What I'm about to say here probably comes as a surprise to no one:
This blog is dead. Â Sorry.
You all got it off to a great start⌠sorry that running it ended up being too much and/or the wrong things for the mods.  Sorry I promoted it so much for so long, not knowing this would happen at all.  Sorry that I've taken so long to announce this even, so long to know for sureâŚ.
If anyone else wants to try starting a new rewatch blog/project, I send encouragement and luck your way. Â And as for everything else -
This blog will remain up indefinitely, for whatever good that may do anyone. Â And, thanks, Glee fandom <3. Â Sorry I'm gone.

I was originally planning to post this as potential discussion topics/episode-specific questions for @showchoirblogs 1x14 Hell-o rewatch this week, but because I am a bit late, I am also posting some of my own thoughts in regards to each point. Feel free (please!) to comment, elaborate and/or contradict me:
1. Unfaithfullness:Â
This weekâs topic seems to be cheating/unfaithfullness/illoyality:
Finn being unfaithful to Rachel (or at least not honest about his intentions).
Rachel being illoyal(?) to Glee club by dating Jesse
Brittany andSantana not being dedicated to Glee club by helping Sue
Will cheating on Emma (because she is not physically dedicated to their relationship?)
Jesse being dishonest about why he is pursuing Rachel (although we may not know that yet.)
Any other examples?
2. Finn and popularity:Â
How does he act towards Quinn when dating Rachel, compared to before when it was the other way around? Finnâs ussue with wanting/needing attention/approval/interest from lot of people at the same time: Quinn, Rachel, Santana, Brittany. Does he think of sexual attractiveness = popularity in general?
3. Power couple (Finn/Rachel):Â
Glee keeps on promoting Rachel and Finn being essential to Glee club and thereby Glee clubâs survival. Rachel as The Most Important Girl (even according to Sue, who smells strength/weekness). Finn as The Most Important Boy, Will keeps on emphasising that just like he has ever since the very beginning.Â
It is also obvious that the other Glee club members feels the same way, which is why Kurt/Tina/Mercedes tryes to convince Rachel not to date Jesse. They think that Glee club is over if she goes. Why is that? Because Schuester says so, or because they objectively sees her as so much better than the rest? Or simply because she is one of their co-captains?Â
4. Comparing Rachel/Jesse:Â
What similarities/differences do we see between Jesse and Rachel? What does that mean to their relationship that they are so similar? (Foreshadowing: Can we already detect that Jesse isnât being honest with heâs intentions with Rachel?)
5. Will and Emmaâs relationship:Â
Remember when we were all(?) cheering for Wemma? In this episode, we see Will respecting Emmaâs limits when it comes to physical contact (even though he turns to someone else). How is that compared to the pushy Will we were seeing chalk scene in 1x02? Also, how do they discuss Emmasâ mentall illness, and mental illness in general? (For instance, Terri using Emmaâs illness as a way to make her uncomfortable).
6. Continuity:Â
Can we detect any differences (continuity/discontinuity) in the characterizations due to RIB writing them differently now that they are âlong-termâ, juxtaposed to the upfront thirteen?
And welcome back to season one, picking up right where we left off.  But the show is different now, much more aware of itself (really, the amount of fourth wall breaks, even in season one, made it apparent that the writers were aware of what people said about it).   Itâs funny, this is the first episode I watched live, and I wasnâtâŚ.really impressed.  Still not a favorite of mine, but there are things I definitely appreciate about it more now that Iâve seen the whole show.
But! The cool thing is that the show does shift predominantly towards the kids and their stories, which is far more interesting (to me).  Yes, the writing was tighter in the front 13, but I think I like the brightness and humor in the second half better.  Plus, of course, thereâs more Kurt.  JustâŚnot in this episode.
This mostly makes me want an AU where Jesse and Rachel find out theyâre brother and sister at some point in season 1. It would just be hilarious.
There a reason Shelly asked Jesse to befriend Rachel, not seduce her.
