My first commission piece!!

The requester would like to remain anonymous but I want them to know that I’m really glad I got to write and create something for them!!

The two men sighed in unison as the snow fell slowly, drifting across the stone ground like waves of calmness. For anyone else that is, Elgar and Issac have both been travelling since early morning, determined to get to their destination. A destination that holds something they aren’t even sure exists.

Issac’s gloved hand rests above his eyes as he surveys the old building. It’s not the worst place the two have taken refuge in for a night but it certainly isn’t the best. At least they would be able to escape the bitter cold for a night.

The door was almost frozen shut, reminding the two of how low quality this establishment must be. After opening it with some essential force the both of them freeze. They’re met with a vibrant, loud, lively building. Some seeking dinner, others just needing a chat. It would’ve been sweet if the room wasn’t so small. Everyone was squished together, personal space being thrown out the window but for some reason none of them seemed to mind. “My god..” Elgar muttered.

A woman swiftly approached the two, a worker they assumed. If life actually gave them a break the kind seeming lady wouldn’t be sporting a saddened expression. “Im sorry we only have one room left..” the lady trailed off as she looked towards the staircase that was in surprisingly good condition.

“It’s just a one bed room but I assume that will be fine for the two of you!” The lady’s natural cheerful exterior returned before she began walking. Elgar sighed once again as he gestured to the woman, a silent way of asking Issac if it was worth it, really just seeking permission for the soon to come rest. Issac nodded and thus the two began their short but seemingly long walk to their designated room.

The lady quickly disappeared once she had shown the men their room, they didn’t take it to heart, it looked like it was quite a busy night.

Elgar let out a quiet groan as he settled on the twin sized bed, preparing for the cold night ahead. He would never admit this but the man was glad Issac had accompanied him, though to everyone else it was quite obvious that the two had a deeper relationship than what they let on.

After placing his belongings to the side (unlike Elgar) Issac slowly sat down on the bed, his weight bringing the mattress down, causing the men to be even closer than before.

The wind could still be heard through the weak window that looked like it could break at any given moment, the snow slightly seeping in and transforming to water. Elgar rolled his eyes as he shuffled around, not wanting to admit that his ‘daughter’ was right and that he should’ve brought more weather appropriate gear.

It seemed like Elgar wasn’t the only one suffering from his decision though. The older man could feel Issac’s light shivers through the vibrations of the mattress. He desperately wished he could ignore the guilt building in his chest but Elgar was a kind soul.

After rolling over to face Issac Elgar gave him a brief glance, admiring the markings on his face that were less noticeable in the growing darkness of the room. He shuffled around slightly before letting out a small breath and whispering “Just come over here..” softly into the night.

Anyone else would’ve thought that his words hadn’t gotten through to Issac or that the man would’ve been asleep but Elgar knew him better than anyone. The slight twitch in his arms to show his surprise and the almost unnoticeable red tint to his skin.

After another long moment of silence, Elgar holding his breath as he kept his eyes locked into the back of Issac’s head, the younger boy finally rolled over. The two men simply started at eachother for another few moments of silence. Admiring the others facial features, the way the soft moonlight hit their skin and their hair, more messy than usual splayed across the pillow.

Not even a second later they were in each other’s arms, Issac’s head resting lightly against Elgars neck and his hand landed upon the younger man’s head, lightly stroking his hair. Issac had secured his arms tightly, but not suffocatingly around Elgars torso. Their love wasn’t conventional, they didn’t express much psychical affection and didn’t claim any labels for their relationship but they both knew that this, the love they felt for eachother, transcended the barriers of both romantic and platonic love. That’s what made them so special.

Eventually their breathing evened out that the two men slowly fell into a deep yet warm slumber, tangled in each other’s arms, knowing that they could safely trust one another and relax away from society’s judgment.

Part 2 - Part 1

Content: All platonic obviously, maybe a little ooc(sorry!), the cast is basically ur parents in these🥹, Jax and his lowk abusive tendencies, some angst, fluff, they/them pronouns for Zooble, gn reader, Caine’s is shorter Srry, not proofread I’ll go down with my ship

A/N: This is my first request or ask or whatever it’s called and I’m super grateful and extremely happy that you like my writing!!

ᕱ_ᕱJax-

When you first landed yourself in the circus he either would’ve completely ignored you or immediately start pranking you

If he ignored you the others in the circus definitely would’ve noticed but they’d be extremely grateful considering how he usually acts

If he immediately starts pranking you it all depends on your reaction.

