Y/N and Rick were on patrol in the watchtower. Though there wasn't much activity on the fence, so they began talking about everything and nothing.
"So, what did you do? Before all of this craziness?". Rick was curious. He didn't know a lot about the person he was harbouring feelings for.
"Oh uh, I was in a band".
He laughed, "I can definitely imagine that".

Rick sat on his porch in Alexandria simply enjoying the breeze.
"Hey, Rick!", Y/N came walking up the steps towards him.
"What brings you over here?", he smiled. Y/N sat down next to him.
"I'm glad you asked. A kid came up to me and was all 'holy shit you're THE Y/N!! I love you so much I have all your albums!!'. Which was weird 'cause I haven't been told that in over a year", Y/N half laughed, "But we were chatting and he let me borrow his copies". Y/N pulled the three cds from their messenger bag.
"It's been a while and I miss playing. and you once told me you wished you were able to hear my songs".
"I did say that. Damn, I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to". Rick inspected the cds in his hands.
"What? You regretting saying that?".
He laughed, "Never".
"Well, come on then. There's nothing going on tonight so I thought we could listen together. Plus – your house has a stereo", Y/N pointed out.
"That is a fair point", he stood and held his hand out, "Show me what you got".
Y/N sat down on Ricks' couch. They off-handedly wondered if Carl was home.
"Want something to drink?", the older man asked from the kitchen. "I've got whiskey, bourbon, and..", he paused to look in the cabinet, "that's it, i guess. Pick one".
"I'll just have what you have".
Rick walked over to the couch and sat two glasses of whiskey on the coffee table. The stereo was sitting there too, Y/N must have moved it.
"Okay, I put my first album in. You gotta listen to them in order".
"Remind me again what genre you played?". Rick vaguely remembered Y/N telling him something about punk music.
"I'd say punk. Or punk rock. Sometimes even garage punk". Rick looked lost.
"You peg me as someone who never listened to any of that". Shaking his head with a smile Rick replied, "You'd be correct. I didn't really listen to much music at all, just whatever was on the radio". Y/N told Rick to prepare to have his mind blown. They pressed play on the stereo before turning it up a little. The two sat in comfortable silence until they'd gone through every album. Occasionally, Rick would give his input on whether he liked a song or not.
It was nice. A night of rare peace.
