Maybe I’m looking into it too much, it’s bedtime after all but I thought about Ranma’s situation. Honestly, I think it’s his own fault Vile Ranma happened. For the record, I love Ranma and wish Vile Ranma didn’t happen but it bugged me for a while and now I have this idea that makes sense but I might also not make sense.

The road to Vile Ranma :

Yuga buddyfighting and getting a buddy.

Yuga making more friends, leaving Ranma with the feeling Yuga will abandon him sooner or later.

Yuga got lots of attention because of buddyfight.

First of all, Yuga started to play buddyfight because of Ranma. Gargantua punisher also played a role in this but it was Ranma who encourages him. They both said it.

He would also have a buddy if he opened the pack. The only thing I think that could happen is vanity husk destroyer manipulating Ranma or the buddy police doing something because Destroyer is from lost world and dangerous but Tasuku would probably find a way. At least I hope he would.

Second of all, Yuga befriending Subaru and Masato was also because of Ranma. It was his idea to buddyfight them and you know that in the buddyfight world, you bond through buddyfight.

Third of all, making the videos for the Ranga channel was his idea.

Again, I could be wrong, it’s very late now, it’s just a thought. I’m just hoping Ranma will turn normal soon.

There’s his parents that are never there, which is where I think it all starts. We dunno how long his parents have been “on the road for work” through his life, but as a 12 year old, if it has happened for most of his life, his human instinct has made him thirsty for attention and love, because he has absentee parents.

Yuga, his (apprently) only friend. Because of his absentee parents, and the need for attention, Ranma is possessive of his only friend. All the times he’s claimed to know the most about Yuga more than anyone, how he should be the one to win against Yuga just out of principle of how much more he knows about him more than anyone else? He was the reason the two of them started the RanGa channel? It was his idea for Yuga to play Buddyfight? It’s was because of him that Yuga even played in the ABC Cup and won?

When it comes to Buddyfight, Ranma has been playing for a while. He had no buddy, even after Yuga got his own. A buddy would probably be the answer to his lonliness, the attention he needs that his parents can’t give him, that Yuga isn’t able to anymore (because now the friend circle is bigger, and he has a buddy).

He tried to be fair and let Yuga have more attention than him, but he’s obviously jealous. He didn’t believe that he should get in the way of Yuga’s success, because it’s kind of like how his parents are successful, and wanting their attention and love and care is getting in the way of their success (aka, keeping them from traveling for work).

Then Destroyer came around. The buddy Ranma always wanted. Personally, I think that the second Ranma realized he got a buddy, he would treat it like a replacement for his parents. (:o) He’s been planning his first meeting forever, fantasizing about who it could be, what world it would be from, how strong it would be. Yadda yadda.

Destroyer is a strong buddy, and he took the insecurities Ranma had and used them to make the both of them stronger in Buddyfight. Having a buddy that enabled him to let out his feelings is just what Ranma needed. It worked out for both of them in the end, just like how buddies are supposed to be. Though, having a buddy that is so violent and hooked on said violence will end up turning sour for Ranma, but for now, being Vile Ranma is what is making him happiest.

It made him forget his parents, it made him forget longing for attention, it made him able to do the things he’s always wanted: have a buddy and be something more than just a shadow of someone else’s success.