If your mother timid and scared, especially of him he’ll eventually back off but if anyone says anything about it he’ll deny it

If you like his pranks and laugh at them he’ll slowly start doing less harmful and scary ones and more funny ones just to see you laugh

Jax is sort of a weird comfort for you in a circus, instead of treating you like a fragile baby he likes to have fun with you

After a long while of annoying Jax and following him around he’ll reluctantly let you in on his scheming

Everyone else in the circus is unsure how to act about this since they’re glad your happy and enjoying yourself but they’d know that Jax isn’t a good role model

He loves showing you around the circus and bragging about how he’s already met all of the npc’s

Sometimes he’ll get annoyed when your spending more time with one of the other members (he’s just jealous)

Jax will go through his mood swings and push you away a lot but almost immediately regrets it

He would never admit it to himself or others but he’s grown incredibly attached to you but just doesn’t know how to express himself

After another time of pushing you away you eventually stop following him. You mostly ignore him and seemingly replace him with someone else in the circus

Once this happens his pranks will get worse, especially towards you and the person you’ve ’replaced him’ with.

◅Zooble-

At first avoided you like the plague. They knew this place was not fit for a child but they were also aware that she was horrible with children.

In her old life they never really thought about kids and once they were in the circus they assumed they would simply never see one again until (if) they all somehow escaped

At first when you began following them around and asking them a ridiculous amount of questions they were unsure how to react or even respond. That didn’t seem to deter you though

Once Zooble heard about the haunted house adventure that was specifically made for them they knew that it was definitely no space for a child like you to be in

Zooble eventually convinced Caine to let you both stay while the rest of the circus members went off for the adventure, not without a snarky comment from Jax

You spend the entirety of that time with Zooble and they found themselves slowly opening up and becoming soft with you.

Always invites you to draw or just hang out with them and gangle since they know this place would eventually get boring for you

Takes you around the circus a lot while the others are in an adventure, basically giving you an in depth tour

If you don’t like your room Zooble has no objections for you to sleep in their room with them. Sometimes when Zooble gets tired of their room and the seemingly endless pile of mirrors and body parts you can always tell and make them come into your room for a while

Whenever Jax picks on you or pranks you they’ll always be first in line to put him in his place, Ragatha usually covers your ears while this happens.

Was the one that suggested letting you play all day in the Spudsy’s adventure

Zooble can always tell whenever you’re feeling down and the weight of the circus is pressing down on you. They simply sit with you, sometimes offering some gentle words and way to keep yourselves busy. You don’t say it but your extremely grateful for them and they know.

Sometimes helps you cheat in adventures or during the games in the fairgrounds much to Jax’s dismay

During the bar adventure they give you some juice and try to include you in the more child friendly conversations

In the shooting adventure you got paired with gangle and Zooble and the two of them protected you over everything, the only reason you died before Zooble was because you felt bad shooting your friends and got ambushed by Jax and Pomni.

Always helps you with adventure rides and with reaching h to e suggestion box whenever you want to add them

Sometimes lets you pick out their parts for the day, you always make sure it’s something they’re comfortable with though, already knowing the issues she has with her body. This usually makes the dreadful experience more fun and helps them forget about the negative things

🦷Caine-

When you first joined the circus you were definitely terrified of him but he couldn’t understand why

Though after a while of getting used to the circus you start to warm up to him, following him around, asking him questions and he was ecstatic

A human who finally accepted him and even liked what he created? How couldn’t he love you!

The adventures slowly began to lean towards your favourite tropes and many things you talk about.

He doesn’t understand human emotions but whenever your feeling sad he’ll try to distract you with an adventure or a trip to one of the many spots around the circus

Calls you the most random and stupid nicknames but your giggles afterwards only encourage him

It’s obvious to the other members of the circus that Caine has started to favour you but they don’t really feel strongly about it. They’re just glad your not as miserable as they are here

If you ever lash out at him or insult him he’ll lock himself up and try to ignore but immediately folds once you come back to him with your puppy eyes and apologise

Thinks of you as his best friend or a little sibling

Adds almost anything you ask for into the circus

He sometimes gets jealous once he realises you’ve been spending less time with him and more time with the other circus members and internally spirals

During this spiral on the adventures your usually separated from the others and sometimes Caine even joins you

A/N- I was gonna add Jax, zooble and Caine but I was lazy and just wanted to finish this but if it gets attention I’ll probably make a part 2 with them! I also wanna do headcanons for ep 8 with a child reader!

♛Kinger-

Your basically his kid along with everyone else in the circus.