(This is such a fascinating not-quite-canon performance for them though. Itâs fun and childish with the hairbrushes and the running around and them remembering back to an age they were a few years ago. Itâs also slightly uncomfortable. Rachel is all about the fantasy. Her lines in the song and her body language are all about becoming aware of this thing, the excitement of this new awakening, the uncertainty of what it all means and what she actually wants to do. And this whole relationship for her is some sort of fantasy come true. Older boy, star performer knowing her name, wanting to date her, openly courting her. Isnât this what she has dreamed of?Â
Jesse is almost predatory. His lines in the song and his body language are far more physical. (He puts his hand on her thigh and she instantly retreats.) The relationship from his point of view is⌠strange. He has a goal: to seduce Rachel, make her trust him enough to deliver what Shelby needs. Itâs an acting exercise with a mission. Thatâs all he expects. But then he grows to like her and maybe even care about her. âThereâs a lot [he is] not certain of.â At this point in time heâs playing the mature student, the experienced older man to Rachelâs very young ingĂŠnue. He is acting though. Heâs not as mature as heâd like to think.â)

For comparative purposes, here is a link to the original music video by The Beatles, which debuted on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1967:Â âHello, Goodbye.â
For comparative purposes, hereâs a link to the original music video by Lionel Richie, from 1984:Â âthe story of a music teacher, played by Richie, who falls in love with his blind student.â
For comparative purposes, hereâs a link to the All-American Rejectsâ original music video from 2008: âGives You Hell,â full narrative version.  According to bassist Tyson Ritter, âthe video basically pits one neighbour against another terrible neighbour, who lives on a completely opposite schedule.â

The lovely @ficdirectory and her sister @tarajean621 came up with some excellent all-applicable discussion questions for her participation rewatch a while back. Â With her permission, Iâd like to queue them up to post each week, so that anyone who wants to participate has some ready-made prompts to their meta engines. Â If youâre inspired by any of these questions, feel free to reblog with your answers for the episode, or create/submit new posts, tagged or at-tagged, with your thoughts on any or all of them.
1) Â Talk about whose performance (can be actor or character) moved you the most and why:
2) Talk about what song was your favorite:
3) Â Talk about what you noticed in this episode, in terms of costumes, props or set dressing:
4) Talk about what you noticed involving themes around minority representation and/or privilege:
5) Â Talk about the interpersonal dynamics in this episode. Â What did you notice? Â Like? Â Dislike?
Iâve been collecting all the videos of this nature I could find for a while now, and hope to put out a post of things associated with or from the time of each weekâs episode.  Hopefully the things here will be enjoyed, examined, screencapped, GIFed, metabated by someone out there - and please, reblog with additions (or higher quality vids) if you know of any!  Of course feel free to isolate any of these items into their own posts, too, and at-tag showchoirblogs to put up here.
Paleyfest happened March 10, 2010 - between the end of the front 13 and now
Back 9 promo - "when is the last time a show made you feel this good?â!Â
Yes, thatâs right, this week we are watch episode 1x14, Hell-O - written by Ian Brennan and directed by Brad Falchuk.
(You can still keep writing about the previous episodes, though, if you want. Â Itâs never too late ;).)
Ways to join in! Â First, make posts - any sort of posts - thoughts, feelings, meta, discussion - fic, art, gifsets, vids, fanmixes, other fanwork - anything about Glee - and 1. reblog this post with your thoughts, or 2. at-tag or put #showchoirblogs in the first five tags in a new post, or 3. submit a post directly to us using the blogâs âsubmitâ link.
Second - if you can think of discussion questions that might be fun or interesting to talk about - send them to showchoirblogs, too, and weâll post them and reblog responses.

With our post of reintroduction queued up for about fifteen minutes from now, I want to take this opportunity to put out a new post to enlighten any fans out there whoâd interested in a group rewatch and meta-roundup and enlist them if they want to participate.  This will basically be @multsicornâs original post copypastaâd and edited slightly, so credit to the marvelous her, originator of this project.  I just wanted to get it out there into the tags!
The reason for this is that we really want to invite everyone who might enjoy it to play and share their thoughts, regardless of their âships or favorite characters or corner of the fandom.  One of the things Iâm most excited about with this project is the chance to hear the thoughts and opinions of fans I might not have come into contact before, to widen my understanding of the Gleeniverse and think about things in new ways.  As long as everyone is open, kind, and unbashy, we want and encourage posts about all characters and âships: weâd love to have you!
If youâd like to, please reblog this out to your followers, so we have a better chance of courting people from any existing corners of Glee fandom weâve so far failed to reach.
On to the blog description!
What it is
A blog for us to rewatch, discuss, and celebrate all of Glee, together, now that the show is done. Â Weâre doing one episode a week, having started with the Pilot from September 2015 and beginning anew with âHell-oâ from January 3rd - January 9th 2016p, and weâll keep on going âtil the series is done: potentially through 2018.
How it works
Weâre going to gather and share posts that go along with our rewatch!  Additionally, weâll be trying out smaller âtheme daysâ for content to spark our meta engines - for instance, âMusic Mondaysâ to reblog performance videos and talk about the songs themselves, âFashion Fridaysâ to share and discuss pictures of the characterâs costumes.  As with everything, any ideas and feedback you may have about this are welcome and desired!
