âM-Mr. Wright? OhâŚhe was that famous defense attorney who got disbarred or somethingâŚI heard he got his badge back though.â His faith in the justice system was nonexistent to begin with. âS-So youâre an attorney too? Well, feel free to bring anyone you like! Children 18 and under get a discount.â
âYeah. I cracked the case wide open in one of my own earlier cases. Once the truth came to light, the bar review committee saw no need to have Mr. Wright punished for a crime he had no hand in. And, uh, any discount for nineteen-year-olds who act like theyâre twelve?â
âSounds like he was rather l-lucky...but why was he disbarred in the first place? Was he framed or something? Thatâs a terrifying thought!â
(Sounds like the justice system is as corrupt as ever.)
âUm...I-I donât think so...Iâm sorry! Y-You would have to see for yourself...sometimes thereâs special days so I never know what the discount of the day is...â
âWow, I didnât think you would know all the performers! R-Regina is my boss, since sheâs the head animal tamerâŚMax is still there, making magic happenâŚalthough he kinda scares meâŚand Moe is the ring leader!â
âWell, I work with Phoenix Wright, who defended Mr. Galactica when he was charged with murder. Iâve read through the case file, so I have a rough idea of most of the key players in the circus. Or, the ones from back then, anyway. But this is kinda cool! Maybe Iâll bring Trucy and Athena and Mr. Wright to come see you guys! Iâm sure theyâd love it.â

âIâm an assistant animal trainer for the Berry Big CircusâŚitâs a pretty famous circus thatâs been around for years! I always perform in a clown outfit, but I do most of my acts with the animals.â
(Mustâve just been a fluke, itâs gone nowâŚ)
âAwesome! Man, Iâve heard a lot about the Berry Big! Is Max still performing there? How about Regina and Moe?â

âYou need to see my actâŚmaybe that will change your mind. Youâll have to buy a ticket, though.â He tensed up. âI-I donât think thatâs possible? Iâm just trying to live a normal lifeâŚkeeping a low profile and all that!â
(âŚWas he lying about his act cheering me up? Thatâs⌠odd.)
âMaybe Iâll do that. Do you do street performance or are you with a circus?â

âI-Iâm not THAT depressing, am I??? I would be out of a job as a clown, and that canât happen! Nowaynowaynoway!!â
âCertainly ainât making any smiles over here. Youâre⌠familiar looking.â

Interesting that you mention that Edgeworth wants to prevent people from taking the law into their own hands because thatâs exactly what Aura Blackquill did.
ooc; I actually didnât connect the dots until now bc I played AAI2 after Dual Destinies but wow youâre completely right! Maybe thatâs another reason why it seemed like Edgeworth wanted the police to be more lenient with Auraâs decision, along with the fact that she did it for family? Bc heâs already seen this happen before with Souta and did say that things might have turned out differently if the justice system hadnât failed in Soutaâs case.

⌠Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?
ooc;Â Hmm...I donât think so? Iâve been playing him pretty much the same way since I made the blog about a year or two ago haha. Tho with some character development through RPs and whatnot, that might change in the future c:
â What do you wish the author would reveal/had revealed about your muse?
ooc;Â I wish we learned more about what happened to Souta/Simon during the years he ran away from the orphanage until present day. Because it seems so weird how a child somehow managed to disappear from the face of the earth, only to emerge again as a circus performer at the age of 24 (at the very same circus that showed up in JFA, no less). Also, I wish he (and other AAI2 characters) would be referenced in the later games so it doesnât seem like they just disappeared afterwards. Especially considering how Edgeworth vowed to change the way the law works so that ppl like Souta wouldnât feel the need to take things into their own hands bc of how much they distrust the justice system.
â Share a headcanon you have not shared.
ooc;Â Simon often has crippling anxiety when in public (this is pretty much canon), and bc of this anxiety, he sometimes forgets to eat. Because of this, the other circus performers (especially Regina) leave food for him with huge signs telling him to eat. His friend Horace used to cook food for him all the time and was always concerned about his weight loss problem.
; how am I doing with my character? tell me in the askbox, and i'll publish it without comment.

there are days where you just canât write properly. you have the muse and motivation, but the words wonât come out the way you want them to, and thatâs OKAY. it happens with every writer, every roleplayer. you do not have to feel bad for having off writing days. if you donât want to work on replies but work on your blog, itâs fine. donât worry about it. everyone gets these days, and itâs okay.

