heres a list of the top 5 most Embarrassing Steven Universe Discourse claims

1) Garnet Is Toxic

The claim: Garnet is toxic because they seperated into Ruby and Sapphire when they fought, and in Hit The Diamond, when separated back into their individual forms, Sapphire and Ruby flirted excessively, the implication being that they couldn’t function separately.

Why its stupid: Couples fight and flirt. They do. My girlfriend and I text each other flirtily while she’s at work, because we love each other and we enjoy flirting. Its not some horrible thing. Its Natural also for a fighting couple to want some time apart. Its obvious these people don’t understand what a healthy relationship is like.

2) Stevens Gender

The Claim: Steven wore a dress once, and he’s half gem, therefore he’s actually a transwoman.

Why thats stupid: Steven refers to himself as a boy, he uses male pronouns, and the creators refer to him as male. No other justification is needed.

3) Malachite Is Jaspers Fault

The Claim: Lapis is an innocent victim in the malachite fusion, Jasper is the ubervillain,

Why thats stupid: Lapis herself admitted SHE was the abuser in this situation. She LIKED it and she hated herself for it. The show made it very clear that it was at least Lapis being abusive, possibly both of them but surely Lapis.

4) Bisexual Pearl Is ‘Lesbophobic’

The Claim: Headcanoning Pearl as bisexual means you hate lesbians.

Why its stupid: Because Rebecca Sugar is Bisexual and Pearl is based on her, and the original draft of Mr Greg had Pearl singing about her feeling for Greg being confusing and it looked suspiciously like romance. Not to mention its not hurting lesbians any to think that Pearl might like Greg.

Actually, even though I don’t support violence, I support self defense regardless of gender.

This is a picture of a man who was hit by a woman. Sucker punched actually. He doesn’t look fine to me. 

There are plenty of women who straight up RAPE men. KILL men. And here you are making excuses for women to be abusive. 

“Men are naturally violent” 

Most men have not been in a violent altercation by their own choice. Men are far more likely to be a victim of violent crime so of course they have gotten into more violent altercations than women. Once again, its called self defense. 

That being said women get into violent altercations all the time. Mainly with other women but they are attacking men more and more frequently due to excuses like yours.  

There are men who run from even verbal altercations.

A world full of women would eventually die off because there would be no way to reproduce and things would most likely be just as violent.
