He’s telling pantalone that if he sends him a million mora he will tell him how mora is made. Pantalone sends it thinking that he’s scamming Zhongli and there’s no way the great Rex lapis would scam him. Then gets the reply back saying the geo gnosis is basically useless in a humans hands and to get fucked.
Dori thinks that she’s tricking some absent minded man by selling him some broken logins vases. Only for Zhongli to turn around and put his Rex lapis signature on it and anonymously sell it for billions. Dori try’s to call bs because she sold that vase last year and it had no signature on it, only for it to be authenticated as the real deal. And now she’s wondering how the fuck she missed that.
He does this all not because he’s broke, he’s maker of mora. That stuff comes from his blood and scales. All of this done simply because he likes watching people squirm as he puts them through increasingly insane situation.
