I needed this
Is this foreal?
Yes itās a real service. I do volunteer work for a rape crisis support service in my city and texting is one of the features we provide as well. But just to boost its credibility, I tried it myself:
reblog to save lives!
You can also text āSteveā to 741741 if youāre a young person of color. The website for more info is stevefund.org
My understanding is that itās more multicultural and some folks feel more comfy with that in mind!
^^^^^THIS
get help guys, please. if youāre hurting, donāt let that hurt consume you. seek help.
I never knew this. Itās spectacular.
THIS is what I was looking for a few weeks ago when I was in crisis; reblog to save a life!

IT JUST WANTS TO BE LOVED AND SAVED
please, if you are able, do what you can for theĀ asiatic lion. donate, get involved, spread information. there are only about 300 left in the world, and they all live in Gir Forest National Park in India.
the african lion is also estimated to be extinct by 2050 due to habitat loss, sport hunting, and loss of their prey base to the bushmeat trade. these beautiful creatures could be extinct in our lifetime. the next generation may not ever have the chance to see these creatures, there will be no more cute lion vines, there will be no more documentaries, there will be no more zoos or sanctuaries containing lions. there will be no more lions.
if you have any love for nature, any love for animals, any love for life, and if you care at all about the permanent loss of a species, especially one so beautiful and iconic, if you care and if you are able, please donate to help save lions.

How I make spellcandles
I was making a spell candle for the Imbolc ritual Iām hosting for the coven tomorrow and figured: why not turn it into a little tutorial? So here is my version of the spell candles!
What you need: (note: I made a candle for creativity and inspiration, so everything matches that goal. Change herbs, colours and stones to match any goal you want/need!)
šÆ a base candle, either white or a colour that works for your goal
šÆ through-and-though coloured candles for dripping in colours that match your goal. I usually use two or three, in this case yellow for happiness and inspiration and orange for creativity
šÆ herbs, I used basil (creativity), rose (passion/motivation), mistletoe (fertility for ideas) and mugwort (creativity)
šÆ small stone chips, I used aventurine, citrine and burnt amethyst (all for creativity)
šÆ oils, I used jasmine (creativity)
šÆ ribbon and charm (optional, but pretty!)
šÆ baking paper to protect your work surface
Start with carving some words or symbols into the candle. Today I used a bindrune for creativity, the runes kenaz (inner fire), wunjo (happiness) and gebo (gift).
Now drip the first colour. Make sure to first go around the edges for the pretty drips and then fill in the top.
Next are the herbs, stones and oil. Simply sprinkle them on top and arrange the bigger pieces so they are spread out a bit. Press the stones gently down into the still soft wax for sturdyness.
Drip the last colour, making sure to set but not drown the herbs, and tadaa! One pretty spellcandle! But wait, thereās more!
Tie the ribbon around the candle with one knot.
Slide on your charm and knot again, fitting it snuggly against the candle.
Make a pretty bow and trim the ends, and youāre done!
Burn it during your spell (note: remove the ribbon before it catches and reuse it!), place it on your altar or even make them to give away as gifts!
Also, feel free to tag me if you make one with the tutorial, Iād love to see them! š
We have always been here.

I didnāt know her, therefore Wikipedia:
Lucy (or Lucia) Eldine Gonzalez was born around 1853 in Texas, likely as a slave, to parents of Native American, Black American and Mexican ancestry.[1] In 1871 she married Albert Parsons, a former Confederate soldier. They were forced to flee from Texas north by intolerant reactions to their interracial marriage.
Described by the Chicago Police Department as āmore dangerous than a thousand riotersā in the 1920s, Parsons and her husband had become highly effective anarchist organizers primarily involved in the labor movement in the late 19th century, but also participating in revolutionary activism on behalf of political prisoners, people of color, the homeless and women.
Woaaah.
Just woaaah.
āmore dangerous than a thousand riotersā fuck yeah.
Wow.
Its fuckin hilarious to me that I deadass do way more to spread awareness of so-called āEuropean cultureā than any bonehead ever will.
Iām the kinda girl who can explain the systematic and material need to combat racism and promote dank communism and then talk about thematic connections between Beowulf and Grettirās Saga in the same conversation. Ask me about the enclosure of the commons.
So, about this enclosure of the commons
Okay, so: Ever heard of the āTragedy of the Commonsā? Literally did not happen. In reality, it was kind of the exact opposite.
The particular form of agricultural production that emerged in Anglo-Saxon England was based on the concept of freehold peasants farming just a couple of hides (one hide = the amount of farmland needed to feed one family, comparable to a Japanese koku) with a polyculture of whatever cereals and vegetables were suitable to that region, so that the peasants could both feed themselves and produce a surplus from their own small freeholds. And it worked like a dream; even though England at that time was dirt-ass poor and lacked much of southern Europeās material sophistication, famine and drought were wonderfully rare. The nobility often collected tax just in food.
But in order for the hide system to work, it was necessary for less arable but still necessary sorts of landārivers, forests, pastures, haymeadows, etc.āto be for public use. And for a while, they were. But as political and economic power became more centralized, and government by tribal councils and local strongmen gave way to what weād recognize as monarchy, control of land centralized along with it, and it became typical for eorls and reeves and ealdormen to own many hides or even hundreds of land.
Consequently, the peasantry became less free. The reason peasants donāt make a proletariat is because a peasant owns a little piece of the means of production, and in a good growing year can provide for all their own food needs and only have to worry about profits. But as tribalism gave way to feudalism, more and more peasants were forced either through circumstance or coercion to give up their freeholds and begin paying rents for the right to live and work on someone elseās land, or to give up that lifestyle entirely and learn a skilled trade. Thereās the origin of both serfdom and wage-labor.
This trend toward centralization continued throughout the Middle Ages and was greatly sped up by the Norman Conquest and by the Black Death. In 1066, the Anglo-Saxon aristocracy was completely removed and replaced with French nobility, who upset things quite a bit in their efforts to squeeze as much rent out of as many Englishmen (whom they regarded as foreigners) as possible. A result of this were the Statutes of Merton and Westminster, which empowered landed nobles to claim personal ownership pastures and forests that had traditionally been held in common.
And the Black Death reduced the population of England by anywhere from 20 to 50 percent (estimates vary), distributed more or less evenly across the different economic strata, and this had two peculiar effects. One, there was a shortage of skilled labor, enabling workers in the trades to push for better pay and conditions, bolstering a nascent working class; and two, the deaths of so many freehold farmers allowed nobles to expand their estates on the cheap, allowing them to collect more rents and giving them legal access to more commons.
By the 1500s, the peasantsā access to common land was pretty much a thing of the past, except in a few places where they were permitted to ācut underwood and run pigsā in the royal forests. The peasants were cut off from free access to vital resources, and the entire class was institutionally destabilized, making them powerless to hold out against the abuses of the Industrial Revolution a few centuries later. Donāt let no motherfucker tell you that people moved to London to spin cotton for 16 hours a day because they thought it sounded like an upgrade.
So, people will try to tell you about āthe Tragedy of the Commons,ā will try to tell you that the English peasantry lost their public land due to overgrazing and such, and try to use that as proof that communal economic models canāt work. Itās all bullshit. The real reason the commons disappeared isā¦.wait for it⦠š the š accumulation š of š capital š