If you have any interest in bugs he’d follow you around while you both tried to catch them. He would also tell you fun facts about certain ones!

If you arrived when Queenie was still around she was basically your mother. You had to watch her disappear and your ‘father’ kinger lose his sanity

His random loss of memory can make for some extremely funny moments for you but you can’t help but wish you could somehow help him..

The absolute best at making pillow forts. I mean have you seen his?

Loves playing pretend with you. He wouldn’t mind what he is, dragon, knight, princess or dog as long as he got to spend time with you

He was always a safe person for you to go to whenever the circus got too overwhelming, just lying with him in the fort always calmed you down.

His random outbursts of yelling when he randomly realised what was going on used to scare you but you quickly got used to it, knowing when and what to say to him.

The tea parties and fake drama would go crazy. It’s even better with his ‘craziness’, it adds flavour. It’s more fun with him than anyone else.

If you grow attached to a certain pillow or blanket in his fort he’ll gladly hand it over to you. Anything to make his precious child happy.

Kinger lets you play around with his robe whenever your bored, he loves watching you get tangled up in a fluffy mess

When sleeping in your own room Caine had assigned you nightmares were a nightly occurrence. It got so bad that Ragatha or Zooble would be running to your door after hearing your cries and pleas for help. After seeing you sleeping almost everywhere but your bed Kinger just decided to drag you on over to his pillow fort.

At some point it just became normal for you to show up at the pillow fort around your bedtime. You said it was so he wasn’t alone but he knew you were scared, and he couldn’t blame you.

You once accidentally called Kinger dad during an adventure when the two of you were alone. It was dead silence until he placed a hand on your back and said he didn’t mind.

The first time you meet sane Kinger it’s like meeting another person yet not at all. It was a confusing storm of emotions yet you knew one thing. You cared for him and he cared for you.

🎭Gangle-

LOVES drawing with you, even though most of the time your drawings look like undeciphered code.

Whenever you ask her to draw you or something for you she gets really excited but also nervous. What if you don’t like it?, would you call it ugly to her face? Realistically she knows this wouldn’t happen but the anxiety is always there

The first time you saw her happy mask broken you immediately started picking the shards up to help fix it. She was shocked once you came back 20 minutes later with her mask horribly glued back together with shards of glass sticking out. It looked like a safety hazard but she was extremely grateful.

During the Spudsy’s adventure she let you play in the play area and mess with npc’s while the others worked while watching you have fun. (Jax wasn’t happy)

She gets extremely worried whenever she sees you talking or following Jax around. He’s unpredictable and dangerous! She won’t give you any restrictions but she’ll watch you more intently when you’re around him. The last thing she wants is for you to get hurt.

She feels incredibly bad that she can’t properly hug you whenever your sad or just clinging to her ribbons

If you ever showed up outside her room in the middle of the night because of a nightmare (or anything really) she would gladly let you in and wrap her ribbons around you as a hug while you slowly fall back asleep

If you ever wanted to talk about your problems or nightmares she would intently listen and try not to overwhelm you if you start to tear up.

If your not a fan of physical touch, while your crying, she’ll pass you her fluffiest blanket that you love but never take and some tissues until your ready to talk or distract yourself

Sometimes she leaves sticky notes with cute doodles of things you like or the two of you in your room or wherever she knows you’ll find them.

The first time you find one of these sticky notes you cherish it and obviously show it off to everyone! It was a doodle of you and gangle holding hands, of course you were gonna show everyone. Sadly later that day it mysteriously vanished (due to a certain purple rabbit)

You kinda think of gangle as a weird but cool older sister that won’t ever judge you.

Despite being terrified of Jax if he ever tries to hurt you she’ll stand up for you and fight back against him. Shes never alone as Zooble and the others quickly join her side.

You constantly make fun of her for her obvious crush on zooble in light hearted fun. You would never tell Zooble about it but you’ve been trying to get gangle to confess for ages!

🧸Ragatha-

She love making you plushies! She makes sure to ask for everything that you want on it but most of the time you tell her to surprise you. It stresses her out sometimes but seeing you happy with the end product is always worth it.

At this point you have an army of plushies on your bed and the shelves of your digital room.

Speaking of your room, it’s what any little kid could ask for. Tons of toys, a foam bit, disco lights, a craft corner and a dollhouse! But something about your perfectly curated room sends shivers down your spine. It’s become a nightly routine for you to pop up in Ragatha’s room and make yourself home.

There’s a special corner in her room full of plushies, pillows and blankets just for you.

