The real reason men flock to Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson

“I know this is controversial, and I'm prepared to receive a backlash for it, but it needs to be said anyways.

Everyone likes to argue that the men who flock to Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson do so because they're "lonely", "depressed" and in need of a "masculine role model". But when you think about it logically, is being lonely and depressed a sufficient requirement to endorse a sex trafficking rapist who became famous because he justifies male domination over women?

Of course it's not, it's pure BS that's sold to us to keep us (women) distracted from the real reason men and boys feel drawn to figures like Tate and Peterson: which is the fact that they tell men that as males they rightfully deserve to dominate and abuse women, to control women's choices, to blame them for their assaults, to undermine their intelligence, while they discredit the whole validity of the movement that enabled them to break away from men's control and to have more options in life than their foremothers.

Journalists can write all the think pieces they want about men needing "role models", it simply doesn't add up. History is rife with male role models and they could have taken any positive role model they wanted. But they specifically exhibit a strong preference for role models that justify patriarchal oppression and attack the very movement that stands against it.

Why? It's because this is what they are drawn to, and this is where they feel most comfortable.

What they want to hear is that as men they are inherently superior to women and deserve absolute control over them. Tate and Peterson aren't mind magicians, they don't create mindsets from a void. Their followers already had been predisposed by their own mindset and beliefs about women, Tate and Peterson only appeal to these biases.

Men are angry that they lost control over women, and this whole shit is their attempt at revenge.

All trans murders come from a place of transphobia, by anons logic the murder of a trans woman might not be a femicide but a homophobic hate crime instead if the perpetrator didnt see the victim as a woman but a queer man instead

Also the categorisation of the murder of any trans man as a femicide screws the statistics of violence perpetrated against trans men, many police departments world wide do not keep statistics on murdered trans men and instead record them as the murders of females. Calling it a femicide wouldnt even acknowledge that violence against trans men is a hate crime in itself, it would make it that it is only a hate crime in relation to trans men being sometimes viewed as cis women, making cis women the only acceptable victims of gender based hate crimes. The misogyny a trans man experiences doesnt make him a woman and the misogynist/transphobic murder of a trans man is not a femicide.

I had to sit on this one for a little bit because I agree with you almost entirely but I really can’t get behind the idea that all trans murders come from transphobia or that the identity of a person necessarily means that they are being targeted for that identity. A straight guy getting the shit kicked out of him because his attackers think he’s gay is still experiencing homophobic violence. When I get catcalled or groped it’s not because I’m trans it’s because I read as a woman and cisgender men fundamentally do not see women as equal human beings. Saying that bigotry can be “misdirected” implies that bigotry is a disembodied force rather than something perpetuated by other people and society at large.

Misogyny is better defined as systemic discrimination and unfavorable, thoughts, beliefs and actions towards the female sex. These actions are often covert and often mean treating women with some level of disdain or carelessness.

The reason this matters is that when misogyny is simply defined as "hating women" it makes it harder to attack and makes it easier for misogynists to defend.

Misogynists are not brainless, many justify their misogyny in various ways to disconnect themselves with the belief.

As a student who studied sociology i compare it to the ideas of racism, for the most part (im aware this is not accurate for all) racist cops justify there racism by pointing to crime statistics this in turn causes them to be overly suspicious of ethnic minorities. One big example would be stop and searches the racist copes would be more likely to search black men for example because they assume they are more likely to be criminals, as a result more black men are found to be carrying drugs because they are overrepresented by police searches.

This is true for misogyny, misogynist dont necessarily go around saying "I want to hurt and kill all women because I hate them muahhahha"

Because they use various means to justify there hate.

This is the same reason Christians and other religious groups dont like when you call them homophobic and instead say shit like "i dont hate gay people i am against their lifestyle choices and think they are going to hell"
