Love is where your heart is 🌼

We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken.

I find the best way to love someone is not to change them, but instead, help them reveal the greatest version of themselves.

Our job is to love people. When it hurts. When it’s awkward. When it’s uncool and embarrassing. Our job is to stand together, to carry the burdens of one another and to meet each other in our questions.

When our lips met yesterday, I knew right there and then that yours was the kind of kiss that endures a lifetime; one that doesn’t seem to change; one that holds the power to connect us once again.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.

It’s the questions we can’t answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact. But give him a question and he’ll look for his own answers.

We can spend our lives letting the world tell us who we are. Sane or insane. Saints or sex addicts. Heroes or victims. Letting history tell us how good or bad we are. Letting our past decide our future. Or we can decide for ourselves. And maybe it’s our job to invent something better.