If you ever wanted to she would definitely teach you some activities she did as a kid! Dance, piano, violin, horse riding, anything! (As long as Caine agrees)

She loves it when you pull her into activities you’re doing with others, it shows her that you really do like her presence.

Always try’s to keep and eye on you during adventures to make sure your safe and don’t get hurt. She’s basically your mum.

On that note you’ve definitely accidentally called her mum on multiple occasions and her heart melts every time.

Braiding or just playing with your hair is her favourite way to pass time. No matter how short, long or curly it is she’ll find something to do with it.

Ragatha gives the best hugs in the circus and it shouldn’t surprise anyone. She’s literally a stuffed doll. Anyways the hugs you share with her are always your favourite

She also quite likes carrying you. It doesn’t matter how but having you on her or in her arms reminds her that you’re safe with her.

If you ever have a tantrum and get into a fight with Ragatha she’ll be distraught thinking you hate her and that she ruined your friendship until you come running back with an apology card gangle helped you make and tell her how much you like her.

She’s constantly caring and looking after you, even if no one else sees.

Whenever you can’t sleep she plays lullabies or soft songs on the piano or violin.

She definitely scolds Jax a lot more around you, wanting you to understand that his behaviour isn’t okay and to not copy him

Pomni

She would act extremely awkward around you, not knowing how she should act. Everyone else already has a set role in your life and she just showed up a week ago. Despite this you still try to include her and make her feel welcomed.

While resting in bed you love fidgeting with Pomni’s jester hat. If it could jingle you definitely would’ve found a way to steal it.

The day she showed up and saw you tearing up during Kaufmo’s funeral she gently rested her hand on your shoulder and that was the start of it all.

She swears your a ninja or something with how many times you’ve managed to sneak up on her and scare her shitless

Despite the automatic censor she still acts like she swore infront of a party of children whenever you’re near.

If you didn’t like Jax (which you probably didn’t) when she started hanging out with him you would’ve been livid. She wouldn’t understand why you would stomp off every time she tried to talk to you until you came to comfort her after her big fight with Jax and she realised you, a child, had probably been through this too.

Whenever the two of you go to the lake you would definitely stay underwater for an unreasonable amount of time for a human. She would jump in to try and ‘rescue’ you just to remember you don’t need to breathe.

Once the adventure with the candy village was over she watched fondly as you took as many sweets as you possibly could back to the circus with you, storing them in your room

Pomni isn’t big with psychical touch but if you ever asked her for a hug she would gladly give you one while patting your back or hair.

Your head quickly snapped up as you heard a quiet knock on your window. Running over to it with a smile you saw your girlfriend Robin on the other side.

“Are you sure no one’s here?” Robin asked as she swiftly climbed through my window.

“Yup! Jonathan is with Nancy, Will is playing dnd and mums shopping” You said with a bright smile, excited to finally spend time with your girlfriend without having to try and hide your relationship.

The two of you hung out for an hour, though to you it felt like just a short moment. Time with Robin always felt like that. You found yourself lying on your bed, limbs tangled with Robins as you listened to her breathing.

“I wish we could spend every day like this” you sighed as you pushed yourself closer to Robin.

Robin mumbled a small hum in agreement. Immersed in the moment neither of you heard the front door opening, nor the quiet footsteps towards your room.

Your bedroom door opened with an excited Will only to be stunned. Both you and Robing quickly separated, Robin falling off of the bed with a small groan. Your cheeks were bright red as you looked up at your younger brother.

“Hey..Will…” you murmured the first thing that came to mind.

“Are you..” He slowly started off only to get cut off by you standing up and shaking your hands.

“No no, it-it’s not what it looks like Will!” You quickly ran to your door and closed it, leaving the stunned boy on the other side.

A loud groan could be heard as you sunk to the floor, your knees pushed up to your chest. “Maybe he doesn’t think we’re together..?” Robin offered after a moment of silence.

You let out a small sigh, looking up at the girl standing awkwardly in your room. “You should probably go…I’ll talk to him..”

Robin bit her lip as she slowly nodded walking towards your open window. Before she could properly leave you grabbed her hand. “See you later?” You let the question hang in the air, unsure if Robin still wanted to risk being with you due to what had just happened.

A small smile grew on her face as she quickly nodded. “Obviously” her thumb stroked the back of your hand and with some newfound confidence you slowly pulled in to give her a small goodbye kiss.

You had found yourself on your girlfriend’s couch, covered in blankets while your head resting on her shoulder, barely even paying attention to the movie. Unfortunately the movie had eventually ended, meaning it was time for you to return to your house for the night.

