so according to the picture emmy posted on her instagram, 7x01 will be called âhiraethâ which basically translates to âhomesickness for a home that is no longer or never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for the lost places of your pastâ

âSince the day I could think, I had this idea in my head, that piercing notion that life was completely meaningless.â - Simon Monroe, IN THE FLESH
Tumblr:
Me: The sky is blue.
Tumblr: First of all, trigger warning, you bitch. Blue was the color of the smurf doll I had that got ruined in the wash. Secondly, my brother's girlfriend's cousin's step-sister said the sky was indigo, and she would know, because she studies colors in college. COLLEGE. Also, way to oppress other fucking colors and completely erase light blue, dark blue, and blue-ish green! Educate yourself, you ignorant piece of shit trash! You think you know everything but you have no clue! Thanks to you I am triggered and about to kill myself! Hope you're happy you fuck!

GUESS WHAT WEâVE BEEN DOING, DADDY. WEâVE BEEN FUCKING!
the nolan movies might as well just be original characters itâs nothing like the comics in any aspect and i resent it
One day I will write and publish an essay outlining why Nolan ruined the mainstream perception of Batman mythology for various reasons. In fact itâs going on my to-do list, it might be the first thing I pitch to NoC.Â
Because itâs so frustrating to me that this horribly misunderstanding of Batman and Bruce Wayne and everything that exists in Batman comics is so prominent in mainstream pop culture. Itâs the go-to adaption for Batman. The ironic part being itâs not even about Batman. Itâs about a selfish, self-centered man who puts on a Bat-suit for revenge purposes, who beats up mentally ill people without thought or remorse, and feels heâs owed the affections of his childhood sweetheart and has so little interest in the well being of his city of its people itâs laughable.Â
The best characters in Nolan movies have always been the side characters: Gordon, Catwoman, and the Joker. I donât count Ras Al Ghul, Tialia Al Ghul, and Bane remotely good representations of their comic book counterparts. Mainly because theyâre whitewashed. Nolan is so stuck on only including one character of color (Fox who exists only to help Bruce) he wouldnât even hire Zoe K because he didnât want the movie to seem âurbanâ. She could have been Tam Fox! But that would mean Nolan would have to actually care about his source material.Â
Batman is suppose to be one of the greatest detectives ever. Nolan didnât even have him use Google. He didnât so much as interrogate criminals as torture them for information. I never felt that Batman or Bruce Wayne cared about their city. Not when he could so easily give it up twice in one movie. Excuse me, three times (once in Dark Knight, twice in Dark Knight Rises).Â
The Nolan films emphasize, for me, all the worst aspects of a Batman story. A man whoâs angry, lacks any sort of emotion, uses his strength, wealth and power to terrorize criminals and doesnât do anything for the people of Gotham. An utterly self-centered man with to much power and anger with no one keeping him in check. Donât get me started on the insult that was âRobinâ in DKR.Â
This is why Iâm surprised people praise Nolanâs Batman over Synderâs. Batfleck is Batman. Heâs traumatized, heâs angry but not without consequences. He actually appears to care about people. During the movie heâs bitter, and cynicism has infected him like a disease (like Alfred said) but by the end of the film heâs a little closer to being healed, he saw that he was wrong, and wants to do better by people. He also showcased that he actually cared about his city and its people. He showed more emotion in that one scene where he helps a man from out of the rubble of Metropolis and holds that little girl than BaleBats ever did. He sets up victim funds for his employees who survived the Metropolis attacks, he gazes at the Robin suit with regret and longing. He researches his little heart out and yells things like, âI love those shoes!â and âSorry pretty girl, donât quote meâ and âMy company has already donated in favor ofâŚbooksâ. He has Alfred breathing down his neck about children and basically has a sign behind him at all times that reads âChill the fuck out Bruce weâre both to old for this!âÂ
Heâs human. Heâs Batman and heâs Bruce Wayne. Nolanâs Batman doesnât even come close character wise. Nolan created a well made, well directed film with flat characters with no respect for the source material.Â
this is a good read if you want to understand why tdk is shit thank you desiree-rodriguez
what was this movie evenÂ
a cinematic masterpiece
Letâs talk about Brenda Howard for a sec because I feel like all of the people shouting that âhetâ-partnered bisexuals donât belong at Pride are missing a good chunk of their Pride history.
Brenda was:
A bisexual, polyamorous woman and activist
In a âhetâ relationship with partner Larry Nelson
Known as the Mother of Pride for her work in organizing the first LGBT Pride events
A participant in the Stonewall Riots
An active member of the Gay Liberation Front, Gay Activists Alliance, Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights, BiPAC, and BiNET USA, Â among others
Co-founder of the New York Area Bisexual Network
Founder of the first Alcoholics Anonymous chapter for bisexuals
An incredibly important figure in the LGBT community, who paved the way for Pride and LGBT activism as we know it today
âHetâ-partnered bisexuals donât just belong at Pride, they were integral to its creation.
(Bonus facts: Brenda was also Jewish, a sex worker, and an outspoken feminist. I highly recommend learning about her because she was seriously an amazing woman.)
How have I never once heard of her before???
