all at the same time. That’s what’s the matter.” 

You have a good life, you’re living with your sister, and you have a good relationship with your brothers. You’re not too fond of the fact that one of your brothers married a woman who is so unlike the family, but, you love him all the same. You’ve offered to take your brother’s daughter should he end up dying. Your story starts when you reach young adult. 

Matriarchal Head (Zelda or HIlda Spellman) 

Must have the Big Happy Family aspiration 

Must have the Neat and Ambitious traits (Zelda) or Childish and Slob traits (Hilda) 

Must work in some sort of Science field (Zelda) 

Must be good friends with both of your brothers. 

Take in your niece when she’s a child and raise her after her parents’ early demise. 

Optional Packs: Realm of Magic and/or Cats & Dogs 

Generation 9: The Gilmores 

“If you’re out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold, all you have to do is call my name and I’ll be there on the next train. If you need me, I will follow, anywhere that you tell me to.” 

Losing your parents at a young age and being sent to live with your aunts wasn’t exactly something that you were thrilled about. Which is why you become a wild child. Your story starts when you reach teenager.  

Matriarchal Head (Lorelai Gilmore) 

Must have Successful Lineage aspiration 

Must have Cheerful and Ambitious traits 

Must be in the Management branch of the Business career path 

Get pregnant as a teen 

Have at least 1 daughter 

Must not date until your heir is a teenager 

Generation 10: The Prouds 

“You and me will always be tight. Family every single day and night, even when you start acting like a fool, you know I’m loving every single thing you do. I know that I can always be myself around you more than anybody else.” 

As a young adult, you begin to resent your mother for having you way too young and you begin to put a rift between you and your mom so you move out and get married to a swinger. Your story begins when you turn into a young adult.

Must have 1 son with the Master Chef aspiration; Foodie and Ambitious traits 

Your son gets married and has 3 children