An accident? He never expected his parole officer to be such an idiot, but I guess thereâs a first time for everything. What sort of accident was he in that he shattered a hip, of all things? Well, nothing to be said about thatâŚunfortunately, however, that meant he had to deal with this new person that just forced her way into his life. He had to gauge the situation carefully and respond accordingly.
âY-Yeah, Iâm an animal trainer and performing clown.â He scratched his cheek. âI actually worked here prior to my arrest, b-but the animals no longer trust me so itâs harder to get back into it.â He led her into the circus tent, where his boss, Regina Berry, was playing with her tiger as usual. Best not to bother her. âI donât work with the carnivoresâŚnowaynowaynoway! Thatâs way too scary. Boss handles those animals and I found a partner in a monkey.â He explained as best as he could, although he was still on edge. Although before he was arrested for murder, he also worked with the carnivoresâŚbut that was also before he lost the trust of them.

âMmhm.â
Ema might as well rolled her eyes, since her affirmative hum failed to succeed beyond a single, flat tone. It was a signal of her boredom made all too obvious, something akin to gesturing a presenter to skip all of their tedious formalities or transitions and get to the point. Rather rude in this situation; Simon has been doing just that, even taking the extra step to lead her into the [smelly] circus tent (Somewhere Ema was half-hesitant to enter before idling after the clown) with the frolicking wild cats that only earned a squint. Then it was right back to glaring and half-listening to Simon some more.
âYeah, I donât need any whining.â
Well, just consider Ema especially grouchy todayâshe isnât happy [in general] to be sporting a detectiveâs badge, or stuck with detective duties that have no hope for a scientific outlet she can express her true passion through. So, of course, that frusration would be taken out by being incredibly short with the poor, parole clown.
âShow me this monkey trick or whatever, then I need to see whatever you space you have here for⌠that stuff.â
It was painfully obvious to Simon that this new parole officer of his couldnât care less about the situation. He was half tempted to manipulate the situation to benefit him, but decided against it since not only would that not end well for him, but also...something about this womanâs attitude and overall apathy towards everything around her really set off alarm bells.
âU-Uh...well itâs kinda difficult...Money sorta just does things on his own!â At the mention of his name, Money the monkey climbed up onto Simonâs head and held onto Simonâs pigtails. He then began controlling Simonâs every move. âHis favorite game to play is Simon Says!âÂ
Just doing these sort of tricks for an unenthused detective felt like pure torture...and he also wondered how anyone in general could like circuses.Â
â...That stuff? W-What do you mean by that??âÂ

That action didnât hide the tension - his bracelet started reacting, so he did become a little suspicious, but dismissed it, rather deciding that maybe it was better if they werenât around eachother for to long, just incase something happened.
âItâs always good if you can stay out of scenarios like that: heck, Iâm the attorney and I wouldnât want to be caught up in that situation. I wouldnât stay around too long if I were you, otherwise you might have to come back here: so if you donât have anything else to do here, itâd be wise to see yourself out.âÂ
He looked at Mr. Justice with a confused expression, wondering what was going on in the otherâs mind when he said that. Maybe he was getting suspicious or wary and was pushing him out to avoid something from happening? He highly doubted it...itâs not like someone could be THAT adept at telling when someone is lying; but then again, a certain prosecutor was able to do that very thing to him years ago.
âOh, oops! I feel like Iâve overstayed my welcome! I-I was supposed to meet someone...I hope Iâm not going to be late, that wouldnât be good at all! Nowaynowaynoway!!â He hastily walked towards the door. âY-Youâre really nice, not like other attorneys Iâve met! Thank you for talking with me!â
He wanted to gag upon saying that, but fought back that urge and closed the door behind him. Apollo Justice...he was certainly a very interesting person.

âItâs a mostly thankless job, trueâŚbut the smile of relif when innocent defendants are set free - that alone is more than enough thanks.â
It wasnât that he didnât want to - he simply couldnât: he canât get to the many court records anymore, after a few cuffufels with defense attorneys and evidence - so he needs to get the information through their own catalouge or through a detective, and neither would get him info on Simon Keys - it was unrelated to any cases he worked on, after all.Â
âWell, itâs nice to meet you, Simon Keys - lets hope that you wonât have to cross paths again for work.â
âYeah, I guess I can see why that would make you defense attorneys happy.â
There was no way that Simon trusted attorneys, regardless of how many years have past since those incidents...but at least he was able to keep his façade up to prevent them from finding out the truth.Â
The statement Mr. Justice said made him feel really nervous for some reason.Â
âY-Yeah, definitely! I-Iâm sure glad that Iâve never been in that kind of situation, that would be so scary!â
At that moment, he put his hands inside his jacket pockets and clenched his fists ever so slightly.
