hey! I'm doing well and I hope you are as well 💗 that is a hard question to answer, because at the moment I have no plans on returning, but I can't say that I won't ever return. I miss it. but I look back on my previous content and I don't even know how to be that again. I get home from work exhausted, and I feel like if I were to record, the videos would be so boring to watch. I'm not as cheery as I used to be 😢

When I wrote the original challenge for the Sims 4, I already knew that I wanted to rewrite it for the Sims 3, because that game still has my heart to this day 🩷 I don't know if it is nostalgia, but I keep finding myself going back to it every year.

Unlike the Sims 4 version, which you can read by clicking here, this one has a few key differences:

There are no optional generations. I didn't feel like they were needed here. Afterall, the Sims 3 doesn't have as many expansion packs as the Sims 4;

Every generation has an optional goal (which are marked with a star);

There's a bigger focus on gameplay than story. It's a lot harder to manipulate the game, and micromanage to get the outcome you want, so the goals focus on things you can actually accomplish, while still being relevant to the song they're inspired by.

I only added three traits for each generation instead of five because it wouldn't fit in the graphics 😆I mean, the picture of the trait would, but not the text under it. It works great for gen 2 to 12, as your Sim might age up or even be born with some random traits, but if you're struggling to pick the other two for gen 1, I'd suggest Excitable and Star Quality.

i'm sorry to say but I don't think it's going to happen 😢 i haven't been inspired to write, and i don't have any new ideas for generations for a new sims 4 challenge.

hey! I would be able to draw a version for them, but I'm not able to make the package file as I do own that pack 😓 sims4studio only allows me make overrides/standalones/swatches of the packs I own. unless someone is willing to make the package file for me, I can draw it and make it available for download, but I don't know who to ask 🥲

Hey! Thank you for letting me know! I've added in a Royalty and Legacy version (EP21) of the default eyes and heterochromia files, that includes actual purple eyes for the EA purple color swatch.

You will need to remove the regular default eyes package and replace it with the EP21RoyaltyLegacy one! The heterochromia files, new and old, can all be in your mods folder. They have a different thumbnail in game, but all the swatches, except one, are the same, so keep that in mind.

Since purple eyes don't exist in real life, the rest of the files will remain the same 😅 The berry and all other occult eyes include swatches with purple eyes anyways, but if someone really wants it (as it is a new color), I can make a EP21 version of the non-default and contacts files.

2025 was actually a good year for me. Nothing that remarkable happened, but I'm doing a lot better in terms of my mental health. I've gained 6kg! This was the first time I gained weight since I was... 18? And I only gained weight then because I started taking anxiety medication, because before that I stopped gaining weight after I turned 14. I'm even taking a much smaller dose of my medication, and if everything goes well I'll be able to stop taking it, which is huge for me, as I never thought I would be able to. I have some family members that were never able to stop.

I do hope to look after myself a bit better this year. Just exercise more, as I don't really do that 🥲

Hey! Thank you 💗 At the moment no. I'm really close to finishing the diamonds legacy, I just need to write the generation descriptions for the 4 new generations. But I've also converted the diamonds legacy for the sims 3, so both of those will be posted soon 😊

I did try to work on a midnight sun challenge, but with only one generation. The idea was to make it only one generation long, as some people (me included) can't get very far in legacies; and to have different stages, like the globetrotter challenge but without changing locations. There would be journal scraps describing the situation your sim would be in, what aspiration and what goals they need to complete before moving onto the next stage.

Hey! It's not just a you thing, it's an universal thing that everyone goes through with the sims 4 studio. Sometimes you can pick up an existing file and change it, other times you need to make it from scratch 😩 And that is honestly the reason why I retired from the gloomy eyes. It's exhausting to work on something, open the game and not have it work, and the only solution is to redo it all, again, for who knows how many other files.

I tried it myself for those files, and while the mermaid one worked, the fairy one didn't, so I redid it from scratch. If you want you can download both of those files by clicking here.