* Several ways to contribute posts! Â
reblog the weekâs episode post with your thoughts, or
at-tag showchoirblogs (this works for both new posts and reblogs) or
post new posts with #showchoirblogs in the first five tags (this works for new posts only), orÂ
submit posts directly to us using the blogâs âsubmitâ link. Â
If we havenât reblogged your post by the next daily roundup, we probably missed because tumblrâs tagging is unreliable - please send us an ask, instant message, or fanmail with the link so we can still catch it.
* All kinds of posts are wanted! Â Discussion and opinion, whether you think it 'countsâ as meta or not, fic, GIFsets, art, vids, etc. Â The more the merrier!
* If you want to liveblog eps along with the rewatch, youâre welcome to use the #showchoirblogs tag, but weâre not going to reblog more than the first one or two liveblog-type posts per person per ep. Â To have all your liveblog thoughts reblogged, type them or collect links to them all in one post.
* Reblogs of old posts, as well as new ones: both are equally welcome.
* Donât worry if you fall behind the schedule. Â Weâll keep reblogging things from previous weeks as long as people keep making them.
* All the posts you tag us in or submit or send links to will be reblogged onto showchoirblogs; in addition, weâll make roundups with links to all of that dayâs or weekâs posts.
* Weâd also like to have specific Discussion Questions every week to encourage more focused conversation. Â Please send asks with questions about the episode that youâd like people to talk about, anytime during the week, and weâll post them and ask people to respond, and reblog and round up links to the responses!
*We did a small series of pre-launch discussion posts first to get everyone thinking about and excited for the rewatch. Â Feel free to browse through the answers, and all the other posts on this blog, to get a feel for how things have been going, and maybe answer the questions yourself if youâd like to!
Whoâs running it
Your friendly neighborhood admins are robinalaska (me!) and spaceorphan18.  I will be doing most of the day-to-day post collecting, reblogging, and linking, but any problems that need to be solved or decisions that need to be made will be typically addressed by more than one of us.
Disclaimer here - this blog is likely to have at time a heavy Kurt/Blaine/Klaine fandom focus, since thatâs the part of Glee fandom the admins are coming from. Â That said, one of the main goals of this rewatch community from the beginning has been to include and welcome any Glee fans who are interested in it regardless of their 'ships or faves. Â The content of this blog is reliant on those who contribute to it - so if you feel like something is being neglected, please do consider focusing on and publishing about it yourself! Â Hopefully this will encourage us all to consider and discuss things from new sides.
Some rules
Or more like guidelines. Â Because: we want this to be a fun fandom space, where people arenât afraid to share opinions or disagree with others. Â Obviously, no rules can 100% make that so - but we can try to lay out the structure for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to be built. Â Please note that these items are still a work in progress, and the intention is that a full Rules post will be built and linked to on the sidebar in the near future.
No ad hominem attacks. Â Please. Â Disagree with arguments, criticize actions, but donât make it personal - either against any of the people involved in making the show, or against your fellow fans, no matter how much they may be wrong on the internet. Â Argue the idea, not the person.
We all have our own opinions, so please donât attribute motives to or speak for others, whether itâs 'people could only (dis)like that scene because they think X,â or 'we all agree that Y was awful/the best.â Â Please try to leave space in your mind and your posts for the fact that people are allowed to, and probably will, disagree.
This is a blog about Glee the show, not the fandom. Â Posts discussing or critiquing Glee fandom, its members, or its gestalt behavior are off-topic and will not be reblogged. Â We have a sister blog for these topics, @dropkickthefourthwall, so if you want to talk about Gleeâs interaction with fandom, fandomâs interaction with Glee, or anything thereabouts, please tag and submit your posts to that fine community instead.
Posts that break these rules wonât be reblogged or included in roundups; if you break them repeatedly in showchoirblogs tagged/submitted/etc. posts, we may stop reblogging or including your posts altogether.
Finally
Thanks for checking us out, and I hope you want to come play!
To steal a last bit from a post on robinalaskaâŚ
we really do want to invite everyone who might be interested to play and share their thoughts, regardless of who their friends in the fandom are and arenât, of what draws them to the show, of their faves or âships or pet theories or anythingâŚ.  As long as everyone is kind and unbashy, we will be glad to have them, personal and fannish differences asideâŚ. differences of opinion or past clashing with anyone involved shouldnât be a barrier to participation, and that the plan is to try to keep this friendly and welcoming to all.