Robin let out a groan as you sat up, wrapping her arms around you. “Don’t go yet…” she murmured into your hair.

You let out a small giggle as you tried to push yourself away from Robin with no real effort. “I have to go home” you tried to say sternly but there was no anger in your voice.

“It’s too cold… you’re gonna freeze, can’t let that happen to my beautiful girlfriend” She smiled against your head, pulling you up closer to her.

You felt a smile spread across your face at her words. “Your beautiful girlfriend?” You giggled out, reluctantly snuggle deeper into her.

“Yeah obviously” she said as she tried to get impossibly close to you, her hand resting on your back, wrapping around your waist.

“Well…I might be able to stay over for the night” you smiled against her chest as you felt her head perk up, this is definitely what she wanted but you don’t mind.

“Well it’s settled then, you my dear are staying” she smiled brightly at her words, watching you let out a small laugh.

“This was your evil plot this whole time wasn’t it” you playfully glared at her, your arms and legs still intertwined with hers.

“Mm, maybe” she said with a sheepish smile. “It worked though didn’t it” she began peppering your face with kisses.

“Yeah” you managed to giggle out through her kisses.

“Raggy baby look!” You pointed up towards the sky with a bright smile, the smile reserved for Ragatha and Ragatha only.

Ragatha’s eyes softened as she walked over to you, looking up at the sky. “I can’t believe Caine added real constellations!” You added cheerfully, not being able to rip your eyes away from the night sky, even for a moment.

“Whats that one sweets?” Ragatha asked, genuinely curious and wanting to know more about your passion.

Your eyes lit up at her question as you began ranting “That’s the crux but most people call it the southern cross, it’s actually the smallest constellation!”

Ragatha felt a warm smile spread across her face, her eyes softening while she watched you, trying to remember every little detail. “Whats the biggest constellation?” She asked, trying to show you that she was actually interested and enjoyed this.

“The biggest constellation is Hydra, the water snake, it’s quickly followed up by Virgo though!” You glanced over at Ragatha to see her admiring you. A blush quickly spread across your cheeks before you turn your face back to the digital sky.

“Virgo..like the star sign..?” Ragatha reluctantly recalls, not wanting to be wrong. A quick nod by you managed to settle her small fear.

You slowly leaned your head against Ragatha’s shoulder, closing your eyes for a short moment. You both sat in a warm comfortable silence, admiring the sky while looking for constellations. The adventure was eventually cut short by Caine but you surprisingly didn’t mind with Ragatha with you.

Caine had added new weather feature to the circus which meant it was freezing. You sighed as you sat up in bed, your arms wrapped around yourself. Your eyes widened slightly as you got an idea to warm yourself up. With a smile you quickly collected your blanket and left your room.

You swiftly made your way down the long hall while shivering. You smiled to yourself once you reached Ragatha’s room. “Raggy baby are you awake?” You said while knocking on her door.

After a short moment of waiting the door opened to reveal Ragatha. “Sweetheart why are you up so late?” She questions with a concerned look on her face.

“It’s too cold, can I please sleep with you” you gave her the best puppy eyes you could manage while clutching your blanket.

A soft smile spreads across her face as she steps back to let you in. “Obviously darling”

“Yay! Thanks baby I love you!” You cheerfully smiled as you ran into her room and flopped onto her bed.

Ragatha let out a small giggle before joining you in her warm bed. Her arms wrapped around you, pulling you into her chest with a content sigh. “You’re the best at cuddles..” You murmured softly, sleep already taking over your digital body. “Goodnight Raggy..”

“Goodnight my dear” Ragatha watched you sleep for a moment before joining you in your deep slumber.

You held your breath as El threw the car at the Russian spies, desperate to get to Robin. Robin quickly found you on the top floor, her eyes widening at your presence. You felt overjoyed once you saw her face from behind the counter, rushing down to the main floor along with everyone else.

“Robin!” You engulfed her in a tight hug. You hid your face in her shoulder while she hugged you back.

“Hey” she smiled down at you while panting. She turned to face everyone else, her arms still around you. “I don’t understand what happened to that car” she breaths out.

“El has superpowers” You sheepishly answer, unable to take your eyes off of her beautiful face.

“I’m sorry?” Her eyes somehow widen even more as she looks down at you. You couldn’t help the butterflies in your stomach at her view.

“Superpowers, she threw it with her mind catch up” Steve dismissed her confusion, instead opting to find out why everyone else was here.
