Colosseum | Roma Back at feeding the feed continuing with Roma and the iconic Colosseum. 7am wake up for crisp cold visit to skip the line. My favorite detail brings me back to my Roman architecture nerd years in college and noticing the change in column styles on the building. Studied this beauty in detail in books for months. Loving the details carved in every corner of this building - the columns, the triglyphs, the frieze. Here's the sun lighting up Annapurna 1 at 6:20am. Catching the sunrise (and sunset) at basecamp is a must if you're trekking into ABC. We were fortunate enough to time our arrival for the sunset, a meal of dal bhat and pizza, and catching the sunrise before heading back towards Pokhara. The temperature at basecamp does dip significantly at night, but it is completely worth wrapping your sleeping bag around your back to catch a glimpse of this sunrise firing up the tip of the mountain. There's nothing quite like the warmth that comes with the exhilaration of this view. Annapurna Base Camp, Nepal. The peak at the back is Mt. Macchapuchre, just after sunrise. Not a cloud in the sky, barely any voices to be heard. The only sound you hear in this serene and tranquil place comes from the prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Annapurna Base Camp, Nepal. Here's a glimpse of the sun setting over Mount Macchapuchre, firing up the tip of the sacred mountain. This has to be one of the most incredible sunsets I've ever experienced, at this altitude within the mountain range. This was well worth the aggressive 2.5 day trek in and cold to gaze at this, even for a short lived moment. On the way up to Annapurna Base Camp from Macchapuchre Base Camp. This short hike over is a mere 400 meter ascend, but the temperature and altitude change doesn't make it a walk in a the park. The best part about the walk is that while you take your time trekking up, you get the clear blue magnificent blue skies hovering above the beautiful snow called mountains. This is the first time I've been at this elevation (4100m). So in love with the beauty of Nepal: the mountains, the villages, the people. Came across this incredible view from the village of #Dhampus on the trek toward Annapurna basecamp. This woman was just taking rest along the side of the road. I love the contrast of colors they wear upon their skin. Morning vibes. Breakfast with this view from the Osho Ashram in Pokhara. Very quiet and tranquil place until dancing meditation hour. At this place, music plays a huge part in the meditation practices. Instead of being quiet with it mind, we channeled our energies through dance. Never been to a place quite like this. Absolutely in awe of the sunrise breaking through the peaks of #Annapurna. This has to be one of the most spectacular sunrises I've ever seen. Watching the sun slowly drape the mountains as it rose seemed like a scene only seen in a #natgeo film. Sarangkot in Pokhara has the perfect spot to view the entire range. Hiked up to the Shanti Stupa [Peace Pagoda] on top of Ananda Hill. We had to take a "ferry" across the Fewa Lake to start the 45 minute trail up to the top. The pagoda had an interesting history - the foundation of this was laid in 1973 by Nipponzan-Myōhōji, but the local government shut down construction due to security reasons. It was not till 1992 that work began again and was finally completed in 1999. The view, the [lack of] sound, and the presence of the pagoda was so tranquil.
