A lot of girls have this dream of being a model, but do they really have the qualities to be one? It is always really difficult to know for sure what the real rules are and what you should do to be a model. Keep reading and you will find out what the real qualities are to be the best model ever. Get rid of all the information you have ever read about cause Simply Yourself is going to give you the right information! (this blog is an opinion and realistic)

Height

To be a model the minimum height they expect from you is 170 cm. There may be a really good reason for this rule, such as: showing the clothing will be easier. This doesn’t mean that it will be prettier. Tall women are beautiful but so are short women. Rules as this one does take away a lot of self-confidence. If your dream really is being a model, and people keep telling you that the chance will be very little because of your height, don’t ever listen to them because it is possible. If you have the talent to model and to pose infront of the camera just give it a try. Because you will never know without evern trying. There are a lot of categories you could compete in. For example you could be on the cover of a magazine by letting a picture be taken of your face.

Size

Models are very skinny. In the past few years models were too skinny (in my opinion). I am glad that has changed. A lot of girls really feel as if they are too ”fat”. Dealing with an issue like that is really hard and really depressing. It can make everything in your life miserable. Don’t let it even go that far. If you feel fine in your body, if you think you are healthy just stay that way and don’t even change a bit just because of you wanting to be pretty. A lot of guys (yes believe it or not) do want a girl with curves. They would rather see someone healthy than starved. (Applause to whoever started the ”big-sized” models!) They even started to make the mannequins in Sweden ”bigger” to give girls more confidence. At one time ”bigger” was better. Marilyn Monroe was a sexsymbol and her size wasn’t a size 2 (european=34), that’s for sure.

Face

”You should have the look”. Everybody has their own beauty and uniqueness.Everybody has their own ”look”. So in my opinion there aren’t rules about someones face. They shouldn’t be having those because everyone’s face is different. You could have beautiful blue eyes, green or brown eyes. Blond curls? Or dark straightened hair? Be proud of who you are, what you look like. Because no one else will have the exact same features.

Really wanting to be a model? Don’t give up and give it a try. You are beautiful in your own way and you will never know without trying it. Maybe they are willing to make an exception for someone like you?

Just trying to combine the most simple clothing, you can get a classy look as a result. Try combining colours to get a warm effect, but don’t be too heavy on the colours. In the picture above I am wearing a coat, heels and carrying one of the most simple bags I have ever seen.

Beige coat | Liège, Belgium at Primark |

I just love this coat. This coat is actually a little bigger than it should be but I actually bought the coat knowing that it is a little bigger. Coats should always be one size bigger, or at least that much bigger you can wear a lot of clothings underneath without feeling trapped. I also think oversized clothing can be cute but don’t let it be too big so your body will disappear. We still want to see you so you don’t have to play hide and seek in your coat. The coat contains these big brown buttons and has a high collar so you can cover your mouth when it gets colder. I am a great fan of buttons and the beige colour.  College bag | Maastricht, Holland at New Yorker | This bag was not that expensive and it really looks cute by a lot of outfits. I love the bag because it looks like one of those famous university-bags that students bring with them in movies so I call it the ”College-bag” haha. The bag has a decent effect and is pretty wide on the inside so you can put a lot of stuff in it. I would recommend to be careful with heavy things such as loads of schoolbooks. Yes, I do use this bag sometimes for my schoolbooks but I don’t put all my schoolbooks in my bag, some of them will be in my arms. But again it is wide on the inside so the bag is able to carry enough. 

Grey-to-black-pants | Maastricht, Holland at V&D | These pants are not meant to be high-waisted but to me they actually feel like they are. I amd fond on these kind of pants because a belt is not urgently needed and I am not walking around with the thoughts of my pants falling off. The colour is cute to combinate with a lot of other colours. It’s simple but not just basic. It has a soft grey and also a decent effect.

Salmon-coloury pink Maddengirl | Maastricht, Holland at Dolcis |  The pink colour is perfect. It’s not too harsh, not too dark and not too soft and it is easy to combine with alot of colours.Especially with these pants. I have tried to wear this outfit with black pants but I thought the soft effect of the heels would fade away and the colours would be too rough on eachother. The pants and the heels are a great combination. These shoes by Steve Madden are beautiful and they are really nice to walk in. I got these heels while there was a sale so I guess I’m one lucky Maddengirl. Maddengirl has a lot of beautiful shoes in different styles and colours so if you see there’s a sale: Don’t let it pass you by! Grab your chance. They’re ”Madden”!

Merry christmas and a happy new year everybody ^^,

So basically; rain, mud, coldness and dry skin are the number one things people will think about if they think of ''winter''. But what they don't know is that winter is the season where people come together and it is actually really warm. That is why we are going to tell you how to keep yourself ''warm'' , ''cozy'' and ''fashionable'' for the coldest season of the year! We will write a few important things down for you.

STEP 1

Before you'll dress up and take care of yourself, think about the things around the house that make you feel happy. The nicer the atmosphere is, the easier it is to make yourself feel as beautiful as possible. So what can't absolutely be missing?:christmas tree, lights, warm chocolate milk and your favorite songs! 

STEP 2

 After you shower, it will be easier to put on make-up first. BUT, do not forget (VERY IMPORTANT) to moisturize your face (the better your skin will be, the less make up you need)! You can get a moisturizer in every drugstore you go to. Ask the shopkeeper about the information of what moisturize will be the best for your skin. For example; if you have a very oiley skin it doesn't mean you don't have to moisturize your face, but you do have perfect moisturizers for every type of skin. Also moisturizer is not just to keep your skin beautiful, but it keeps your skin healthy and makes you feel fresh. 

MAKE-UP

Winter is a great season for a difference in your make-up-style. It is very common to put on darker make-up than you usually do. You can go a little bit dramatic and also go for the black and other dark colours (but this really depends on your skintype and your eyes). Don't be afraid of the fact that the colours won't look good on you, or isn't meant for you. After all You put on the make-up the make-up doesn't put you on. So if you think that a colour isn't right for you, try to blend it with a lighter colour to adjust it with your eyes. There is no such thing as trying too hard, because eventually everything will look great on you and also this depends on your clothing. If you like it, then wear it!

CLOTHING

Layers layers layers are the best thing you can combinate with clothing. Always start with a thin layer for example: a top. There are a lot of people who begin with the thickest layer and put on a jacket. Now we're not trying to say it isn't cute, but it will get very hot. A lot of girls (believe it or not) have issues with transpiring. This will be the result if a thick layer will stick to your skin while wearing a coat. Warm colours are totally it! Oxblood, cold, orange, plum, teal, rose and brown! Try to combinate colours, don't be afraid to wear different colours at the same time. Keep yourself warm and cute!

SHOES

Don't you dare wear sneakers in the winter! It's freezing outside, you should buy yourself some boots.YES BOOTS! What kind of boots? It's all up to you! Try different kinds and find out what suits you the best.
