This is the advice (starts at 3:28) that prompted me to write this response to ziegsden. I want there to be civil discourse. I do not want to see these crass, opportunistic posts in the tag. None of this hashtag nonsense or manipulated images of Cheyenne done in poor taste. That image was not even close to like what coyotemation contributed to this discussion. You may feel right in doing so, but that does nothing to help solve the problem. It will only piss people off and make them less receptive to hearing what others have to say.
Below is what msf-actual said in one of his streams, and I am taking it to heart. If this is the wrong route to go down, then I will gladly play the fool. What he said is relevant to this situation. I want there to be a discussion. I care not whether the LNC does it privately or if they choose to be transparent. This needs to be solved either in an extreme or creative fashion.

Before I get started, I would like to tell a story of something that happened yesterday – rather this morning.
It had to be about four or five this morning, I think. I just finished a bit of editing on MGS 1 and I think I was rendering or – I might have just been winding down for the evening, and I hopped MGS streams for the first time ever. And I found two people playing twin snakes. One guy had 12 viewers. The other guy had something like 450. I decided I’ll check the 450 guy – see what he was all about. And I’m not going to say any names for the sake of courtesy towards the streamers. But I go in and the chat seems moderately tame. Everything is going okay. The guy is playing the game and he’s being moderately active with chat. It was a hard mode, no kill, no alert run.
And this guy comes in chat and I believe he said something to the effect of, “Where do you find this piece of shit game?”
And the guy banned him immediately. I mean, I would have to. And he said something along the lines of, “I don’t really tolerate people who force feed their opinions to people in my chat, and I don’t have to take that in my chat. So I’m just going to ban those kinds of people.”
And then there was another person not three minutes later who came in and said something about – you know, which game he preferred or something like that.
And the guy purged him. And he said, “You never learn.”
I thought that was a bit excessive.
So, I started paying attention to a few more things about what this guy did. And shortly after that someone came in and made a comment about how they disliked a certain mechanic in MGS 2 where you can – well this person thought if you didn’t shoot a guard – rather if you shot a guard while he was calling in, other guards shouldn’t be alerted. Rather, I don’t think he understood the mechanic completely.
And he said something that was erroneous. The streamer said something to the effect of, “Well, you’re stupid, you’re an idiot – and if you don’t understand this mechanic, you’re not worth my time.”
And I thought, “Wow, that was a bit excessive. That was kind of rude. Unnecessary.”
And to my surprise the person who made the comment in chat went, “Yeah, you’re right. I didn’t see it that way. Thanks.” And he took it.
But so this guy takes this abuse. And I’m thinking to myself, “Why? Why would anyone let them talk to them that way?” And I was considering saying something about it, and then I thought, “Wait, no, he’s just going to ban me.” And I didn’t.
People in stream chats and in communities, where there is someone who is in an elevated position of power or authority, are often afraid of those people. They are afraid to speak out. They are afraid to call them out on their bullshit. And I hate that.
I know this is something that happens everywhere. I am by no means exempt from this kind of behavior. Everyone is human. There are times when things grate on me. Like there are so many times that I can answer or seethe a question about whether or not I’m going to be cosplaying as Snake at TwitchCon, or carrying boxes, or things like that in a two hour period. And I might respond a little sarcastically or something like that. But there are certain things that people shouldn’t be able to get away with regardless of who they are and what they do. They should be held accountable.
So if you ever catch me doing something like that, please don’t support me. Call me out on it.
And I urge you to do that for anyone else in positions like these.
Because we are not better than you. We aren’t above you. We’re all in the same boat, and I have been taught you have to give respect to get it. And if I don’t give you that respect, I don’t deserve yours.
